Hi Plum2, I hope it's ok to start this thread. I could do with some advice regarding speech therapists and was wondering if you yourself still offer speech therapy and if you have any availability to take any new cases on? I'm looking for a speech therapist for my 6 year old son.

Hi, try googling duplays. They have a competitive league playing Sunday evenings and a recreational league playing split into 2 divisions playing Monday evenings. You can register as a free agent and they'll place you on a team. HTH

Hi, We have an Abu Dhabi visa and reside in Dubai, after going to numerous centres we found that the only place in Dubai that would do a medical for an Abu Dhabi visa was Al Baraha Hospital, Deira. Not sure whether this is still the case but I did my medical there last May. HTH

Hi, my daughter does ballet with a company Turning Pointe at her school. You can buy everything you need from them but their office is located in International City and it is quite pricey. If you need it urgently, they teach at many schools so I'm sure you could request a pick up from one of the schools if needed. http://www.turningpointe.ae/ Best of luck. x

Apparently they coerce all students, regardless of nationality, to produce Arabic writing samples on a regular basis. Child's name, what the weather is like, etc. One of my friends regularly goes to the classrooms to do storytime in Arabic. 'Coerce'? What is wrong with a child being able to write his/her name in Arabic? It is just a language at the end of the day and surely that's an impressive skill for a child.to have. Sorry, nothing to do with the rest of the thread or the school. Just don't understand this particular post.

Hi, You can hire full time live in maids from Explorer. They sponsor them and deal with all the paperwork. You just pay a deposit initially and then a flat fee every month. They only have Filipino maids. Their number is 043 5876 22. Hope this helps. x

My daughter has the same obsession with velcro!!! Some cot and pram toys do come with them, I have some from Babyshop. But she has this plastic pizza that she got for her birthday that she loves - really strange! But it's in slices, with Velcro on the sides, which they're meant to put together - I bet that'll do the trick! Her nursery has the same thing as a cake as well. I think I've seen them in ELC. Good luck! x

Hi ladies, sorry to hijack the thread but can I just ask the ladies who had their typing done over the last few weeks, which centre you went to, how long you had to wait and what time of day was it. I wanted to go when things calmed down and it wasn't too busy as I have 2 little ones! Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks ladies. x

Hi Hun, I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry that doctors are making you doubt yourself. You are a fantastic mum! Jackson is absolutely gorgeous and really looks like he's doing so well and you should be proud of yourself! I can't imagine what a rollercoaster the last month must have been for you. But I truly believe that a mothers instincts go a lot further than any doctor trying to make your baby's health fit on a chart they use for every baby that comes through the door.  The 2 paeds I've come across out here we're so anti-formula, it was a little scary! So if you are still worried, do take him to another paed, so they can at least put your mind at ease if we can't! I believe that a mother always knows in her heart of hearts if her baby is doing well or not. It's the way we're made and you should trust this natural instinct and don't let anyone make you doubt yourself.  I know you and I know that you'll be doing fantastic by Jackson and as long as he's gaining weight I really don't think you should be worried. Every baby is different and what rate they gain weight will vary baby by baby, you can't predict it and you can't standardise it. He's really lucky to have such an amazing mum and I will remind him of that when he's older! I really admire you, your strength, your resolve really is inspiring. I miss you so much. The girls and i are dying to see Jackson, so let me know when you're settled at home and it's a good time for us to come and visit please! xxxxxxx

Looks like a Nursery just opened in JLT, West loop. Does anyone have any information about this? I tried phoning and there is no answer. Signs are posted around the loops Did you manage to get through? I keep on driving past the boards and miss the contact details! There is a website listed as well. Hi ladies, I called the number listed and the lady said it wasn't a nursery but they'll be holding a range of classes, but it wasn't up and running yet. A few more weeks I think she said. She then also sent me a text with a link to their website but it doesn't look like that's up and running either. http://www.kidsworldclc.com/ Sorry I haven't got any more information to share. I was specifically looking for a nursery so didn't really enquire much further when she said they weren't a nursery.

I'm currently signed up to WW online and doing their new propoints system. I must say that the WW IPhone app is a Godsend, I can track, use it as a calculator and search for the points of certain foods. Would recommend it and it's free. Good luck ladies. I've been battling with my weight my whole life and I promised myself that this will be the year I win!

I believe the Body for life diet uses Myoplex products, which you can get everywhere. I've seen them at stands in various shopping malls where they sell other protein shakes etc. And also seen them at all the big sports shops
