Hi we went thru exactly the same situation Last year, DH had a job first in AD then moved to DXB. We did not have to cancel or get new visas, ours too expire in November 2012 and we were told we just wait until that time to get visa and Emirates ID cards changed all at the same time. Since your DH is your sponsor so obviously has the car in his name he will do all of the legal stuff here in DXB as his visa is now registered in DXB. We also traveled on the same visas and there were no problems. According to the Residency visa office when DH is getting a new visa the family members visas should be put on hold with a 5000 AED deposit per member, and once he gets his new visa the rest of the family visas are released. However, this did not happen in our case, so since I was traveling last year and did not want any problems, went to the Residency visa office with our passports and they checked to see if there were any holds/restrictions.. All was cleared. If you are traveling I would encourage you to do the same. As theses restrictions on passports and travel only can be checked at the Residency offices or when you are travelling( which you would not like to happen). This whole process is very convoluted but has to be dealt with, and all these rules could change but giving you the facts what we went through. Good luck!!!

hi debby-zebby Building Blocks in Motorcity has tap, ballet and modern dance and more. place is very social too. Lisa Payne teaches Ballet at Exhale MotorCity and my DD is doing her second year with her. She is positive, high energy, playful when needed but down to getting the little ones do the right stuff as well. Also prepares the girls for the RAD held, I think in March. Was a little disappointed with the Ballet teacher at Building Blocks for my 2.5 yr old, sometimes I felt she was more in a gym class jumping thru hoops and climbing frames than learning to move gracefully like Ballerina should. Give Exhale a try, but really it depends on how your LO bonds with the teacher and her style.

Thanks ladies for the words of encouragement and your experiences...it helps a lot.!!!! My insurance of course is not covering it, but it needs to be done and we don't want to take any chances. I'm glad to know that general anaesthesia is an option, as I do not want to be awake thru the ordeal.... am tough but not that tough. How about the PAP's that are needed after the procedure does insurance cover it, and/or is there a way around that. Strange how preventative care is not covered here, in dealing with insurance people for the past few weeks I have learned a lot and it is sooo frustrating trying to figure out their thought process of the things they pay for or not. Nifaoilean..Congratulations on your pregnancy, and all the best. Thanks again all.

Hi Ladies, Freaking out as I just had my annual PAP and was told I have abnormal cells in the cervix that need to be removed. Has anyone had this done, the procedure is called LEEP or LLETZ. Any advice or suggestions the DOC is pushing me to have it done soon. Anyone know the quality of care at the City hospital Dubai? Would love to hear. Thanks

I am looking for a mattress for a toddler bed that measures 150 cm x 70 cm. I've been to IKEA but they only have 160 x 70 cm. Hi, I have one which had only been used a few times, as when we had our stuff shipped from the US they broke and lost the crib/parts... so we have the mattress but no crib and so has been stored. if interested let me know will give u details.

Hi Sandra, There are flea markets in Dubai ? I had no idea. The closest thing I have seen is the market they have in the Dubai Marina. Yes, I too just just stumbled upon it last October and love getting rid of stuff that way. If u are interested let me know.
