Perth ladies pls help me out

Ok so on the 3rd of dec we r landing in perth, we still dont have a hotel apartment for there and have no idea where to start looking for renting a new place plus we will need to rent a car and do all other legal stuff
Can u gals recomend me which side of perth should we look for a hotel apartment, not too expensive and also where in perth is the best place to live with a family, we dont mind the suburbs but prefer not too far from the main

Also how much would we need per month for a family of 2 adults and a toddler to survive including rent.

MommyOfficially have you been to Perth before? Have you heard how difficult it is to get a rental property. I believe it is easier the further out you go. But my friend who rented a place in Cockburn 5 months ago showed up for a viewing - there were 10 people applying for the place. My friend offered the owner 3 months rent in advance in cash and that they would take the lace from that day. If you want to learn more about Perth you may want to stream talk back radio on your computer. The radio channels are ABC Perth [url=http://www.abc.net.au/perth/'>link[/url'> and 6PR [url=http://www.6pr.com.au/'>link[/url'>. The morning shows from 8.30am to noon are the most informative. Maybe a bit early for you though. Then 1-3pm I prefer ABC but it is light hearted listening. 3-6pm I prefer ABC as the guy on 6PR is a bit of a shock jock type. But these radio shows will give you an idea of the issues being talked about in Perth. This week it has mostly been about the increase in shark attacks. Also there are certain suburbs and even certain streets in great suburbs where you may not want to live. These locations have problems with security, vandalism and noise. If you want to ask about any location when you get here feel free to email me. I will keep this email here until you take note of it. I read here almost every day. When you are staying in a serviced apartment I would recommend South Perth. You have the Zoo right near you, ferry rides to the city, lovely walks by the river, cafes and shops. This is the part of South Perth called The Peninsula near Mend St. You will see the major road is Mill Point Rd which is L shaped. I would think the long part of that road is quiet enough. But on the short part of the L you want to stay on the side of the road away from the Freeway. The Freeway side of the road is really noisy. Executive Apartments have lots of places in this area. Our non Catholic private schools I would think would have no problem with the children being Muslim. My son went to an Anglican private school and they teach religion but it is religion in general not just Christianity. The government schools vary suburb to suburb. You might want to check out this government website that rates the schools - [url=http://www.myschool.edu.au/'>link[/url'>. Primary schools have less issues generally than the high schools. This gives you plenty of time to work through things. Do you like the beach? Or are you more after a large block?

No food is cheaper there than here. Although our roast chickens don't look like spatchcocks. And eating out here is very expensive. There are some Islamic schools but I am not sure of their prices. Hopefully cheaper than the other private schools. So with the suburbs there are north, south, east and west. The western suburbs are very expensive. The eastern suburbs are cheaper are generally less desirable - although there are exceptions. The northern suburbs offer more housing closer to the beaches. The southern suburbs and the northern suburbs are probably what you are looking for. People in Perth tend to be northern or southern and never live on the other side of the river - odd I know. You can get nice homes around $500 in the outer suburbs. Your problem will be getting to live near shops you can get to easily. Remember it gets hot here in Summer too. To hot for riding a bike. It was strange when we were there in May it was 40c but all of us felt like it was only 37c when comparing to 40c here. We don't have that layer of sand screening out the sun like Dubai. We have really blue skies with no clouds for protection. So look for the major shopping centers, major roads and bus routes. So you can get to things easily. My friend rents in Cockburn, right near shops and 10 min walk to trains, 3br and study but no pool and 400m2 block for $480/week. Of course if all fails and you double your budget, I know a house coming up for rent in December - lol.

Lol jamhind, i anyway do use daily sunscreen and no i dont stand in the sun. We dont wanna be in the city, we have had enough of that here in dubai. And well in the beginning hubby will be working from home and only maybe once a week will he have go go to the office in the city. We dont prefer catholic schools at all as we r muslim. And we basically r just looking for a nice suburb where we can have a nice 3 bedroom house with garden and pool :) Should be a friendly place and not too expensive. We were looking online n saw that rents r about 450$ a week. I will get my licence as well but until i do im gonna have to make the best ofnit with public transport so will i there also be able to get a cab or is it not as common as here, and would i be able to do most stuff with my bike? Food sounds cheaper than here it seems because here its crazy if u want imported stuff

CuddlesandPuddles is pretty spot on with prices. Food prices vary but we would spend on a family of 3 adults 1100 dirhams a week. But we eat very well and I indulge in ready made items from the butcher which are pricey. You could probably do it for 800 dirhams per week. Rents in the inner city can actually be up to $1200/week. Our house which is 3 br/study/2 living areas on 500m2 near Mt Pleasant will rent for $1100/week. Public transport here is basic. You need to learn to drive soon. But it is soooo much less aggressive than Dubai. You can almost daydream whilst driving here - not that I suggest it lol. You need to check closeness of public transport to your home. The trains go to the city and out to the suburbs only. The buses go to the city and the major shopping centers mainly. Anything in between is a pain to get to. Quokka and The West Classifieds are great but Gumtree.com is gaining popularity. For real estate the main site is Realestate.com.au There are 3 types of schools - the public (government) system, private system which includes the Catholic schools. The public schools quality varies a lot according to the suburb. And not all the good suburbs have great public schools. The Catholic schools are generally much cheaper than the other private schools. The private schools are expensive - not sure about junior schools but Yr 12 can be around $16K+. Any idea on how much you want to pay for rent? What suburb will your hubby be working in? As expensive as it is and at times quiet - to be honest I am not leaving willingly. Dubai seems great in lots of ways but given the choice I would stay. I think you will love living here. Just watch the UV rays. We noticed when it was 40c in Dubai you could stand in the sun and not get burnt. 5 minutes in the sun here in Perth and you will start to fry. The suns rays are very intense. So slip, slop, slap all year round.

Hi MommyOf, Firstly you will love Perth, its a fantastic place to raise little ones, but oh so expensive now a days, hence hubby and my little one 2 yr old, lives and works in Dubai, we are both born and bred perthies. Rent can range between $350-$800 Aussie weekly, depending on how close you will live to the CBD and you can pay it every 2 weeks or monthly. This is about AED1400 - AED 3200 per week. Perth caters for all budgets, just depends where you want to live, inner city living or the burbs. It's like Dubai you can find rentals to suit all budgets. Bayswater hire car is good, but you can get loads of second hand cars too, so keep your eyes peeled. Also the Quokka is great for loads of second hand stuff to fill your home with : http://www.quokka.com.au/template.php/search. Also check out the west australian online for listings. If you are putting your little one into childcare this is about $60 per day, which is pretty much the going rate here. However, fuel, food, the grape and coffee and all your basics are expensive. Also the tax sux depending on your income bracket it starts at around 33% and the more income you make, the more you will get taxed. Enjoy Oz and Goodluck. ;o)

Nope no company... And well my lill one is 3 now so ya soon he will need to start. I dont know which is better and how much a private school also which is a private school. We r not catholic and well dont want our lill one in a catholic school. We wanna be somewhere not too far from main city but we do care about a good school and being able to easy access everything with public transport as i would need some time to get my licence. Also ya we also saw that hotel apartments were sky high esp in dec but could not yet find short term serviced places so thanks for that :) Also i mean here without rent we r spending around 3000 dirhams a month for our groceries. How much is there about the avarage for a month. We r big meat eaters... Ps its funny that ur comming here n im going there hehe :)

Unless your company has an account with a company. Where to live depends mostly on schooling. How old are the kids? Are you wanting to do public or private schools? If private are you Catholic?
