Hi Bella, that's great news, and sounds as though those precautions will cover you completely. I know how precious your baby is, and I was very paranoid through my whole pregnancy. Even if you wanted to keep setting your husbands mind at ret throughout the whole pregnancy you could perhaps go for a test every couple of months. Good luck wit your pregnancy and hope your Dr calms down or that you find a different one who has more relational views. Enjoy your kitties and your bump living in harmony :-)

Who is your obgyn, that is so ridiculous. I have 3 cats, am cat mad. I also fed lots of strays, trapped strays for neutering, even fostered one in our house during my pregnancy. I just took precautions. So silly of her! Just make sure your husband does the litter and tell him to chill and read the advice from somewhere like the UK, honestly! If your husband isn't around get some disposable rubber gloves and wear them to do the litter and then wash your hands. It's so unlikely you will get it.PLEASE do not get rid of your cats, they are a responsibility too. You will be fine, just take all the precautions and hygiene methods that you usually would. I would have laughed at her if she'd said that, I cannot believe she's giving out that advice.

Sorry you are finding it hard to find a good dr. Pls go and see Dr. Munira at Dubai Mall, she is simply the best in my opinion. She's straight talking with a caring nature an wont mess you around. I had the pleasure of introducing her to my five week old son yesterday who without her help wouldn't be here. I will forever be indebted to her! Good luck and I hope you find someone you like/trust. edited by Awayfromhome15 on 13/12/2012

Congratulations! My son is 4.5 weeks old, and I had problems when I left hospital. I went to see Cecile the midwife in healthcare city and she was amazing, no problems since! Lots of people recommend her. Let me know if you need her number.

Do you mean an antenatal package? Yes they do one, I took mine out there and stayed with my doctor there until 28 weeks when I was able to transfer to dr.elsa at city and carry on with the package. As they are part of the ehl group you can do this. Or you can stay with Dubai mall ans go to someone like dr.grace there who will deliver at city.

Hilsbils, this is fab news!! Congratulations! So amazing to see that little thing beating. With regards to exercise, I used to do loads before, lots of running etc. I avoided everything in first 12 wks, then under dr.m's advice swam every other day which I do now at 30 weeks. I've also started pre-natal yoga. Alowicious28. That's good news about your husband. It only takes 1 (or one for each egg) with icsi! Glad Lourdes called back. I always found a sat am best for the insulin test as they're less busy so not usually a queue for the blood sample room! I think I've mentioned on quite a few posts but I have so much respect for Dr. Munira, she will be totally straight with you and not give you false hopes etc. she is just so calm and I've never doubted her whatsoever. I'll definitely be going back to her for number 2! Confusion, sending you lots of baby dust aswell x

I know, what are we like! Well at least I know what Nadia looks like so when I come back to the coffee mornings in a couple of weeks, you'll have hopefully all figured out the puzzle! ClareJLT, hope you've had/ are having a fab time in RAK and thanks for the info on baby bjorns. Louve, were you downstairs paying for the classes on Tuesday, when we came down, there was such a backwards way of doing it! Were you wearing the denim dress, I think from h&m as I have it too? Ha ha, this game is so funny! If so i was the one paying as well. Don't know about you, but it all became quite real after Tuesday's class. I noticed the lovely long blonde hair, I can't say the nose. This sounds like a dating site! See you all in a couple of weeks x edited by Awayfromhome15 on 07/09/2012 edited by Awayfromhome15 on 07/09/2012

Hi everyone, Nadiadk, it was lovely to meet you yesterday and I'm gutted I had to go to school in the pm, sounded like it went on for quite some time! Louve, Mrsk8stan, Alexswe, sorry we didn't meet up. I'm just going to be bold next time and ask everyone if they're a November mum! I guess it will be a process of elimination as we see the bumps grow. I don't suppose any of you were at the city hospital antenatal on Tuesday as I saw a lady from here who I saw at the class and just trying to do some detective work! I've got to go back to do some supply teaching for a couple of weeks which I'm (wondering why I accepted) so won't be abe to make it for a couple of weeks, but will go to the Monday 24th and then the Thursday of that week too so hope to meet you there. I think some of the other woes set up a Facebook group at the last coffee mornings so hopefully we can join on that when we meet so recognising each other will be easier! Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi all, Hope you're well and welcome to the newbies. I came along to the coffee morning on Thursday but was late so sat at the end with the babies, but was good to hear their experiences too. I'm going to pop along this Thursday too if anyone else is, I look forward to meeting you there :-) It's so nice being back in Dubai now and being able to concentrate on getting everything sorted for baby. Hi November mummies, Hope you're all doing well. I'm feeling so fat at the moment, but more to do with an extended stay in the uk and lots of social occasions rather than baby! Dreading what the dr will say at my check up in Wednesday and I was so good before I event away, oh well. Thanks for sharing about the meet up on Thursday and time Louve, I'll definitely pop along as I fly back tomorrow and will be great to meet some of you ladies, like you Louve, I'll look out for the bumps! I'll be the one looking fat all over ;-) Ugh huh, maternity wear, not great here in the uk either and now they have started to stock winter things, no choice. I felt like I was wearing a night dress yesterday. ClareJLT and Alexswe, thanks for sharing about emirates spa that's great, I and a maternity massage hear and loved it so will definitely take advantage of that offer!

Hey hilsbils, hope you're feeling good this morning! Just wanted to share with you that I have had a symptomless pregnancy (apart from heartburn) no boobs getting bigger or feeling sick so I was so worried that something was wrong! lourdes was always shocked when I told her no nausea and that made me feel worse but dr. M said nothing to worry about. I had a high one too, 83 at just under 4 wks but am preg with one. I went in for hcg doubling tests and it didn't, it hardly reached the 60% Mark so dr.munira had me in at 5 weeks as as she was concerned might be ectopic after the first high score, we only saw gets. Sac at that stage not yolk sac so we were concerned for a blighted ovum, then when I went at 7 weeks a beautiful heartbeat. So I guess what I'm trying to say is don't go for the doubling tests like I did (dr.m didn't advise, I was just paranoid) and try wait it to 7 and don't worry about lack of symptoms. Xx

Oh, hilsbils, I feel for you so much. I swear, the 2ww after ivf is the most horrible wait and you super analyse everything. I had no symptoms at all and got lower back cramping like I did before period. I was convinced it was neg, I know it sounds rich coming from me, but I always thought, well I've got this far, embies made it to blast etc which is great news. I know probably not much comfort at the mo. I'm praying today goes fast for you and for a positive result tomorrow

Hi flydriver, from what I've been told in store is that not a huge difference, apparently an easier close, carry cot goes flatter for storage and larger shopping basket. Also available in a new colour, so not a huge difference I don't think.

Wow, thanks ScottishGal, very helpful. I'm in the uk at the moment and have ordered mine from John Lewis. I was meant to pick up on Saturday as they had them in stick already, but I was very surprised I was able to get before the September release date. They're now giving me a date of mid September which is no good as I'm flying back on 28th Aug. I'm going into the store tomorrow to try and fight my corner and see if they will deliver free as it is their mistake. If not though I'll definitely order from that site as love the new colour!

Yes Hilsbils, I used the wonderful Dr.Munira too, i was seeing her from September, with ivf in Feb, I've only just left her now to go to Dr.Elsa at 28 wks for the rest of my antenatal care. I actually shed a tear when I left her. My husband thinks I'm in love with her, she is just so amazing, calm, honest, straightforward etc. I will def be using her for number 2, wouldn't dream of going elsewhere. I met another of her patients and she said the same as me. Such a wonderful lady!

That's great news hilsbils, I'm praying that they're getting all sticky now! We had three blasts and 2 morulas, had two blasts put back and neither one of the other three made it to freezing, but we were lucky and one of the two stuck. I felt the same as you and was doubting and wondering why they hadn't developed, but the very fact they got to blasts is a very positive sign and your womb environment is better for them than the lab. The wait is horrible and I was the most emotional ever, I think I cried every day and went for blood test at Dubai mall convinced I wasn't pregnant as had no symptoms whatsoever so well dr.m called me, I didn't believe her. This is a very good sign that you have got this far though. Watching the embryos go in is very cool isn't it, the progesterone not so, but a necessary. I felt so so bloated aswell, and had to keep myself occupied. You've probably looked this up, but I ate pineapple (specifically the core!) and brazil nuts to help the sticking. Good luck hilsbils, I'm keeping everything crossed for you xx

Hi aw, welcome over here in November! I have three cats, two we fought with us from uk and 1 rescue from here. They are my babies and everyone thinks I'm a mad cat lady! Nothing weird yet, but I know they're going to be super put out nice baby arrives especially as they think the nursery is their daytime nap room and it will be out of bounds! Pets have very good instincts though, maybe your doggies are picking up on the hormones, that's really sweet though. Thank you Clare JLT and scratch for your thoughts on antenatal, I'll have to make my decision soon! Have a fab day all

Hey hillsbils, That's fab news about the embryo's! Hmm, it's a tough choice, at day 5, we had 3 blasts and 2 morulas (spelling?) we literally made our choice when I was lying on the table for transfer. We decided as I was 28 we would transfer 2 blasts and I'm pregnant with one. We didn't freeze the others as they weren't excellent quality. Dr. M was happy to transfer 3 with me but because of my age she was more leaning towards 2 I think. I guess what you have to get your head around is whether you could cope ith the three! Hopefully all will become a bit clearer tomorrow when you find out the state of things. So much luck tomorrow and hope the 2ww goes quickly x

Hi everyone and welcome Nadiadk and Yasmeenism! Hope everyone is well and your bumps are good. ClareJLT, thanks for the info on things to buy here, I can't wait for my John Lewis shop on Thursday, and we're going to finally make a decision on prams! Re maternity clothes, I know what you mean, as UmaShamsa said, ASOS is a good one to try, I had ome delivered to Dubai and took around 10 days with no p&p costs, so they're a good option. For those of you who have bought a bugaboo recently in Dubai, do you know when Just Kidding will be getting the 3rd generation cameleon? It's due to be launched in September, so I'm tempted to wait but don't know how easy it will be getting it in Dubai or whether I should order from UK. I'm deciding on antenatal classes at the moment between health bay for the 3 hour x 4 weekend sessions on a Friday morning or those at city which are an hour an evening for 8 weeks. Did anyone fine the health bay ones too long or are they well broken up? Sorry so many questions today! Have a lovely day!

Hi Hilsbils, Been following you and confusion and just wanted to say best of luck for tomorrow. I think your with Dr. Munira? She was my doc too and cannot speak highly enough of her, she is amazing. Anyway, I had a retrieval on a Thursday and we weren't sure whether we were having a three or five day transfer so she smsed me to let me know their progress I think on the sat and to tell me when the transfer would be as I needed to know for work purposes. So much luck, you're in great hands with Dr. M xx

Hello everyone, Hope everyone is doing well and coping with the heat ok, I'm finding it quite hot now and need the ac so low at night. Welcome Hana, I've had bad heartburn too but not for the whole time, but need to make sure I eat my evening meal early otherwise it's bad, however I then get really hungry so can't sleep - just can't win! I'm delivering at city too, I went on the tour yesterday and really liked it so hopefully a good choice. I know what you wan about the non working thing, it's quite hard to find part time work too. I'm a teacher so finished at the end of June for summer and won't be going back in September so I'm around. I'm going home to the UK on Wednesday for 5 weeks, but back at the end of August, we could meet at one of the coffee mornings. ClareJLT- don't worry I have a major sweet tooth as well as the pineapple craving. I am an absolute chocoholic. I thought I'd cracked it in the first 12 wks as didn't want anything sweet just salty, savoury, spicy foods, which all leads to boy and we're having a boy. However my sweet tooth is back, whole bag of cadbury giant buttons to myself yesterday! Louve - you may have found out now but you don't need to pre-register for the antenatal classes at city, just turn up, we're going to start in Sept when I'm back as thery're on an 8 wk cycle and week 1 will be first Tuesday in September. I was going to go to health bay, but thought as I'm delivering at city, probably makes sense to go there. Lilypad- I read on another post you may be fasting so I hope it's not too hard for you and good luck with it. ToriaB- hope you're starting to feel a little but more settled now. Good luck over the next few weeks everyone and I hope to meet some of you at a coffee morning when I'm ack from UK!

Congratulations Gray girl! That's great news. I'm keeping everything crossed you see what you want to at the scan. Remember my story though, we didn't see what we should have etc and then at 7 wks healthy heartbeat. I had awful cramps at 8wk 6 days and was convinced that was it but did scan and all fine, think it was just stretching or something. Hope the next week goes fast and stop googling! Easier said than done, I know, I did the whole time and still do!

My dr was happy to confirm after one as high score but for my own piece of mind I went back for a 2nd and 3rd and wish I hadn't as it wasn't doubling. Had early scan at 5 wks which showed gets. Sac but no yolk sac so thought was blighted ovum, then went at 7 wks to see a healthy heartbeat, I'm now 22 wks pregnant. I guess sometimes all the early checks we have with ivf can cause more worry as in my case. Good luck x edited by Awayfromhome15 on 16/07/2012

Hi everyone, Clare JLT & Layla, that's funny about the weight as I was 2 pounds heavier this morning than yesterday morning! I didn't think I had eaten more than usual, but I think it happens like that. I think in the third tri it will be more as well due to water etc. I'm trying not to worry to much, as you said Clare if you're comfortable that's all that matters. Also I feel if I am hungry then I must need to eat! I have bread every day now which I didn't before. I'm loving toasted sandwiches, my main addiction however has been pineapple, I can get through a whole one in a day. I seem to be getting really bad heartburn when I go to bed, so I'm trying to eat earlier in the evening now which I find helps. Re coffee, I think our best option is an organised coffee morning ad I saw admin wrote on the October board saying they weren't allowed to organise they're own, so I'll join you in sept if you girls meet before. Layla, I've heard lots of times that if the placenta is on the front you don't feel anything for quite a while, I still only feel mine when I'm lying down, never when I'm walking around, I was worried about that but everyone is different I guess, it must have been reassuring to have your 20 wk though. Sleep well everyone

Hi all, Haven't looked for a couple if days and wow, so many replies. Hope your all doing well. Welcome ToriaB. I completely understand how you feel, we moved here 2 years ago just after getting married and like lots of women I guess, it wasn't really my choice. I was so settled where we used to live in London and couldn't stand Dubai when I first got here so you're not alone. Lots of things are hard when you get here too, sealing with all the visa nonsense and changing your driving license etc. I don't know if you're working but I'm finished now as I'm a teacher so I finished at the end of term and not going back in sept. So if you ever want to meet up let me know. I'm going back to UK on 25th July and back at end if you want to meet up. No weird symptoms for me, but I do get very hot very quickly and finding the humidity so oppressive at the moment. I felt the baby move at 19 weeks, now 21 and can't really decide whether they're full on kicks or "flutters" but I see my tummy move, it's like a little alien in there! I'm scared of the whole thing and tending to bury my head in the sand rather than learning about it, there's so much to take on, but I guess we'll all muddle through. I'm planning to get tutorials from my sisters when I go home! Re weight gain, I have gained 13 pounds, 6kg's I think and I'm 21+2. I feel like this is alot, but fortunately, I didn't suffer from any morning sickness in my first tri, was just so hungry all the time so started to gain from the beginning. I also stopped running which I used to do alot at the start of my ivf cycle so I suppose not too bad. I am hungry all the time though! ToriaB- I'm at city and live in springs so our drive is 25-30 mins, I now it's quite far also my husband works in Deira so he has to come back to get me and then go if it happens when he's at work. Hopefully will be fine. Have a great weekend everyone!

Well done for getting Sorted on the furniture Louve. We went shopping this eeekmd and came home empty handed, think we were so overwhelmed by it all and I'm so indecisive! Although we're definitely decided on city, we're doing the tour this Friday, so I'll be sure to warn my husband not to ask those question, ha! Good luck silkie with finding the right dr. I've years some really good things about dr. Britt clauson at city who is new there but has extensive experience, mostly in the UK and us much easier to get an appointment with than dr. Elsa. I was going to go with her if I couldn't get scheduled with dr. Elsa. Coffee will be great. I'm flying to UK on 25th July and back end of august, so maybe when I'm back?

Hi all, sorry, I have been so rubbish at replying. I've even finished work ( I'm a teacher) but have been busier than ever, not sure what with though! Anyway I hope everyone is well and a big welcome to Louve, texlady and silkie16. Lilypad, did you mange to find somewhere for your 20 wk scan? Also did you get your results back? I hope all is well. Clare, hope you're having a good time in the UK, I can't wait to go back in 3 weeks, although I know the weather isn't great it will be a welcome change! Texlady, I live in Dubai also, so sorry not of much help. I see your planning to deliver at the American in Dubai though. My friend is with Dr. Braithwaite too and is very happy. Sorry to hear about the loss of the twin after the roller coaster of ivf. We had ivf too and am pregnant with one, I couldn't believe our luck when we were successful first time am so thankful. Louve, well done for buying the bugaboo on dubizzle. Think I'm going to get a bugaboo too as both my sisters have one and love them. There's so much to think about, bit I'm going to have a good look when I'm back in the UK. Silkie, that's a shame you haven't found a dr or hospital you're happy with. I think it's a really personal choice and what someone else might not be happy with may work for you. I'm delivering at city with dr elsa, although haven't met her yet, until I'm 28 wks as I've been with my ivf dr at Dubai mall until then who is just amazing and holds. Avert special place in my heart. Unfortunately she doesn't deliver so recommended dr elsa and city and Dubai mall are the same group so it's just easy. AW, that sounds great about your prenatal trainer. I used to run loads before but stopped on lead up to ivf and have just been swimming since, but really miss other forms of exercise. I won't be going back to work after, I've actually finished which feels weird at 20 weeks, but just the way things work out as a teacher. Good luck everyone. We should meet for a coffee a bit nearer the time if anyone fancies it.

Welcome Aurora! It's good the group is getting bigger! I can really understand why you would want to go home as well Lilypad. I always thought would go back to the UK but wasn't sure when I would gave to fly etc. I'm going back at the end of July for 5 weeks, so excited as haven't been back since Christmas which is long for me! We've been here for 2 years now. Lilypad, I'm with Alico too- the gold cover but they don't cover anything for us. However our insurance changed today to RSA and they're now covering some which is good. We've already had IVF here so this baby is costing lots before it's born! You're very good Clare on the gender thing, we found out we're having a boy. Lilypad, where have you been having your check ups so far? Are you registered with an ob? I would also highly recommend my current Dr. At Dubai Mall Dr Munira if you're not going to deliver here as she doesn't deliver. Did you fund out your test results yet? We haven't got anything for nursery yet but think I'm decided on bugaboo, both my sisters have one in the uk and they love them. Glad to hear you both had successful 20 week scans Aurora and Clare, mines on July 9th at 21 weeks, can't wait!

I haven't actually met with Dr. Elsa yet and am with another Dr at Dubail Mall who is fantastic but unfotunately doesn't deliver. Dr. Elsa has such a long waiting list so I am with her from 28 weeks. It's true what you say though Clare, I think many dr.s out here are very good and it is just important that you are happy with the one you go with. Lilypad, I'm not sure about the triple test, I had teh NT test done at 12 weeks with the blood test and I seem to remember they were calling this the triple test as they were testing for three different chromosones. Have you girls had your 20 week scan yet? Are you both staying here over the summer? I'm going back to the UK for a while, can't wait!

Hi both, I was thinking the same about no November board, thank you for starting one ClareJLT. I'm currently 18 weeks with my first too. Hope you're both feeling well, it's true about the increased energy in second tri. I'm swimming every other day which is really relaxing. I'm delivering in City Hospital with Dr. Elsa. x

Hi there, I had treatment at conceive, not with Dr. pankaj but with the fabulous Dr. Munira who does her consultations from Dubai Mall Medical Centre and then collection and transfer at conceive in Sharjah. I absolutely love Dr. M. We were lucky enough for it to work first time and found that hard enough! I can't imagine how strong you must be, but very glad to see your persistence paid off :-). I know that we had the option of freezing in Sharjah. Just to let you know Dr. Fakih is in Dubai, correct me if I'm wring but I'm pretty sure he is and from reading I think you think he's in AD. Good luck with your next journey x

I highly recommend Dr.Munira, I have been seeing her for a while now and am undergoing fertility treatment. She is fantastic, she always has time to talk through everything with you and if I still have questions I will email her and she replies quickly. Her nurse is great also, all in all I am very happy and have lots of faith in her. I feel very luck to have found her first time! edited by Awayfromhome15 on 07/02/2012
