Festival Fun is on the Horizon
With festival season fast approaching in the UK, we are reminded of the many fantastic festivals that occur in many countries around the world. During the summer months in the Northern Hemisphere plenty of festivals of all pastimes are taking place as its festival time!
You might be missing Glasonbury this week but there's no need to panic, there are still plenty on the horizon too for you to enjoy this year. Here are some of EW’s favorites across the globe!
Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Scotland

Starting in 1947, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is one of the most popular arts festivals in the world and takes place every August for three weeks in Edinburgh, Scotland. Every year thousands of performers take to hundreds of stages all over Edinburgh. It brings together various performers and artistic talent. It is a great place to catch new and up-coming comical talent as well as the comic geniuses.

La Tomatina Festival, Valencia
26th August 2015
La Tomatina happens on the last Wednesday of every year in Valencia , Spain. Tens of thousands of participants come from all over the world to create harmless carnage where more than one hundred tons of over-ripe tomatoes are thrown in the streets. And why? To have fun! This week long festival has music, dancing parades and fireworks. There is even a paella cooking contest.

SoundWave, Croatia
August 6th- 10th 2015
Sound wave is a friendly art festival that is in its 7th year. It is mainly an electrical musical festival but has recently added an art and film programme. It gathers together some of the world’s best Hip Hop artists and vocal talent. It is a great festival to enjoy on the beautiful beaches of Croatia and in the glorious sunshine.

Montréal International Jazz Festival, Quebec, Canada
June 26th - July 5th, 2015
This is one of the world’s largest jazz festivals by Guinness World Records and has been running for over 30 years! Every year this city turns has a funky rhythm running through it as the world’s Jazz stars flock to Canada. The most amazing thing about this festivals is that there is a lot of free activities and attracts over 300 artists from 30 countries. This is the place to be to listen to the smooth beat of jazz.

Wireless Festival, London
3rd-5th July 2015
This is a well-established music festival that attracts some of the best names in music. This year includes David Guetta and Avicii. This year it’s taking place in North London’s Finsbury Park. It will be fun filled day with great acts and lots of dancing. It is always a good idea to be prepared with wellies for these festivals, just in case the reliable British weather decides to throw a rain shower your way. Though that will not stop the dancing!
