Vets in Singapore

Vets are licensed to practice in Singapore by the Agri-food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA).

Singapore does not have a veterinary schools, hence all the vets on the island are educated elsewhere.

Dog vaccination

Dogs should be vaccinated annually against:

• Bordetella Bronchiseptica
• Canine Corona Virus
• Canine Adeno Virus
• Distemper
• Leptospirosis
• Parainfluenza
• Parvovirus

However, only dogs that have been imported into Singapore legally require vaccination. It is the norm to vaccinate all dogs anually in the country as it prevents the spread of diseases.

Cat vaccination

Cats are generally vaccinated against:

• Rhinotracheitis
• Calicivirus
• Panleudopenia
• Chlamydia
• (The first four of the above are combined in the FVRCPC shot.)
• Feline leukaemia
• Feline infectious peritonitis
• Rabies

However, only c that have been imported into Singapore legally require vaccination.
