Hi ladies, I hope you are all well and surviving these summer temperatures (I'm sure it will only get worse!). Cleo - when is your new due date? Aish - how are you holding up? How was your appointment with Latifa? I'm all registered and have my appointment with them on the 7th of July, in parallel still seeing my preferred OBGYN. I'm ok with the double appointments as that means more ultrasounds. :) I'm just past the 22-week mark and already walking around with what looks and feels like a basketball underneath my shirt - it's hard to imagine that I'll get double the size by the end of it. Yikes! Ladies - are most of you escaping for the summer or planning to stay around Dubai? Dx

Hi all, I hope you are all feeling well! Tuesday will be 19-weeks for me, some weeks feel like they crawl by and then on reflection overall I can't believe I'm at the half-way point for twins! Xane31 - welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy! Aish - how are your appointments going at Latifa/Al-Wasl? How have you been feeling? Cleo - sorry to hear about your pain, a friend of mine has been seeing the chiropractor at the Primavera Medical Clinic in Healthcare City and highly recommends her. I hope you are able to get some relief soon!

Hi - to the new ladies on the board, welcome and congratulations on your pregnancies! Aish - I called Latifa regarding registration and they sent me to Al Barsha clinic first (we went there yesterday), I now have my health card but I'm a little confused regarding the appointments. Are you planning to use Latifa for all of your maternity appointments? Or will you split the time between your OBGYN and Latifa? I would prefer to stay with my OB but obviously want to be registered and have access to Latifa should I require it due to pre-term labour etc... How's everyone feeling? I'll be 17-weeks tomorrow and finally caved and purchased some maternity clothes yesterday, so comfortable and wish I had purchased them sooner! :)

YMO - thank you, that is definitely something I need to consider and do more research on as to whether I stay with my current OBGYN or make the switch in order to be able to have the delivery at City Hospital. Deeva - hmm, yes thank you for flagging this it does appear they both fall under Mediclinic. I will have to ask my doctor about this when I see him next week.

Hi ladies, I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant with twins and had my heart set on delivering at City Hospital, however I just found out that due to a "dispute" my OB's clinic is having with them at the moment they are no longer delivering there and my options (if I were to stay with him) are Medcare or Welcare Hospital. Did any of you deliver at these hospitals? If so, would love to hear your experiences (both positive and negative!). Thanks!

Aish - I'm glad to hear you are doing well. Did you register at Latifa yet? I need to get that done next week. I'm still on a medical leave of absence (I'm not sure if/when they will release me back to work) but for now I'm working remotely so I'm trying to keep myself distracted and have a little daily routine to try and help keep me sane and fill my day! Kelly - did you have the cerclage placed in Dubai? If so, which doctor did you see? I'm sorry to hear they are being negative, not what you need when it's a scary enough time as it is! I have been very lucky with my doctor and he has been very supportive and encouraging - I went back and forth about having the procedure done here or going to the US/UK (I looked into the Trans-Abdomal cerclage too) but in the end decided to put my trust in my local doctor. My cervix measured 1.7 at the initial scan, then .97 and then 1.6 the morning of the surgery - with the stitch in now the measurement at my last appointment was 2.6 (I'm just keeping my fingers and toes crossed it's secure enough to hold these two babies in for as long as possible!). How often are you being monitored? Is this your first pregnancy? If you need a friendly ear I'm here, I know how scary it is for you.

Hi ladies! Yay! Lovely to see some new faces on the board... :) Tatjana - ah, baby number three I'll be asking you lots of advice! It's the second pregnancy for me (first ended in an early miscarriage) so very thankful we've made it to week 13 today. I have met Dr. Josza (he's very nice), he removed an ovarian cyst for me several years ago when he was at the American Hospital. Banana Juice - congrats! Is this baby number 1 for you? How long have you been in Dubai? Gingerelle - welcome to Dubai! I'm a newbie when it comes to OBGYN care and when they will allow you to fly etc... so hopefully one of the other ladies on the board will be able to answer your question on it. In terms of OBGYN care I have seen several great doctors here over the years, Dr. Josza (Healthbay PolyClinic in Jumeriah) and Dr. Rosalie Sant (Healthcare City). Aish - congrats on the twins! How's your pregnancy been so far? Mine has been a little complicated, bleeding started at 5 1/2 weeks (so scary) so was placed on modified bed rest, then at 8-weeks they diagnosed short/incompetant cervix so I had the cerclage (stitch) placed on Sunday - surgery went well but now on strict bed rest for the next few days. I'm going stir crazy in the house - I long to be outside again!!

Hi Tatjana! I'm excited to 'meet' another due in October! Congratulations. Is this your first little one? I too seem to be hungry all the time, snacking regularly helps keep the nausea away which is good as I was totally miserable in the beginning and had to force myself to eat which wasn't pleasant. Which OBGYN are you seeing? Dawn
