Just been in Boots and needless to say they don't stock it and the guy seemed perplexed. I'll let you know if I find any as it's by far the best fake tan I've used. Just have to stock up when I'm next back in the UK ?

As far as I am aware BintNizam both are illegal, something I would never do when behind the wheel (I am from the UK so its a total no no for me).

Most of the hospitals do these GG, as do lots of clinics. I noticed that they offer them at HealthBay PolyClinic on Al Wasl Road when I was last there.

I've been using him for 7 years. He does all my curtains / reupholstery. He is very reliable. My sofa is quite big (T shape and seats 6). I choose a heavy linen type fabric which was expensive so he charged me just under 3000 dhs. He could have done it cheaper if he had used a lining material on the under side of the seat cushions, but I wanted it the same fabric. EMC - not sure what you mean by "copy" the sofa ?

Basel 0559201873 Tell him what you are looking for. He comes to your house with loads of samples. Does a great job in a very short time. I have just had mine recovered again by him and I'm really happy with it.

Just for info - last time I was at Barracuda, I went into the deli that has opened in the grounds. The lady said they are going to soon bring WWV in from S. Africa as a lot of people have been in asking for it. I for one will be stocking up !

Hi Mom Anywhere in the world I guess. If you follow the link below that spongemonkey gave, it takes you to the apple website. Type in serial number of your mac and it will tell you if your machine is affected.

Thanks ladies. I know, it's a nightmare. I have contacted Graphitech on airport road. Same story - they need to order new hard drive from apple (which will take around 2 weeks to arrive) but I have been told they will only need the computer for a day or so. Now to think about the backup before it goes in ! (btw - they did say they could do the backup for me but would charge 500 dhs.) Happy Days :-)) edited by andrea60 on 31/10/2012

I can't use pantene as it's just too heavy for my hair - leaves it lank and greasy. I like Elvive by L"oreal and have used it for a long time. Hope that helps.

Take it from me. The years fly by and as a mum of 3 (now aged 27, 25 and 23), as well as a 3 year old grandaughter , I look at old photos and I can't believe where the time has gone. Enjoy every minute, because they start school, leave school, go to university and it seems to happen so fast.

Di, My husband has really bad cracked heels (which bleed) and he uses good old vaseline at night and wears socks. Works a treat - much more effective than all the cracked heel creams you can buy from chemist.

I can second Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs. Mine are quite Pale (and slightly chubby haha!), but I've found that the SH goes on without any streaks and gives a good finish.

Well I believe there is a 30 day grace after your visa is cancelled so I suppose the same would go for the driving license. :-)

It seems to be a very grey area. I can say from personal experience that my 22 year old son has driven our car here on a UK license. He has been stopped by the police and asked to produce his license (which was his UK license) and this was not an issue. He does have an expired UAE license as he took his test here when he was 18 and then went back to the UK to attend university. His visa was cancelled as he wasn't resident here but he continued to drive on his UK license when he came back for holidays. As I said, the police did not question the fact that he was driving a private car on a UK license, and that was very recently. But, tomorrow it could be a different story - who knows ? He has now secured a job with a residence visa and can re-instate his UAE license, so won't be an issue for him going forward.

With the puds.. I just buy it from carrefore / spinneys and then mash it up and add my tipple of choice.. a little golden syrup and depending on my mood some melted chocolate .. this helps it to bind. I then put it back in the mould and weigh it down so it forms the same shape as before and its done ! What a great idea mushypeas. Will def give that a try this year !

Mine was lasered. It was around the AED2000 mark. This included consultation, procedure, biopsy, dressings etc and follow up appointment. My insurer at that time was AXA PP and they paid up in full. (the Dr did put on the claim form that it was "suspected" skin cancer, which she explained to me that this would ensure the insurance company paid for the procedure). I did not go via a GP for referral, I went directly to her. Hope this helps.

Hi Gra. I had a mole on my leg removed a while ago at the medcare clinic on Beach Road (they are part of the medcare hospital at Safa Park). The lady dermatoligist was very nice. I went to see her and she took the mole off there and then, so there was no messing around ! It was sent away for biopsy etc and all was well. Her details are below, which you can check out on the medcare website under the dermatology department. I felt comfortable with her as she has a Phd in clinical dermatology from Kings College, London. She just had a very nice manner and I would definitely go back to her again. Good Luck ! - btw don't dread it - it was painless ! !Dr. Maryam Y. M. Hi Annabelle. I have used a guy called Basel since moving here 6 years ago many times for both curtains, re-upholstering etc. He does a great job and is inexpensive. He will come to your home, measure up and have them back and fitted within around a week. Basel 050 787 6671. (tell him Andrea recommended him and he will give you a good deal !).

Yes Giggles, I arrived back yesterday (reluctantly I might add) after 7 weeks away. Took one look out of the window at the dust / awful grass etc etc and felt my already gloomy mood deepen !!!! It is the same every summer, and who can blame the gardeners for not doing their best job in this awful heat and coping with Ramadan to boot. Its amazing how the grass springs back to life when the weather cools down - we always have a very green lawn at Christmas time !!!!

Really sad, but does anyone know (or probably anyone's husband know) where my hubby can watch the Play Off League One Final between Huddersfield Town and Peterborough tonight ? We know it is showing on Al Jazeera sports, which we don't have. As he is a Yorkshireman - it is, he assures me, a case of life or death !

I've defnitely seen it on my travels and "think" it is near the choithrams at Safa Park - it may even be the main intersection that heads towards Beach Road (?) or def somewhere around there. Sorry can't be more specific

I was asking about this a while back. We have a very firm mattress which I was finding very uncomfortable - getting a lot of hip pain. We went to see the Tempur mattresses and ended up buying a 7cm pad to go on top of our existing mattress. It cost a fortune but has made a huge difference. One of the positives is that I am not aware anymore of my husband turning over during the night. The only drawback is that it does feel quite hot. We went to the showroom on al wasl road to see the range. Hope this helps

Hi Dundee30. I went to Martin a couple of times. He was a fairly good hairdresser but I stopped going due to the fact that they seemed to make the prices up as they went along ! He charged me 100 dhs more than my daughter who visited just after me for the same package. To be fair, this was in the early days so maybe things have improved, but I would guess price could be anywhere between 450 and 600. (Maybe someone who goes there now can confirm). I go to Elaine at Ted Morgan now on the Palm. Very happy.

We are on our 3rd villa here and have never had to repaint before we left. I can honestly say that during the times we were house hunting, none of the villas had been freshly painted and we were told that they would be prior to our moving in. Check your contract.
