We live in Hattan in The Lakes and found a small green parrot in our garden today. I think one wing may be broken as the bird can't fly but otherwise it seems to be fine. I'm not an expert on parrots but it looks similar to images I've found for the Indian green parrot. Not sure if its a wild parrot or if its a lost pet. Thought I'd post on here first and if I don't get any luck then I'll take it to the vet tomorrow.

I've always used www.moonpig.co.uk and never experienced any problems plus they've always delivered on time with good quality. I've never used the Kodak site but it sounds like a technical glitch somewhere (on your side or there's) rather than the site being blocked in any way. Good luck

I can't offer to help but it might be worth your friend posting a notice on the DBS notice board...? They also at one point organised a kind of 'car pooling' system but I'm not sure what happened to it, not sure if there was enough interest or not but it may even be worth asking in the school. Good luck

You could arrange a repair with Emirates Avenue...I logged on yesterday to their website and requested the free pick up service for a repair to my iphone4, they called me today and will pick up tomorrow morning. The pick up and drop off is free plus they'll call you with a price before carrying out the repair....so far sounds good :-)

I had my eyes lasered a year ago at Atlanta Clinic on The Beach Road, practically opp the Jum Beach Hotel. The surgeon was John Hopkins trained and came over from the US once a month to do all the surgeries. I had to pay 12,000aed in total for both eyes. My prescription was -5.00 in both eyes. The price for a lower prescription is about 10K, and higher depending on how bad your sight is. You book in for a check up to see if your eyes are suitable and then, after surgery, you receive one years after care. I have been so impressed with them. A friend of ours also had his eyes done there and is very happy. Thank you...in fact the Groupon offer was for 50% discount with the Atlanta clinic so I guess a lower prescription would normally cost 10,000 aed so the price seems right.

Hi Mama Maria Last April we had a wonderful week at the Constance Ephelia resort on Mahe. They have a kids club, but our son didn't really spend much time there, as we were always in the pool or on the beach. http://www.epheliaresort.com/ Have a lovely holiday! Thanks Redleaf, I just had a look online and it looks ideal....except the price :-(, the dates we are going quotes a rate of €1560 per room per night and it looks like we'll need 2 rooms! I'm going to send them an email with my requirements and see what they can offer as their website seems a bit unreliable for prices...changing dates by one week brought the price down to €500. thanks again x edited by Mama Maria on 05/10/2011

Thanks Lakshmi, I also had a recent offer on Groupon which was 'from' 4950aed for BOTH eyes. Sounds like a great offer but the word 'from' makes me wonder what's the actual price you'd end up paying..?

Ideas that come to mind are the good old fashioned 'tupperware', also in the UK there was 'Virgin Vie' partys which were not bad. A friend also ran 'jewellery' partys/home selling which was good for her. You might get more ideas looking at the US market as I think it's a bigger business over there. Good luck
