Hi All, After joining an insurance scheme, which includes maternity cover with no waiting periods (standard, couldn't not select it as insurers have to cover maternity these days), discover I am pregnant!!! TOTAL Shock!!! No idea, as cycle all over the place since number 3 and absolutely no symptoms. When I completed the application I answered no to the question. 'Are you pregnant?' Finally get around to lodging my claim last week only for the Insurers to say they won't cover the pregnancy because I was pregnant when I completed the application and didn't declare the pre-existing condition. Absolutely true but I didn't know!!! I have lodged an appeal which they will investigate but wanted to know if anyone has been in a similar situation and what was the outcome?? Thanks for the advice.

Ooooo, thanks, cymraes, that's a start!! If all else fails I can go pay a visit. Don't suppose you have anymore upcoming appointments and you could get her to give a few more specific details ;) I'll keep googling/cyber stalking her and see what I can find! Cheers.

Hi Pearl28, I don't think what you're experiencing is gender discrimination. My Husband who has UAE Snr Management IT experience, is going through exactly what you are: no responses to applications, or automated ones, finding it difficult to even speak to recruiters etc etc. However, as other posters have said it's not discrimination, just the way things work here. We are expecting it to take 3-6 months before he gets anything, although I am hoping its sooner :) Good luck with the search.

Thanks Citron, yes, I heard the same. However, I cannot find any details of the new clinic and if you Google her everything points back to City Hospital and if you call them they say she no longer works there. Hence I though some current patients might have more information or could perhaps ask her!

Thanks for your response CG9. I have phoned City and they weren't very helpful, just kept saying she is only seeing current patients. They took my name to give to her nurse to call me back but I haven't heard anything yet. Any current patients of her's at City who can ask her where she's moving too and how we can make an appointment? Will also post this on the main thread as seems to be pretty quiet on the pregnancy thread these days. Thanks everyone.

Thanks Caps, he had taken a look at Apple's vacancies but nothing really in his area. He is also actively looking via LinkedIn and networking on there. He is applying directly to Company websites but so far nothing. Any other suggestions, Ladies?

Babysoosoo, That is brilliant news. I will get on to Alico straight away if it's going to take months for approval, as I imagined it would. Can I ask, is your LO on GHT for a pre-existing condition? Mine is, so all of the other insurers I've spoken to have rejected it on these grounds,as well as GHT being a general exclusion. Also, do you have a contact at Alico by any chance? Might help to fast track the process and get rid of some of the original NOs!!! Anyone know of any other insurers who cover GHT? Thanks so much

Hi All, I know that the original post is an old one but just wondering if anyone here has been able to get Growth Hormones (ght) covered on their medical insurance?? We previously lived here and my DSs GHT was coved but I think DHs employer struck a deal with their medical insurer to cover the costs. Having just relocated back here we will now be responsible for our own medical insurance and I have not come across a single insurer that will cover this treatment, including who we were previously insured by. We have enough GHT to last us 9 months (possibly 15months) but think we will need all of this time to find someone to cover it as it seems that GHT is a general exclusion on all policies. If any of you Ladies know of any medical insurer who will cover GHT, I would greatly appreciate any details you can provide. Alternatively, do any of you manage to get supplies from the UK or Aus? TIA

Hi All, I have read that Horizon have increased the number of classes in the EY. Has this made it any easier to secure a place or do they just have more classes but equally long waitlists? I am looking at two places for late Term 2, early Term 3, one in Year 2 or 3 and the other in FS2....I think. Don't like my chances but can only try.... Can't get through to actually speak to the registrar, so any info you have, would be great. TIA

I saw Dr Elsa a couple of years ago and she was simply amazing! I had a totally unexplained miscarriage at 19 weeks after what she had described as one of the most traumatic obstetric histories she had heard. She made what was one of my worst life experiences as humane as it could possibly be. She has a very big heart and and amazing bedside manner. Unfortunately, I can't vouch for with regards to full term care and delivery etc but she was the one shining light in what was an otherwise, very dark time for us. For what it's worth, she is Indian but British Indian, I believe, or at least trained extensively in the UK. And, she was pretty difficult to get into, long waiting list but not sure if that is still the case.

Thanks Chrissy and CP. Funnily enough, just as these thoughts were out of my head and onto this forum, DH gets an email from a friend asking about his interest in a role back in DXB! What's that saying about 'when you share a dream, the whole world conspires to help you achieve it' or something like that?!?!? Anyway, we are pursuing this lead and have been letting all of our previous contacts know our intentions. He is pretty senior i.e. IT director level, so hopefully, salary will be OK to support us given the rising costs of everything in the past two years. We never received rent last time we were there so not expecting that but schools would have to be included otherwise, might definitely not be worth our while and we've a new addition since we last lived there so need schooling for 3! If anyone knows any reputable exec recruitment firms that specialize in IT, would really appreciate the details. As for schools, I know they've all probably finished for the year now but once September arrives I will be putting their names down at all the schools I loved last time. Is it still the case that FS1/FS2 are nigh impossible to get into but it's easier at the higher levels? My eldest would be possibly year 3 in September 2015 (she's 7 now). Anything else we need to consider?

Thanks everyone, always good to know you're not the only ones thinking of packing up your whole family and moving across the world....again! I'm not even unpacking all of our boxes here in the family home we purchased as I feel like I'll just have to pack them up again soon. Darling3, schooling is perhaps the biggest concern for me. My LO has some special needs, albeit mild and I think there are some schools in Dubai that could cater for her very well, it's just last time we weren't able to get her into any of them!! And she is so happy at her current school and they are amazing and it is free and a walk down the road! So that is all a plus of being at home but is it enough to keep me here for the next however many years....I'm not sure. I guess we just keep plugging away at applying for jobs and if something comes up we explore the package and make our decision then. How did you/OHs get work back in Dubai? Was it through previous Companies? This isn't an option for us and recruitment websites etc are like black holes so ours thoughts are that DH will have to move over first secure something and then the rest of the family will follow. Did anyone do that and how long did it take? DH is in IT and I hear that market is saturated now? Anyway, ending this brain dump as so many things going through my head, I'm not being coherent but thanks for listening and sharing!
