We had a horrible experience with JAPS. Our daughter was on the waiting list for 3 years, was called in for assessment, and was simply rejected. Just like that. They gave no explanation and the registrar Tanya said that they would not even give an explanation even if we asked them. How can you work in a school if that is how you treat children and parents? Our daughter is now at another school and is close to top of the class in most subjects I hope they returned your registration fee, I had the same experience with Horizon school, after threatening with Khda, they returned it.

Where are you ladies living? I am a working mum as well living in the Marina end. I would like to meet other working ladies, just for a casual meal with some Entertainer vouchers or something similar.

We are a European family planning to visit Beijing in April. Is it something we need to consider before travelling, like vaccinations and/or visas? We are planning to go to the great wall of China from the airport and stay there in a hotel for 2 nights and then travel to Bejing for 4-5 nights and stay in a hotel that's in a good location for the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace. Any recommendations for 5 star hotels (not the really high end ones, although it would be nice which ones they are as well, so we could go for afternoon tea or just drinks in one of them)? Any tips are welcome, as it will be our first trip to China. And what would be the best way to travel from the airport, are there cars you can book or is it best to contact the hotel regarding transportation? Many thanks in advance ?

For a 2-bedroom apartment with maid, I would think your bill is approximately 1,000 dhs a month, it would obviously depend if you're sensible with water and electricity use.

I am trying to find a good agency that works in Jumeirah Park. I would really need someone on Thursdays, because they would have to be at home when my daughter get dropped off from school as well. I have tried Home Maids, Housekeeping co and Maid Co (they charge 60 dhs an hour on Thursdays, which I think is a bit over the top! ). Other companies I could try?

Thank you, do you know the cost? We were quoted 600 dhs and should the landlord or tenant pay it?

I am looking for recommendations within in Dubai, a company that will pack and unpack, not necessary the cheapest, but someone really good. ProMove. We used them in June and it was the easiest and best move we have ever done. I literally sat with my feet up most of the day :) They did everything and everything ended up moved to it's right place in the new property. http://promove.ae/ Thank you, sounds like what I am looking for.

We live close to Al Manara road. It would be an easy commute to DIFC, the area is not affected by the canal. We lived in Arabian Ranches before, but got fed up with the traffic, most mornings were 15 min, just to get out of the community, we were in Al Reem that is far in. If you go for Saheel for example it will be easier.

We are moving out a 4 bed semi detached villa the 18th of October. It's on a great location close to Al Manara road. It's an older villa, in a compound with three other families, 4,100 sqft, maids room outside the villa with bathroom. Shared pool. The asking rent is 225,000 dhs a year. In case you know anyone that's interested, please let me know. [email protected]
