Shakira, the Mother on a Mission

Shakira is the singer, dancer, song writer, producer and model we have all heard off. However, there is much more to this musically talented woman than meets the eye.

Shalkira

Born in Colombia in 1977, and she now lives in Barcelona, Spain. She is more than a pop star, she is a great humanitarian always striving to bring public attention to worthwhile causes.  This modern day #Expatwoman is always thinking of others and has been involved in many honourable campaigns. She has used her popularity and wealth to try and help those who do not have a voice. In 1997 she founded the Pies Descalzos Foundation (Barefoot Foundation), a charity that aims to help impoverished children in Latin America and around the world. Performing benefit concerts across the globe, being a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, fundraising for the Prince’s Trust and being honoured at a UN ceremony for creating the Pies Descalzos Foundation, this is a woman has a big heart and is one great female role model.
