The Tutorbank apparently has 100% success rate for students appearing for the 11+ upwards and selective entrance exams to league UK Schools. I think the minimum age they give tutorials to is 7 ish

Hi Ladies, I am in a desperate need of help, my daughter is turning 3 next year and I am applying for schools, but I'm a working mother with no relatives or Nanny and I finish work at 3. I can't find a school that has a waiting room or activity club that could keep my daughter until I come and pick her up. If you have any suggestions or ideas on what could i do I would be really thankful, as I now considering quitting my Job for that, and God knows we need the money. Appreciate your swift reply Tx I have a friend who picks up my little one and keeps her safe and snug till I return from work. Do you think you could ask a friend? I am happy to ask her if she can help you, an email will help..

Dont bite your lip. Too many ignorant rude people these days in Dubai. Tell them to back off! LOL, I still can't getover this bloke who was standing behind a couple at the ATM, made himself a comfortable window between their shoulders and was so concerned about their transaction that he almost fell over them! The guy did once turn around and stare but didn't seem to bother the rude guy.

There is a highly entertaining monthly event called [b'>Full Moon Drumming by Dubai Drums[/b'>, I have taken visitors and friends, they definitely have [b'>Camels[/b'>, belly dancers and bon fire too. The Children just love it, they make you howl like a Wolf which the children find quite amusing with the wild drumming.

Can anyone suggest an unusual present for a very special friend's Baby Boy who is turning 6 months soon. They are based in London and have almost everything available there. Has any one or a mum come across something which is quite useful for the baby and not so common? And how do I send it across apart from paying extremely expensive courier services? My budget is 500 max. Would appreciate some suggestions Thanks

Thanks Feefmick, Dragon and Hassli for taking the effort of going through my post and giving your suggestions :) Hopefully I would have a reasonable phone bill in the New Year! Season's Greetings

The closest feel would be to either have one at your backyard with a bunch of friends. Or perhaps join Dubai Drums Full moon night, which I beieve is on this Friday (the nearest one to 5 nov) where they do have Bon Fire (mostly) but I doubt celebration of Guy Fawks night. We have every night fireworks at Um Seq which you could enjoy with the children. Being in Dubai, we are grateful for their tolerance towards our festivities. Hope this helps

yes, you need one in your car or you won't be able to do the registration... I got my car registered just 4 months ago, they didn't even mention I need one. But yes it definitely should be Mandatory I believe.

My children used to be at Horizon. Its one of the best Schools with lovely staff! If you are looking at "Acadamics"... then perhaps this is not the School as its more of a Montessori style with happy content children. We can see a huge difference in Horizon and our present School. I would suggest a School Tour especially around midday-ish, when everybodys a bit tired.. you would still see Smiling faces of both Teachers andthe Children :)

So whats the update on the Mysterious Cooker situ? I must admit, I'm curious to know. Do you have any pets in the house? Maybe they are trying to have a peep onto the cooker especially if you have their favourite meats cooking. A dog's paws can easily change settings..

Get a camera installed somewhere well hidden, maybe your child is curious or enjoying the cheeky attention of worried mommy or perhaps your maid is playing up? Else get the Handyman in to check the fault.. Small piece of advice- always switch off the cooker from the main socket as well to avoid mishaps.

I don't know about the camera model but i had a point and shoot canon that got a lot of sand in it,i vacuumed it and this was enough to open it, there was a terrible crunchy sound though, when it opened i blew more sand out and vacuumed again. The camera works fine now, but there is still sand in the lens that only professional cleaning will get out. In general its fine the photos especially close ups arent as clear as they used to be. i use more for places i wouldn't bring my good camera. if its digital can't you just take the memory card out and get the photos that way? Thanks Mannikat, would give it a try! And yes, didn't realise I could get the memory card out and sort out the pics further, thanks a ton!

This happened to me, i dropped my camera while out in Liwa. back in Dubai, I took my camera back to the Cannon and they cleaned it. I am sorry but I can't remember how much this cost but I think this will be your only option. Thanks mrsb, I guess I will get a quotation. Seems there is no home remedy for this, I did think of a dryer and even a vacum cleaner LOL
