Hi there, Have to agree with the above poster . You are going to love AD. I have not lived in AD but have lived in other parts of the ME and can tell you it really is very different. I am also outside Washington DC and will be hopefully moving to AD in the near future, so if you like, I would be happy to meet up with you before you leave and give you some pointers on what to expect. Cheers lambertg

Well I'm used to being in a one of the best school districts in the US where teachers are very proficient in their teaching skills, where kids are constantly challenged and where those that have learning differences have all the necessary resources available to them. I know I will not be getting anything close in AD but what I wanted to know was, how do you find the school? Are the kids challenged? Are teachers all recruited from the US or do they employ teachers from other countries. Do they follow the common core standards? If so are the teachers well versed in these standards if they are not from the US. What are their teaching credentials? Do they prepare the kids for college? What is the GPA scores like upon graduation?. Do they do the SATS, AP or IB? I plan to enquire more from the school but I would prefer to hear from someone that have kids there. I look forward to your response. lambg

Hi there I am sure your son will be able to make first communion. There is a catholic church in ABu dhabi with a huge congregation. When you register him got catechism let them know that he has attended first communion back home and that you would like him to continue. Have a look at the link below. Hope this helps http://www.stjosephsabudhabi.org/mass-schedule/
