If the control treatment is already done then I hope it has cleaned up the mess. Don't forget to spray the inside of your vacuum. You can use the same treatment that you used on the carpets/floor treatment. It will kill the fleas & ticks that didn't die before, or they could lay eggs in your vacuum and crawl right back out...

Dragon Mart has loads of variety at affordable rates. I think I saw some small size key operated safes in Lulu, Al Barsha also. But safer bet is Dragon Mart.

There is a stand upstairs in Mercato near Monsoon which does the most beautiful arabic calligraphy on jewellery (cufflinks /necklaces etc). Good value too. Hope they cater to pens also. You need to check with them.

Hi ImCon, I would recommend a good massage. I don't think any physio would be impressed with anyone taking up valuable appointment time for an overall stretching. They treat specific complaints and I know there is a significant wait list for the good physio's around Dubai. I agree. But is massage also safe during pregnancy? Any specialist massage centre can you recommend? Thanks!

does anyone know good tailor in dubai for pakistani dress stitching with reasonable rate ? Neha Tailors, Al Satwa Main Bazaar, Dxb. It's right in the big parking lot behind the Grand Mosque of Satwa Bazaar. Reasonable rates and great stitching. Plus they don't take many days. Hardly 3-4 days. I got plenty of dresses stitched for a family wedding, plus sarees etc also. Satisfied with their services.

Ladies, can I ask, if you worked in your home country and then were unable to when you moved to AD, how did you manage the transition? Did you find it difficult? Are there opportunities to volunteer? x Of course it'll be very difficult to cope with the sudden change. But as someone mentioned earlier that it's something illegal, unless you obtain relevant visa for your practice / profession. I'll reiterate that it's very important, like very very important to have a legal permit / visa for whatever you're doing or not doing. God forbid if in trouble due to noncompliance, expatriates end up in huge trouble. There are plenty of volunteering opportunities wrt social work. I'm not too sure if that's what you intend to ask? All the best for your relocation project!!

Thank you for the replies. Oh dear I feel so worried now!! How bad is it going into a new job on the first day and saying you're pregnant?!! Do you think they'll just tell me not to bother? When should I say before or after the medical? I'm literally only 4 weeks gone. x Many congratulations :) Everything will go smooth & in your favour. All you need to do is stay calm, don't panic, and on top, just be positive. I agree to the earlier posts that being honest and upfront about your situation ahead of joining will keep you off added pressure and anxiety (which isn't good for you anyways). So talk to you Manager asap and relieve yourself of this added strain. I'm pretty hopeful that the employers will understand your condition. Take care good care of your health. And don't worry too much. All will go fine :)

Oman could be a good option for visa run & mini break. You can fly to the very beautiful Salalah, stay for two nights and be back without any hassle.

Hi ladies This may be a silly question but what are the repurcussions of seeing a gynacologist as an unmarried ***ually active woman here in Dubai? No question is a silly question. We all ask in order to know! And as far as repercussions are concerned, you are totally safe. There is a confidentiality maintained by all clinics and hospitals. So if you are seriously suffering from some gyne related issues, you should immediately consult a gyne doctor so as to safeguard yourself as well as your partner(s). All the best!

Is there any reputable place where i can take it, where they can assess the diamond in my presence and give me a decent qoute for the ring? You won't be getting a very good rate, cuz as known, diamonds are bad in resale. But you could try Pure Gold Jewellers. Or as a last resort, you can always visit Gold Souk and get a quote from various shops in same market.

Monteblanc would be a drain on the pocket. I doubt if anyone would be sane enough to blow off three to four thousand dirhams on a single pen. As Montblanc has been selling pens for over one hundred years you might be wrong about that....... There might be a small niche buyers for such extravagant purchases, but my personal bias is that one should save money instead of wasting insanely on such good for nothing expensive items, that too as gifts. There are plenty of human beings on roads to sleep on empty stomach or who have no money to feed their children, put on reasonable clothes, give education etc etc. Look at them and then decide in which direction your spending should be going, or at least managed, while striking a balance!!

Why not visit Doha? It's a 50 minute flight. My dear, she asked options for places at driving distance not flight options :) Perhaps the couple just wants to drive along on nice roads enjoying each others company while listening to some romantic music!!

Monteblanc would be a drain on the pocket. I doubt if anyone would be sane enough to blow off three to four thousand dirhams on a single pen. You could speak to Mr. Shaheen on +971508341877. His outlet is in Naif, Dubai. Last year I got personalised engraved cufflinks and a 'Cross' pen from him for my husband 's bday. Both items cost me within 300dhs. Great quality, excellent finish & wonderful price. They may also have more variety of products. Check with them. All the best :)

This sounds like so much fun :D How about some exciting action followed by music and food??!!?? My top recommendation would be "Switch Bowling" in India Court, Ibn Battuta Mall. Have you been there yet? You can have some bowling competitions amongst yourselves. Then they have karaoke set up available in there. You can sing off your lungs & have a ball of a time. Once exhausted, have a sumptuous lunch, either in the same place or any restaurant in the mall (there are plenty of nice ones). Have a soooper fun day ladies. And yes, I would surely recommend a pre reservation!! :D

Please excuse my ignorance, but I find this area more concerned with gyne related issues (esp the mention of estrogen & progesteron). And if that is so, you should consult Dr Michael Fakih or Dr Ahmed Fakih or Dr Ghina Shami. All are experienced doctors and will provide a beneficial way forward. All the best!!

Happy Birthday to the lil one in advance!! Depends where you're located. Spinny's, Carrefore, etc have nice choco cakes and you can get some toppings/cake decoration stuff under the same roof. In my opinion, if you want to do something different, esp in this hot hot weather, try Baskin Robin's ice cream cake, readily available off the shelf :) Beat the heat & enjoy your party!!

I bought a set of 5 types of different sewing needles (pack of today 50 needles) from Daiso (Andalusia Court), Ibn Batuta Mall, Dxb at a price of AED 10.00 only. They have threads, needles, knitting & embroidery stuff available at very affordable prices and variety.

I find all these comments so terrifying. It seems more of a master - bonded slave relationship than a parent - child relationship. We shouldn't forget that the first step towards correcting a behaviour starts with warning; whereas thrashing comes later if it's a repetitive action. Rest, God help you all!

I would suggest you shouldn't get harsh as it will only add towards his/her rebellious attitude. Make your child sit and talk to you. As a parent you need to politely make your child understand the repercussions of such careless behaviour, especially if the family is an expatriate. God forbid, anything harmful can happen to the child if he / she is alone, unattended, at late hours. There shouldn't be a communication gap between patents and children. Talk to them politely and make them understand the good & the bad. As teenagers, manage to give them their space, cause they need it at this stage. Just manage your child wisely, with love & affection :)
