Hi, It might be worth checking out parkourdxb - I know they're running spring camps that start in the next few days, so I assume they would be running summer camps too? The coaches are fully qualified/insured and they teach according to age and ability. The classes are great fun for being active, learning new skills and making friends :) Their website is www.parkour.ae All the best xx

Hi Ladies, Thanks for your replies :) Yes it can be done at home rather than a studio - what's your email address and I'll pop you over a message so we can discuss further. Kindest Regards, Beth xx

Hello, Yes we are. By sharing I mean more than one couple renting the property - there would be 3 of us in the property in total. Me/my OH are British and the third person is American. Thank you :)

So I'm moving to Dubai in April (to join my OH) and I am struggling big time to find work. I've used expatwoman, dubizzle and gulf talent but nothing! Without being arrogant, I'm fairly well experienced - Customer services, PA/executive assistant, project manager etc. so I'm not sure what's not connecting. I'm assuming it's because I'm still in the UK, rather than immediately available in Dubai but still, it's a bit concerning - I don't want to be sat twiddling my thumbs for too long when I arrive :D :D Any-one else in the same boat either now or previously? xx

I teach Burlesque and Cabaret - focused on empowerment, friendliness and being inclusive. It's an hour a week for women to cut loose, have fun and be all sparkly!! I love it - it's so awesome seeing all my lovely women progress and learn. Definitely bring your tap shoes! There seem to be quite a few well-established dance centres with lots of different classes. I can't wait to try some new things :)

It is - he's loving it!! It's essentially his dream job so he's like a cat who got the cream. He's worked mega hard so 100% deserves it. He works in sports as well, another reason for sports city!! I'm hoping to work, only because I hate being idle! Not sure what I want to aim for though - I've got customer service, management, recruitment, PA experience. I also teach dance classes and host a food based radio show so I think I've kept my options open :D will you be working? xx

Sports City has some nice buildings but there is a huge amount of construction going on there. My friend lives facing the canal but as of yet no water in it. There are lots of supermarkets/restaurants/salons underneath the canal residences and Motor City is close by which has lots of shops There is no metro in this area so you will either have to rely on cabs or drive. Traffic coming in and out of town at rush hour can be terrible. Hessa street which is one of the main roads into town does get clogged at rush hour however do not expect the traffic courtesy on the roads to be like home. People push in, don't indicate, swerve between lanes etc however you get used to driving and identify what they are going to do before they do it. With regards to salons everyone has their favourite. Due to rising costs many people use Groupon vouchers ( Website) Voucher Scout app and the Entertainer app ( BOGOF) Their are thousands of brunches high end mad ones to low end quiet ones expect to pay anything from GBP133.00 to GBP55.00 for 3-4 hours free booze and food. Clothes are expensive here. A lot of people now order online from the UK. I rarely buy anything here now unless it has been massively reduced in the sales. There are so many shops here as malls are a plenty but as I have said the UK high street shops are usually 30-40% more expensive than home. I am sure you will have fun driving around and finding places that you like You are awesome, thanks for this. I'm a committed foodie so scouting good places to eat is something I'm looking forward to. Good to know about there being no metro in S/City and I hadn't even considered that clothes would be more expensive - I just figured, since it was an international brand the prices would be 'matched'. Online ordering it is then (and lots of shopping/shipping before I fly out!) Thanks again xx

Hi BethHH! I can't give you any tips myself but following your post as we are also moving over from the UK within the next couple of months and are also looking at apartments in sports city! Where abouts in the UK are you moving from? Myself and my husband will be moving from Kent x Hiya!! We're moving from Essex - well, he's already out there and settling into his new job and I'm following on once I'm sorted here! Some of his colleagues live in Sports City which is why we started our search there xx

We're looking at apartments in Sports City - from initial research it seems nice, but any local information is appreciated. I'm really excited about the move, really looking forward to seeing your insider tips so throw it all at me xx
