Hi ladies.. im with Dr Anne, due to deliver in around 5 weeks and as I mentioned in a previous post although everyone has different ideas of what they are looking for in a doctor, personally, I cannot speak highly enough of her! She is from the UK and has many years of experience (more than 20yrs as far as I know) From my experience she is very supportive of whichever birth method you choose. To be honest, Im not sure if she would even raise the subject of CS unless, like I did, you want to discuss the options with her so Blondie I can't see you having any issues over a natural delivery. Im sorry Im not sure how long she will let you go over your due date but again I would imagine if you have any concerns she will be happy to listen and support you, or at least talk you through the pros and cons in a non biased way. Good luck ladies!

Philly.. i hope everything goes ok with the GTT results. I have mine in a couple of weeks. Im not sure how im gonna go with fasting though.. although i have arranged an early morning appointment so should do most of my fasting overnight.. just have to avoid the midnight snack & gallons of water if i can't sleep!! :( I went along to the bumps & babes coffee morning. It was good to meet up with new mums and other bumps. Im hoping to get along to the one in MOE next monday. Id love to do the Limetree on 2nd but ive got a hospital appointment and will have hubby tagging along so will have to pass to the next one.. although i am drooling at the thought of their carrot cake!! Haha Star007 we're having the same problems with names. We choose a few names we think we like and then talk about them so much we get tired of them & have to start again. With our pram we arranged for the shop to send it by courier from the UK as it was 3 large boxes (mostly made up of packaging) and would've probably cost us even more paying for excess baggage on the flight. Im sure if you remove all the packaging it wouldn't cost half as much but i was just paranoid of the pram arriving on the baggage carousel covered in scratches before we had even used it. Has anyone tried any pregnancy pillows and what do you think of them? Keep well ladies and chat soon

Congrats all you ladies in team pink!! How exciting!! It will definitely make shopping easier. We have bought a couple of sleep suits and vests but I really don't want everything in neutral colours so will probably only get what we need for the first few days and go on a mad shopping spree when we get home. Exciting times! Star007 We eventually settled on the Jane Rider formula travel system. It comes with a carrycot, pushchair & car seat. We got it when we went back to the UK for Christmas and had it shipped over which added an extra 300 odd pounds to the cost :( but we loved it as it seems very easy to manage & the carrycot can also be used in the car which will be good for longer journeys. I definitely think its easier buying a car than a pram though..hehe.. so many to choose from & so much information to take in!! Hubby and I have started to think of names.. again because we've decided not to find out the xxx we're having to think of both which is difficult. I like some of the old names but they seem to be getting more and more popular. We'll try to make a shortlist of both and no doubt choose something completely different when we actually see our LO!! Definitely feeling more movement these days which is great although then of course when I don't feel anything for a while I start to get a bit anxious!! Do we ever stop worrying about these little ones?? Does anyone else get a real nervous feeling in their tummy when bubba is moving? I have an almost continuous feeling of butterflies in my stomach which I have been told is probably bubba wriggling & moving. At first I thought i was losing the plot and just living in a constant state of anxiety but am learning to go with it now that I know what it is. Anyway ladies keep me posted on a meet up and keep well x

so glad to see this thread up and running again.. i was really enjoying getting to know other May ladies and sharing experiences! Would also love to catchup..I've just finished work and I'm starting to climb the walls already!! i'm a bit shy going to things on my own at first so it would be good if i knew there were ladies to look out for..lol! I don't mind the trip from AD to Dubai.. it passes the day and is a good excuse to wander round the malls :) All going well with our bump.. we've still managed to hold off finding out the gender although its getting harder with every visit and hubby spends more time looking at the scan trying to guess... even though he says he doesn't want to know!! Philly we did get the CD at the 20 week scan at FMC but paid AED150 which we thought was a bit of a rip off as it was only a couple of minutes long.. nothing like the 12 week one when we got the full scan.. never mind! Muurtje.. how's the sickness? i hope its well and truly gone by now?? Glad to hear everything is going well with you all x

Hi Ladies! Thanks Lexi! I went to the City and was really happy with the hospital and felt comfortable with Dr Anne so I think I will stick with it, however I've been thinking that I should perhaps open a file with the Corniche hospital in case of an emergency or if I don't think Im going to make it to Dubai on time.... I'll have this baby somewhere yet :/ We also got to see bubba who decided to put on a show & do a complete somersault for us... very cute! Im having problems getting anything over my waistline!! So far everything still fits around the thighs & bum (not for long Im sure) but I cant get anything buttoned so Ive had to buy my first pair of maternity jeans - other than that Ive been living in leggings and maxi dresses but will hopefully pick some stuff up when I get home to the UK also in a couple of weeks. Are any of you ladies going to or planning to go to any pre-natal exercise classes? Im thinking of joining something when I get back in Jan if for no other reason to hopefully meet up with some other mums to be and maybe even manage to keep the extra weight under control... especially after the silly season :) Anyway I hope u & ur bumps are all keeping well x

Thanks for responding Muurtje. Im going for the tour of City on Fri and have an appointment booked with Dr Anne Phillip there.. apparently she's quite new which is why I havent seen any recommendations so far so I'll see how I go. I'll also book a tour of American and then decide from there. Good to hear you had a good experience at City Philly. I agree with you.. you hear so many horror stories about the different hospitals that you just get freaked out. I suppose its really up to us to decide what's good for us. What suits someone won't suit someone else! Muurtje - sorry you're still feeling awful.. I had it until around week 13 and I agree it just feels like having a constant hangover...yuk! I really hope it passes soon for you and you can get back to feeling human again!... Although i must say im not sure the forgetfulness passes... im still walking about in a dizzy bubble.. not sure if its pregnancy or old age creeping in ;)

Hi ladies.. ive been lurking for a while & have finally plucked up the courage to join :) Im due at the start of May and am a first timer and with all my family in UK and none of my friends having had babies here I'm a tad bewildered by it all!!! lol... Is there anyone else in Abu Dhabi? Trying to decide on a hospital at the minute.. seem to be limited in AD and am now considering Dubai either City or American... (although knowing my luck Id go into labour on a Thursday evening during rush hour and give birth to my LO on the SZR)..Anyone else in the same boat? Has anyone had any experience or heard anything about Al Noor in AD? Stupid question alert (yep another one)... do you phone the hospital and make an appointment to have a tour and then decide on a doc or is the other way round? Ive been seeing a fab ob/gyn here in AD at Healthplus but unfortunately she doesn't deliver so hence the current (not the first & def not the last) tizzy i'm getting myself into.. Anyway hope you're all doing well and wishing us all happy & healthy pregnancies :)
