My parents are in the UK visiting from Australia, can anyone recommend a nice restaurant in London that has amazing food and ideal for visitors?

Thanks for the replies, any other suggestions are welcome. I have booked the Wolesley for breakfast so thankyou..... The wolesley is amazing you can't go wrong here - the pancakes are brilliant. The building is stunning. You can go for a nice walk in green park if the weather is nice or stroll through Burlington arcade!

Head to Shepherd's Market (it's the name of a street, not a real market) behind Green Park station on a road just parallel to Piccadilly. There's loads of lovely gastropubs and all sorts of restaurants (high end and not too high end). I love to head there when I'm in London. I also second the Wolsey for breakfast. I think you'd need to book in advance and it is very busy though. http://www.shepherdmarket.co.uk/

My parents love Benares (chef is Atul Kochhar) for modern Indian food. I love the Wolseley for British classics or Sumosan for Japanese

If you want history, then Rules (oldest restaurant in the city). For breakfast (or any other meal, but breakfast is my favourite), then you can't beat The Wolseley. Last time I was there, I was seated to Bryan Adams! Kitty Fishers is currently leading the 'must go' list: www.kittyfishers.com/ www.thewolseley.com/ www.rules.co.uk/ edited by pinks on 10/05/2015
