Hello fellow ladies of Dubai I hope you can be more useful than Google, the Embassy or anyone I have spoken to, to date!
Here goes my situation and story......
I came to Dubai 18 months ago with the hope of staying here and making it my home. I changed jobs around 6 months ago. Whilst my new Visa was in process with the new employers I unfortunately had a cyst on my ovary and was landed with a huge medical bill and 2 months off work and it left me in a mess. (Whilst a Visa is in process the work place cannot provide medical insurance).
Unfortunately, I got some devastating news from home last week that my father has stage 4 cancer and the specialist has said he has only months not years to live. I cannot function at all all i want to do is be at home and spend what little time I have left with my father.
I went to the British Embassy Thursday as I missed a payment on my loan last month and the bank are now taking legal action and I cannot leave the country unless I pay my money in full. Failure to do so I am looking at imprisonment. You will no doubt be aware of the Law in the UAE when it comes to payment of debt.
I have no where to turn and am in a complete mess. I am a single woman of 27 years old. There are no organisations or anything here in Dubai to help well so it seems as I have contacted everyone.
The usual question would be cant family members help me..... unfortunately not. My mother is disabled now and hasnt worked for 5 years and my sister is a single parent. I have one uncle who is now retired and has no assets. I have tried everything. All I want to do is get back to the UK. to spend what little time I have left with dad.
If you can give me any advice I would be so grateful. I thank you for taking time to read this email. I know I am a complete stranger but I am just praying someone out there will understand the stress and my situation I am going through. Everyday that goes by is a day less with my father.
