Hi ladies, I'd also like to join the next meet-up. I'm due 25th June, but may get induced before then... can't believe it's all gone so quickly :)

I recently hired a boat for my husband's 40th. I have actually been on this boat a few times and always had a good time. They go for 4 hours which makes such a difference having a slightly longer time They also provide burgers and 4 alcoholic drinks per person if that's what you're looking for. The cost was comparable to the other yachts which only went for 2 hours and provided nothing else. El Mundo Yacht (you'll see it at the Marina next to Barasti). Contact Sean: 0505517406

Di@DXB, you've missed the point... whether you think underpants are for boys or girls, the point is they're called "under pants"... as in worn UNDERNEATH something... the pants. It's like if they were called "undertrousers" you would assume it is the garment that is worn under the trousers.... But 'panties' are not worn over your clothes so why do they not call them underpanties in the US? Yes Di@DXB, that is also a good question, but that's a separate subject... it doesn't change the fact that it doesn't make sense that you're willing to accept the word "underpants - to be worn under pants/trousers", but you wont accept that pants are the same as trousers. This thread is hilarious, who thought we'd spend any time on this crazy debate :) hahaha

Something that drives me batty is when people call shorts or trousers, pants Pants to the British ( who after all invented English ) are underwear. Imagine the embarrassment of a small English schoolgirl in an international school who was told to "just wear her pants " for games . I cried with shame for hours and it still haunts me. Just to stir the pot... Some of my British friends call underwear "Underpants". This would lead you to think that it is correct calling trousers "pants""... assuming that underpants go under pants.

I found some helpful links about sponsoring a maid, but it does not mention how to transfer a visa. Also - all these links mention only certain nationalities can be sponsored as maids. How do we go about sponsoring a Zimbabwean maid? http://www.dubai.ae/en/Lists/HowToGuide/DispForm.aspx?ID=45 http://www.visaprocess.ae/details.php?page=maid_sponsorship http://www.guide2dubai.com/info/sponsor-house-maid.asp http://www.dubaifaqs.com/visa-maid-uae.php

@Trixibelle: We're hiring a Zimbabwean maid and need to transfer her visa from another family. My husband is on a British PP and I am on South African, so I don't believe we'll need to get the police letter, but my question is about where to even start... Which office/authority do we go to in Dubai to start this transfer? Thanks

Hi BeeBee32... CONGRATS! I am also recently pregnant and have been doing quite a bit of research. I found quite a lot of feedback on some of the doctors. The one's that came up often were: * City Hospital: Dr. Britt & Dr. Elsa (both had excellent reviews) * Cooper Health Clinic: Dr. Natalyia (good reviews and apparently gets straight to the point if that's what you're looking for) I could only get an appointment at CH mid November, so I'm going to see how that goes. In the meantime I am seeing Dr. Maia Danielson at AH, she seems really nice/easy to talk to (spent over an hour talking). Does anyone else have feedback on her? (sorry to hijack your chat).

@plumie & SA_Babe: Thanks SO much for the information. Half of the help has been just knowing that there are great options and that you've had good experiences. I think you're right SA_Babe, I will make appointments with a few and see how I feel.. and right too about having someone motherly around! Thanks for the advice... It's bit of a scary/wonderful/amazing/overwhleming time. x
