For Indians working in Dubai, how easy or difficult is it to get Schengen Visa through German Embassy?

Even I am going to apply for Schengen visa this summer for Austria. I have a different doubt, since I have started my work (and transfered sponsorship from husband's to company's) recently, only this month I have opened my bank account. So I cannot provide a 6 month bank statement for myself. However, I am travelling with my husband and jointly applying. Will his bank statement be acceptable for both??? (I have written and reminded Austrian embassy ...no response) Hi Amyly, I had written to the Germany UAE Visa helpdesk at VFS & they got back to me within a day..try writing to/ calling their Austrian section..

To make it simple, when we travelled last year to 2 schengen countries, the maximum stay in whichever country is where u need to apply your visa. In your case is germany. It doesnt matter if your first entry is Swiss. I our case we entered Paris first for 3 days and than 10 days in Spain. We had to go through VFS Spain. Hotel bookings are a must if your are staying in hotels for both destinations. Thanks Shivi! We have made all our bookings throughout the trip. But my question was regarding which hotel will be our sponsor to be put on the visa application form?

I was under the impression that you had to apply to the county to which you first land in. Hi Izzy...no its the schengen country where you will be spending most number of days during your entire trip.

mrsb & Appletiser...needed some quick clarification- Ours is a 13 day trip to Germany & Switzerland (primarily Germany). I have applied for visa to the German embassy. We will be staying at 7 hotels, in such a scenario which of the following will be our sponsor. a. First hotel we are putting up at during the trip (we are landing in Switzerland) b. First hotel we are putting up at in Germany (that would be on day 4 of the trip) c. All 7 hotels where we are staying during the trip. Anybody who can help with this?? urgently need to clarify. Thanks in advance!

We had a recent trip to Austria - you need: flights, hotel, and travel insurance before making the application

As long as all your documents are in order and have valid tickets/ hotel reservations, there is no reason for rejection. Of course, it helps if you have been living in Dubai for at least 1-2 years, as they might look at new residents differently. If you are going to stay with relatives in Germany, it will be useful if you can get a sponsor letter from them. Be prepared for filing out some strange applications though. We had travelled to Germany to visit my sister over the summer and DH, DS and me were travelling together, DH still had to submit a NOC letter for me and our son travelling even though we were together throughout the stay!!! Thanks nams. my husband has been staying here for more than 5 years & me for more than a year & we are both working. We are going on a holiday & have no family in Germany. Are hotel reservations also mandatory? the website just mentions tickets & insurance.

U will hv to go through VFS in wafi, first take an online appointment and get your documents ready in accordance to your purpose of visit. If u have travelled to other Schengen countries in last 2 yrs, the chances of getting visa is quicker. Here is the website http://www.vfsglobal-de-ae.com/ Thanks Shivi. I am aware of the website & have already gone through the process. What I wanted to know was, are there many rejections? Are they too stringent? We have not travelled to Schengen countries in the past.
