I'm sorry for yet another LL question but I dont know what to do. Our lease expired end of May. Landlord wants to increase our rent 40% (RERA calculator says 10%). He also says he is selling our apartment (& i have heard from the new LL who says we can stay at same rent, he doesnt care!). Anyway, problem is maids visa needs renewing next week and I cant do that without a lease. The landlord wants to clear his debts and leave the country and keeps mentioning he has sold the property (althought I know for a fact no money has changed hands, nor a new title deed prepared). My husband is sure he registered our lease with Ejari (when we initially sponsored our maid last year) although we cant find the confirmation. I know we are within right to stay for 10% increase but I really need a new lease to do the visa... gaaah! Anyone had experience? I have been trying to call DMRC but can't get through..

Thanks so much babyrat. I wanted to update my thread in case anyone else has this problem; I did as you suggested and went to Etihad at Marina Mall - they re-issued the ticket updating that ID had been sighted so all is good to go! Thanks so much!

Thanks for your reply hilsbils - I'm asking for a friend who isnt having much luck finding information/support. Thought maybe some EW ladies may know or can point me in the right direction...? Good luck with your journey, hope all is healthy and successful.
