There was a crapload of gorgeous looking white leather furniture being moved into Moti Mahal on Thursday (and painting going on late that night when I stumbled in!) so it has to be opening soon!!!

Found it this time at C4 -- just where you said, CA, big spice bins -- and labeled Karkadé, evelyn2000, just as you instructed! Thanks to everyone for the tips -- I NEVER would have found it on my own! edited by amkcbrandon on 18/10/2012

It was ice cream and coffee. We didn't try anything. But it looks really cute! I love the veg sandwich from Steak Escape in the US so I will be trying it here soon. How were the cheesy chips? Think we're having Rossovivo tonight but hubby's going to try Tangerine - we're walking down to Spinneys in a sec so we'll see how it smells when we go by!

Steak Escape menu under the door when I woke up! I saw someone leaving Signature Studio with a bag yesterday when I did the school run ... ... and there are a bunch of tables and chairs and umbrellas outside Moti Mahal!

Jin Ja is the Asian place opening up across from Donner Express. Ci Gusta! is the Italian place that's right past WH SMith ("The Italian Food Experience!") Walked by Signature Studio earlier and it looks awesome! No updates on Hatam -- Moti Mahal isn't open yet, but things are moving really fast there so it looks like they may be opening up soon!

Thanks, ladies! Looks like I'll be off to Geant this week -- or try C4 again, I guess I just missed it! I use mine to make a strawberry hibiscus margarita -- also a very refreshing summer drink! ;)

Are there any ladies out there with helpful, gracious, smiling husbands?? Actually, yes -- not that I can take any credit for it or anything (because he's like this all on his own!) but my husband is about as perfect as anyone can get. edited by amkcbrandon on 18/09/2012

Check the bread making course at Table 9 - since we did it we bake the most amazing sourdough, brioche, fougasse and wholemeal breads. Recipes are easy and fool proof, my 5 year old did a beautiful fougasse last week-end with almost any help! I would gain 100 lbs almost instantly if I knew how to bake breads that fabulous!! It's probably ALL I would do - bake and eat!!!!!!!! Lol

It should be 6 gr salt per 500 gr sugar. But it must be Fleur de sel, in order to get the crunch!!! Good luck :) Where do you find Fleur de sel around here? It's been on my list for 3 weeks!!!!

Rossivivo is located in Millennium Tower -- they are fabulous! We order from them all the time -- love love love! I just finished reading the Timeout Dubai article (because we're some serious pizza lovers around here!). I can also highly recommend the pizza at Ronda Locatelli -- we stayed at the Atlantis resort last night, and my husband ordered that exact same pizza. It was too die for!!!!!!

I was in Bath & Body Works yesterday and tried out their new "White Barn Collection" -- I know it sounds weird (it did to me!) but the black pepper bergamot candles smelled so fabulous I could have licked it! Previously, I've ordered all my stuff from the UK website, if I can stand to wait for it (which I usually do, because I HATE to get low on my products!). The UK prices are cheaper, and I always order a TON of stuff. I wouldn't order from them now, though (only because the weather is so hot, and a lot of the stuff I buy has a tendency to melt in the heat!). Also, I was in the US before and there wasn't a shop near me. BUT -- now that I'm in Dubai -- there's a Lush store in the Dubai Mall (which I love and go to about once a week just to buy a little somethin' somethin' -- the girls in there are super fab and I love love love the smell of all their products -- their stuff is seriously my fave in the WORLD!). They have a Facebook page (Lush UAE) which says they also have stores in Deira City Centre, Mercato and Mirdiff City Centre. I haven't been into either of those yet, though. Definitely pop into one if you can -- they're great about letting you sample stuff to see if you like it (yet another reason I am in love with them -- when my daughter & I go we could seriously spend hours ... and lots of cash!). No, I don't work for them -- but I would probably move into a store if I could!

The Lush shampoo is called "Soak & Float" -- they also have a treatment (Snake Oil Scalp Treatment Bar). I haven't used it, but my brother's girlfriend has insanely sensitive skin and a milli allergies and swears by both. I bought them for her one Christmas and now she orders them in bulk! I use just about every other thing Lush makes, though, and I'm in love with them all -- so I'd definitely recommend them!

Finally found the Lindt Chilli chocolate! I've been looking for it everywhere since it was mentioned on here but saw it for the first time this evening. It is aMOHzing! Noticed they have a sea salt dark chocolate as well but I haven't found it yet. My hunt will continue this weekend. Thanks for the fabulous recommendation! I probably wouldn't have tried it otherwise.

Thanks, I would appreciate your advice. I've been quoted from dhs13,500 to 17,000 for 13cm from dxb to Freo groupage and the transit timings are really slow, like from 3 to 5 months. I am now trying to find out quotes for LCL shipping so would be grateful if you can advise a company that would give me a good price on that. Di, what's more important: the cost or the transit time? If it's the transit time, then LCL isn't the way to go. The thing is, they're loading your stuff onto a container with several other shipments. Yours may be the only shipment of personal effects. Also, depending on which shipping line they use, that container could be making more than one stop along the way - sometimes, a lot more. So your 3-5 months - that's just an average. If the transit time isn't such a big deal, and you just want to be as cost effective as possible -- the quote that they gave you, is that door-to-door? I'll ask my friend which FF he uses overseas and see what he says.

No problem.....after working 11 years in the shipping and logistics industry -- I can't say that I miss it at all! But who knew - it certainly came in handy when making 2 moves across the globe! I hope you can get it worked out -- if you have any other questions, I might not be able to answer them for sure - but I can definitely try. My friends back home still do, and one of them even has his own business. They say once you start in the industry, you can never go anywhere else! lol

My husband does everything -- he is the most amazing man in the world, for sure!!! I think part of that, though, is that he's the morning person, and I am not -- if it was me, he'd have to listen to a bunch of hissy fits and meltdowns, with occasional tears thrown in (my girl isn't a morning person, either! Just like her mama!). So for him, it's probably the lesser of the 2 evils, lol! ;) edited by amkcbrandon on 27/08/2012

I've read the same -- you only have the (turrible!) side effects if you eat fatty things or exceed what's recommended. I had a friend of a friend (I was practically starving myself before my wedding and I remember her dieting at the same time) who took the same thing and had great results - she said she never had a problem but she stuck to her recommended diet plan as well. Now, my fave is phentermine -- I'm totally depressed you can't get that around here! :-( It's always good if I need to lose that last 5 in order to avoid Spanx before squeezing into my fave mini dress! lol

Where is Tazina cafe please? and more importantly what will it sell? :D It's on the same side as Ming Bowl - outside entrance. They looked like refrigerated deli cases, or maybe for ice cream - but that's just my guess! Have you noticed all the other directory signs going up inside??? I've heard a lot of construction going on behind the walls, too, on my walks to Spinneys the past two days so I can't wait to see what's next! Chelle, you're right about that! I'm all about convenience, especially since I'm finding nothing in Dubai to be that way!!!!! edited by amkcbrandon on 26/08/2012 edited by amkcbrandon on 26/08/2012
