Thank you everyone for your help this is great. I would say that 90% of the feedback is that this is a *reasonable* vpackage nit won't allow us to save or anything... I think we would have a better lifestyle in the Uk especially with my part time job offer for consultancy work which is basically the same as my old full time Salary.
This is very tough !
Thank you Tallybalt for your detailed response it was fantastically helpful to give a really broad picture of our lifestyle - for DH and I, we want to really enjoy the lifestyle and not have to scrimp etc and I'm not convinced this offers us it.
We've since gone back to the company letting them know what we would need and requesting accommodation allowance as you had also recommended Puj75. There won't be room for much negotiation I know what his company are like.... :(
We've also only he anything versbllu confirmed nothing in writing which they do a lot.. And we have agreed a timeframe as our daughter has a place at a great nursery locally and I need to decline or accept my job soon...!
Thank you for your help!
I might be writing soon with sad or happy news!

Thank you seasand this is great info once again!
We are still struggling with the decision, because of the hesitations on the package amount. We know his company have previously provided accommodation allowances and the company recently retracted it and that's hard for hubby because he feels penalised! I can't imagine him being in the office and knowing others are having theirs paid (we know his colleague pays 180,000 for the springs) that's got to be tough!!!
We SO want to do this, but my heart AND head says we can't have a doubt on the financial side.
You mention saving - unless I work part time - we don't think we will be able to save much.

Can anyone add any ideas about areas to live for villas ?

Hi seasand
Thank you for your thorough response!
A few answers to the below!
We are not really keen on an apartment as currently live in a house in London with own garden etc. are there any other areas which may offer larger apartments with own garden? Part of the reason to move to Dubai would be improvement of lifestyle and while we have a good one here, I am keen to ensure it does improve on it to make the move.
His company won't be providing cars, but we will need two we think. They will provide health insurance. We have heard we may need to top it up. They will provide an interest free loan of the first years accommodation, which I thought was quite helpful albeit I would rather an allowance ;)
I didn't consider the maintenance costs so will add that in.
My Current thoughts are that it is seeming we are swapping a like for like lifestyle - which makes me think.. What is he point? Aside from always wanting to live and work abroad.. But we have our little girl to think of.
Also forgot to add I've been offered 3 day a week fairly salary Job in London with flexibility for the baby. Its a good job and I'm so happy about it I will be really sad to turn it down as things like this don't come up very often.
Thank you the links, will take a look now!
