It's gone 'sour' :( but now she doesn't want to go home. She needs her own work visa with sponsorship so she can sponsor her kids but unsure if an employer can give that to a married woman, I know they can if you are widowed or divorced just not sure about the separated status?

Geordie expat if you don't mind my asking where/ what did you get? I got a job as an Admin Assistant. It was advertised on this site. To be honest I gave up targeting particular companies quite early on. Very few ever came back to me. I spent most of my time on recruitment agency websites, signing up to as many as I could. I also registered with every job hunting website that exists in the UAE. I picked out certain words from my CV and used them to search. Also remember to check on here at least once a day, both the forum and the jobs section. I applied for any job I felt I had some experience in, along with others which I just decided I would like to try, if given the opportunity as well as those I knew I was way over qualified and too old for! I must have more than 20 different copies of my CV along with numerous letters. All I can say is keep on trying and when you do get in front of an interviewer, don't ask for a fortune in salary. I just asked for what I felt I needed to help give us a half decent life and hopefully save a little. thanks! Happy for you ! (it is expensive living here) edited by Johnjul on 07/02/2013

Geordie expat if you don't mind my asking where/ what did you get? I also have 22 years customer service and sales experience including credit control and solutions and accounting experience with a major uk high street bank. The comments on here are no surprise to me as the service and efficiency I experience here in dubai is shockingly bad across many industries. I just wonder where I should target rather than applying 100 times (hat off to you!)

I Always use www.nhs.uk if I want to check the facts. I trust the NHS because they are accountable and funded by the government; they wont give you something you dont need simply to make money but they Will give you what you need! There is information on there about the facts and also the myths surrounding vaccines. For any other issues just bear in mind that depending in your location the recommendations may be different. Chicken pox vaccine is still considered optional as far as I know, my boys both had the chicken pox with no ill effects :) edited by Johnjul on 30/01/2013

it's very hard, we lost our third baby, heartbeat then no heartbeat! D&C is not pleasant. My husband took it worse than I did, we women often accept the difficulties better and have a better understanding. He then Changed his mind, he didn't want to have another baby. However, time is a great healer and now we have boys of 8, 5 and 10 months, he is a delight and we are all so happy with him. I do still think of the baby we lost and probably always will. it's such an emotional time, look after each other and like you say keep focused on your goal of being a mummy :)

can only imagine it would increase the value of your house as it will be more accessible from the airport. no noise issues at the moment, just the odd cargo plane, but some of those are massive noisy things! Have you considered the groundwater level, I know some people are selling because they are worried about that! If its gc west then you may also want to check out what is going on at either side of the community, eg building and landfill is happening right now! they are filling in natural lakes of water. The lake at the Marriott is being emptied continually because the groundwater threatens to flood the surrounding area. I know I have rising damp in my house, don't own it though! Maybe get some proff advice as agents just want to sell sell sell? The properties are leasehold not freehold but if you are ok with that then no problem there! It is a lovely place to live, Good luck!
