If your husband travels a lot, you can arrange POA at a notary public here in Dubai, when he returns. Make sure you state that he gives you power of attorney for both the coastguard and the NTA to de-register his boat. You can then use this to de-register the boat yourself for a future buyer, should this sale fall through. The only other thing you can do right now, if you are comfortable with it, is give a letter to the new buyer, with a copy of your husbands ID to allow them to use your boat. So they pay you, but the boat will still be registered in your name. However, the risk is if their is an accident etc, the boat is still registered in your name, so legally you are still the boat owners. Unless the buyer is a friend, people do not usually do this.

Hi sanddy dog. You will need to have an attested POA from your husband. If he is out of the country he can do this where he is, but then it will need to be attested at the UAE embassy in that country, then the ministry of foreign affairs in dubai. Or unfortunately the new owner will have to wait. A written letter will not be accepted. I am sure as Eid is approaching, the interested buyer is keen to have the boat in their name in time for the holiday. If you need any further info, just ask.

If you call 800665, it is a free phone number for the labour department. They will inform you of what happens if you break your contract etc. They are actually very helpful. Obviously do not mention ab-scon-ding, but you can discuss the breaking of the labour contract etc. they will also give you a number for the immigration department (sorry forgotten the number) Make sure you contact them too for advice on the immigration ban situation...again, just say you may have to break to contract due to unforseen circumstances and they will tell you the consequences. I would strongly advise not ab-scon-ding. There are ways of breaking a contract, without just packing up and leaving.

Bandos was always the resort I was told was good for kids. It is a bit more commercial. I have never been to this island...but may be worth looking at.
