Toddler town!!! My son is now 23 months but started when he was 14 months and I was a mess. The first day I had to go in and hug him goodbye and stay in reception for an hour. He lasted nearly that before the tears started but then for the next week there were more and more tears. At the time I was really concerned thinking surely I should be in the room comforting him and making him feel better and everyone at the time told me no it is best to be upbeat, give him a kiss and say see you later have a lovely day. I used to still wait in reception out of sight of him. But after 2 weeks the tears stopped and maybe it was just a lip crying face. 3 weeks in and he used to go in with the teacher and not a tear in sight. A lot of nurseries have this approach but what made me love toddler town more is the fact they have CCTV in the classrooms that you can watch from home. So if I was having doubts if he was okay or if he had a bad night sleep etc I would be able to see him. The teachers at Toddler Town were great and would give him hugs and plenty of reassurance during the intro period. On top of that the facilities and environment is beautiful. Definitely take a look!

Thanks bLUE413 that is a shame but like you said there isn't much they can do if you have to include 3 hours of Arabic. Definitely liked NAS alot as the school looked great, facilities and teachers were really helpful. Most importantly children looked happy! Why did you go with that school out of all the others available?

Thanks all - Dubai eye1 - I am planning on going to see Repton next week. In regard to the theatre when is this going to be finished? where were your children before and why did you decide to leave (if you dont mind me asking)? -lovingthesun & blue413 - I liked NAS it seemed like they were not all talk. They had proven schools globally, great facilities and the staff seemed lovely. If you had to say anything negatively (or not as positively about NAS) what would you say? I went to see Kings Al Barsha last week and being honest was a bit disappointed. The site on the outside looked promising and obviously the reputation of the original Kings school. But within the school it seemed half finished with the foundation classes very plain, wires hanging not secure, empty spaces with no excitement to it. Maybe this will all change when it is completed and/or maybe my expectation was a little too high - obviously this is only basing a school on the superficial element, so would be interested to hear from Kings al Barsha parents to hear if learning standards are met. Might also take a look at hartland as well but obviously its a bit harder to judge as the school wont be open until September but have heard the teaching team they have got together is really good.

Thanks both I am planning on seeing Foremake and Repton next week. I went to see Kings Al Barsha yesterday and being honest was a bit disappointed. I have seen Nord Anglia and felt more comfortable that the school was not only going to try and impress with fancy facilities but the teaching staff were going to do a great job in teaching my little one. Such a mind field as its only foundation and primary but you dont want to spend all this money and select a school that doesn't deliver. Might also take a look at hartland as well but obviously its a bit harder to judge as the school wont be open until September but have heard the teaching team they have got together is really good.

Can anyone advice how to keep a 3 month entertained. As my son hates being put down for too long. So he will play on his gym or sit in his rocker for 5-10 mins but then is bored and wants to be picked up. Which is hard as end up not doing anything ie having a shower etc. any ideas?

Hi ladies new to the forum and expecting end of june. As i am now starting to try abd plan for after the baby is here. I was wondering if any of you will be going back to work. As i might have to at 3-4 months and therefore wanted if anyone had any advice on nurseries that take babies and/or live out nannies. Or if i should not risk it and just have to quit my job. All opinions greatly received. Thanks!!

Hi ladies Happy new year! Help needed if anyone can. I am also a June due date but have been told I have a high risk pregnancy as my cervix might be weak. Therefore can anyone recommend a great doctor for me to register with who good for these type of pregnancies as I might need a cerclage (hopefully not) and just to be monitored more ie scans every 2 weeks edited by Debz31 on 02/01/2013
