Thanks a lot that for the feedback - I did wonder about that as the timings seemed very similar - they were obviously the same I just didn't check exactly :)

Hi there my husband and I are planning a trip to Capetown and South African Airways are quite a lot cheaper than another of the direct operators but I have no experience of them whatsoever - can anyone provide any feedback? Our trip will only be for 4 nights/5 days. Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks lulubaker, October and Ruthm - thankfully she hasn't been too bad but she does keep asking for doggy and I just keep reminding her :(. After we lost him I did wander round the store for ages to try and track him down and the staff were also helping to look so unfortunately I think he was taken. We also went back in today and asked but no luck and my dad also wandered around looking again :(. It's a shame and just feels worse cos he belonged to my son first so quite a lot of sentimental value :(

Glad you find it it amusing... Hope you don't lose anything with sentimental value .... Of course knowing how some people are on here it doesn't really surprise me ....just add to my disappointment

I asked the staff and they hadnt seen it including the cleaner who helped me look for it. If one of my kids picked up something which was clearly another child s toy then I would not let them keep it....... I haven't had anything stolen either and I couldn't believe it was actually gone - so just goes to show

Would steal a child's comforter :(. Was in geant in ranches today and my toddler dropped her doggy - by the time we went to fetch it someone had stolen it (and that was after a kindly soul had pushed it to to the side out of the way). Sad thing was it was also my son's and he gave it to his little sister when she was born so it is totally irreplaceable. Cannot believe that someone would sink to those depths :(

No it's not open - we went to the park a few months ago with intention of also dropping into stargate if it got too hot but it was closed edited by daley-o on 16/02/2013

Think from what I can see the maximum would be 90 days but I am not sure if there is any issue with them leaving and coming back again? Thanks

Hi there I wanted to check on the visit visa situation for people from the uk. If my parents were coming to visit for a long time could they get the 30 day entry visa on arrival which I can then extend to 3 months while here? Is it 30 days plus the 3 months or is it 3 months in total? Do they then have to leave the country and is there any restriction on when they can come back. Thanks in anticipation for any feedback

Thanks bubble trouble good luck with your application:). On the health card if I am not mistaken you still have to pay for any treatment or consultations that might be needed? Thanks.

Hi thanks for your replies just to clarify i only meant older in the context of health insurance as I know some places won't cover once they reach a certain age eg tried to get online quote from axa. Do you know what sort of letter is required on humanitarian grounds? If they are self sufficient in the UK does that mean I won't be allowed to sponsor them? What sort of proof would be required? Thanks again

Hi we moved to al reem 3 for same reasons in December. My son is 8 and usually goes round to the park at the back of our house and he often finds other kids to play with....that being said I think he could definitely do with meeting a few others as it can be a bit hit or miss

Hi there Our DEWA bill for water doubled over previous months and we think this is because a couple of sprinklers in the garden have been leaking. Just wondered if we had any recourse against the landlord for this, the garden and irrigation system were all put in by him. Thanks a lot - probably not but just wanted some feedback from others who might have had the same. Thanks

Hi there I am living in Victory Heights and would also like to meet some mums - I have a 6 year old and a 9 week old ( prem baby). I am also from Scotland :). My email address is dandgbanks at googlemail dot com I would also be happy to meet up. We moved to VH in Dec though lived in Mirdif before that but don't really know too many mums as I worked full time before I had my latest addition. edited by daley-o on 25/04/2011

Hi rhubarb. I might also have someone who fits the bill again a slightly older Fillipino lady. She has worked for us for the past couple of years - the reason she is leaving is because I am pregnant And will be finishing up at work soon. The main reason we had someone was to look after my son when he finished school so of course I can do that now. If you are interested send me an email And I can let u have further info or contact details. Dandgbanks at googlemail dot com no spaces

Hi there we are not leaving but I will be finishing up at work in a couple of months due to pregnancy. Have decided that we won't need someone full time and our helper of a couple of years will be available .......we only really had someone to look after our son after school. She is hardworking and very trustworthy has been in Dubai for many years. Don't know how quickly you are looking for someone but we are prepared to be flexible to help her find something else. If you want any further details just send me an email [email protected]. Her current. Visa runs till march.
