There's so much to do! 3 days is so short but it helps to know what your sister likes and dislikes. Ski Dubai at the mall of the Emirates is pretty fun. Atlantis water park is fun too! Another useful thing is to check out the discount site cobone. They usually have tons of activities at pretty cool discounts too.
My husband is a photographer, and a great way to meet other photographers here is through IGERSDubai - the Instagram community of photographers here. They usually have meetups with a theme (instameets), like #DubaiMetroSeries and go together as a group to different locations around UAE.
