Update - my Mum received the parcel back this week, returned unable to deliver! At least she has it back and she can bring it out to me later in the year.

In future I will get all mail from overseas sent to my work PO Box address.
I will also follow up with the central Post Office in the hope that my parcel from my Mum is out there, somewhere! It did have a return address so hopefully it may even end up back with her in the UK.
