Hi, I recently brought my Norfolk Terrier over from Manchester. I was pretty horrified that he'd have to fly in the hold and was really worried about putting him through it. All I can say is that he seems to have come out of it fine! He was so happy to see us when we picked him up and really didn't seem to be bothered about his adventure! We used Emirates to fly him over. The pet relocation company did everything, there are so many forms to fill it's well worth getting them to handle everything both in the UK and on arrival in Dubai. We used James Cargo in Manchester, they were great. Monty had to check in 4 hours before the flight - we decided to take the same flight as him. In Dubai we used Dubai Kennels and Cattery (dkc.ae) who were excellent. We were warned that he would have to wait 3-5 hours to get through all the import process but we got him just after 3 hours. They called me to tell me he was fine while he was waiting for the paperwork to be done. They gave him some food and fresh water and let him stretch his legs, then we got the call to go and collect him from their base near the airport. Hi Beth, yes thanks it was lovely to meet Griz and have a good chinwag! Hope to meet you too soon, will you be going to next week's coffee morning? Hi Nasreen, I'll come and meet you for a coffee at the Marina. It would probably have to be Sunday now as it's Islamic New Year tomorrow and I'm stuck in all day today. You could always get a cab to the coffee morning on Monday as they're very reasonable? Mine back home to the Meadows from Marina Mall yesterday was 30.50 dirhams and it took about 15-20 minutes. Hi Griz, I don't suppose you'd be available this afternoon would you? My delivery has come early so I've now got the afternoon free. I may have to stay in for an AC service tomorrow now. Such a pain having to stay in for stuff when you want to be out making friends :lol: Sheelagh

Hi Ladies, My name's Sheelagh and I have just moved here. I'm early 50's with kids in their 20's back in the UK. Unfortunately I missed out on today's coffee morning as I was waiting in for a furniture delivery. Like the rest of you I'm looking for new friends too - any age, children I don't mind. I won't be working. I live in the Meadows and have a car although I must admit I'm finding the driving a bit scary haha! Anyway, it would be lovely to meet up with any of you!;)
