Hi Alysindubai, I've just heard back from our friend - unfortunately, with the exception of this new Graduate opening, they have completed their hiring for the year but may well be looking to hire early 2017. Will let you know if I hear anything - he did mention that Senior Architects are in high demand currently in the UAE with projects ramping up between now and 2020 (its now or never for many of these declared projects). Good luck and I'm sure something will come up! hi Annorman, thx for the reply and input. guess will have to keep on trying then. sigh have a nice weekend :)

Hi ladies, I quite often see mum's here looking for opportunities post education. DH's best friend is a partner at one of the leading Architect firms in the UAE - they have been engaged on several landmark projects and also government buildings. They are presently looking for graduate with a relevant degree, preferably with a reputable Western university who is able to start working before the end of 2016. They have just been awarded a major showroom project and hence have an urgent need. Package - starting salary will be 17,500dhs (22 days paid leave, rising to 26 days after 2 years). Please let me know if any of your kids may be interested! hi annorman, please do excuse me but would you know if there is any senior architect/PM position available at the said firm? my DH is currently looking for a job at the moment and no success sadly. Kindly do contact me if there's a vacancy. TQ & sorry for hijacking your post. Desperate mode ON now if you understand what i mean. Cheers!

Hi All, I am looking to hire someone to do an hour or two of henna tattoos for a party. Can anyone recommend someone that will be willing to come to our home address rather than go to a salon? Many thanks peeps! Check out starnstylehennaart_uae on Instagram. She did very nice henna design on my teenage daughter.

Has anyone tried it? Would love to know some reviews. Also where do you order it from? Hi, my teenager loves it, apparently. I got hers from a reliable beauty blogger here Dubai. Careful, lots of fake ones being sold online ?

A few months i rescued a puppy - he was covered in ticks so i took him straight to the vet - he was in isolation when he came down with Parvo (stomach virus thats 90% deadly in pups) - he was at the vets a week and managed to survive. After a week of coming home he started to crash and had caught erlichia from the ticks (blood born parasite - similar to lyme disease in humans) and needed a blood transfusion. 6 weeks on he is now a healthy 5 month old pup - unfortunately my vet bills are not so healthy and i still have a big outstanding bill for him. I want to do a garage sale to try and help raise money to cover these and am being a little cheeky asking if any of you lovely ladies have anything that you would like to donate.... Am happy to collect. Thank you in advance for your generosity. His story is on the Facebook group "Dogs in Dubai" and his name is Knut. (pronounced KerNoot) Hi Izzy, Where are you located & what type of things would you like for the garage sales and when are you having it? Thx

Ladies, we'd love it if you could arrange to meet at our next Evening with ExpatWoman which is on Wednesday March 2nd at Emirates Golf Club from 6pm - 8pm... It will be a great opportunity for you all to meet and then exchange numbers and take it from there :) As per our forum guidelines members are unable to share email IDs and personal contact details on our forum. EW Admin would love to come! have tried a site for expats, went to a ladies meet up at a gym and a light lunch but it was a fail as everyone came with a friend and not much mingling. i felt a bit self conscious & overwhelmed. been here for 7 months, am left alone for 12 hours daily after husband leaves work. i don't work. my only company is a rescued cat we adopted last Sept. Some days are good some days are just lonely. its not been easy. i think i'm starting to have anxiety issues. I'm thinking of going to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque day trip & hoping to meet & make new friends

Has anyone heard / seen, the Address Downtown is being incinerated as we speak....looks awful and hope everyone is ok! It's 2:50am right now & I live on the Boulevard Downtown with a direct view of The Address. Fire's still raging inside the building. It's simply stomach churning watching the flames still going wild on some floors hours since its started. I do hope there's no fatalities as reported. :(

Folded ones are easier to carry! If don't need then then I'll be happy to pick them up! Sorry haven't been checking the forum for awhile. Boxes still available if you still need them. Fyi, you will need tapes to put them back together. I don't know how to pass you my contact number though?

I'm in Downtown. I do have some boxes if you need although you'd have to tape it up yourself as I've folded em & put them away.

Hello everyone , Does anybody know where I can find any organic black seed oil capsules? I'm staying in Downtown & have gone to a few organic places , pharmacy etc but to no avail. Intriguingly an assistant in pharmacy tried to sell me Flax seed saying they're one and the same ?. I need it as a supplement to my diet because of an illness. Thank you in advance.

If you are anyway going to Dubai mall, head to sisters rather than WOW salon.. They have European staff there which are nice and good. ? wished I got this msg before I went to Wow! I definitely didnt get a wow outcome! Disappointing to say the least! Will check Sisters out next time as Dubai Mall is very close to my place or will head out to the one mentioned in Jumeirah. Can't handle another disappointing hair color & cut! Ugghhh!

Thank you ladies, appreciate the leads! I'm terrible, I always get nervous with new hairdressers. As its urgent that I get something done now, I'm going to WOW at Dubai mall. This is going to be a maiden visit which could end in numerous selfies or endless tear ducts leakage! ?

I'm a Malaysian & my husband is a Brit. Got married in Kuala Lumpur. As my husband will be my sponsor for visa, I called my consulate on how to go about it. We were told to get our marriage certs & translated copies attested by the MOFA in the country it was registered, then send the attested copies to the UAE embassy in Kuala, Lumpur to be stamped for certification. Infact, just this morning my husband took the already attested documents in KL to MOFA in Dubai to get it "attested". Paid AED 150 for each copy. So AED 600 in total. All we have to do now is fill in my application etc for a visa.

I recently discovered a site called movesouq dot com and found two different companies to do some work I needed done, and have no complaints. (I swear I am not affiliated with this place at all.) Anyway, they have a number of companies listed with them and reviews etc. I just found it very helpful. TQ Norak, Got mine online too & I didn't have much luck with them. But will try the site you've mentioned. Thanks again ?

I'm new to Dubai sort of. Moved in to one of the older-ish apartment in Downtown Dubai in Sept & need some recommendations on any maintenance companies that does aircon servicing, plumber, electrical & such. Had some minor things done before by someone from the building's maintenance & the real estate agent's recommended handy man & both did shoddy jobs. Very exasperating. Had a quote recently from a company & it was a bit steep. For instance, my tap only needs a change of washer & they insist we need a brand new tap the works. Would not give a detailed list of what we're paying for & requires an 80% deposit before they start on anything. Please do recommend me a "tried & tested" maintenance company. Thank you in advance. I have used both jim will fix it and must have maintenance. Both are British managed They usually charge 200 for the first hour then 150 for every hour after that I have never had any problems and they are serviced my air con/fixed the washing machine wall connector pipe/put up curtain rails, shelves, mirrors and ceiling light fittings TQ Sarahlou, Will get intouch with them. Cheers ?
