There's a new rock station, I think from Al Ain, sorry i can't remember the exact number on the dial! But I do know one of their motto's is "You won't hear that song again for awhile," it's a lot of classic rock, new rock, heavy rock, alternative rock, all mixed together. If you like that! Just found it, it's 90.7 I think. :) edited by andreasmullet on 23/04/2012

I work at a school here and we have a pool, when one of the young kids have an "accident" in it, we only have to close it for the next 24 hours while it gets a chemical cleaning done... and I know we're following a strict health and safety code approved by municipality. So 10 days, and emptying the pool is not necessarily necessary!

Google banana bread recipes with either yogurt or sour cream in it. I find these to be the best and most moist! Just made a great Martha Steward one I found on google (sorry, don't have it on copy here) but I had googled banana bread sour cream, and the Martha steward one was just a few down. It is soooo good (we always add chocolate chips!).

Holy smokes, saw this today, sent a text at 1:00. They just left with my sofa that's been collecting dust and cats in our backyard like we were some sort of hillbillies. Now it's gone, just like that. Perfect!! :) Will definitely keep this number on hand... when you just can't bother to make 100 uae on dubizzle with all the fuss, these guys are a good alternative!

Ours is on the back porch, it's shaded all day- never even gave it a second thought and after quite a few summers in the same place our house and yard have never blown up! It probably would take pretty severe direct heat for quite awhile, and would have to be full to the max, to be a danger. edited by andreasmullet on 04/04/2012

Nevermind, answered my own question. There's a button at the bottom which was set to UAE. I changed it to Canada, but don't like this new change, I prefer just seeing what's out there, Canada, US, Europe... not just so specific to one country. THere is still a little variety but it mainly sticks to videos in your "area"... anyways... figured it out :)

The registration card is your proof of ownership. Yea, thanks, I figured that would be it! So now it's just the loan certificate we await!!

Something to note if anyone else is interested; you also need a certification of completion that your car loan has been paid off. After thinking we were all sorted and it just seemed too darn easy, waited about an hour for our number at RTA and found out I didn't have this certificate... off to the bank we went! You have to apply for it and it takes 3-5 days. So, in Dubai, if it seems too easy- it probably is!!

If you will go the same way as to regular big RTA building, just follow the road (100m) and you will come to a petrol station with a lot of other small buildings around. There you will be able to do all paperwork which are needed to sell a car. I went there for getting a new car registration card (lost mine) and renew my registration of the car. Oh, i think you're talking about the place that I considered to be the main rta place! That's where I always go :) ok, all sorted! Thank you!!

The RTA Office (big building) next to Gold and Diamond isnt open at Saturday but there is a RTA branch next to the petrol station and it will be open. Next to which petrol station? Do they do all the same paperwork the big branch does? We're completing a sale of a vehicle. Thanks!

Yeah, that's what I found too. Frustrating! Plus, the branch we went to is listed as closing at 230 yet the guy told us it's open until 10pm. So obviously the site is updated regularly!

Once again the website has failed me!! Can anyone tell me if the RTA by Mall of the Emirates is open on Saturdays? I can't find the info anywhere online and phoning is proving pointless :S Thanks!

I did this in December and from what i remember it is pretty easy. Yes you both need to go to RTA to do the sale/hand over. You both need passports, new insurance for car (which can be done at RTA), vehicle test results. You need to bring ownership proof. Salik - now owner will buy a new one and you cancel the exisiting one. HTH What type of documentation did you use for proof of ownership? Would the current insurance papers be enough as they are in my name...

Thanks! Do you know if I can transfer the existing salik and it's credit, and my license plate over to my new car? Or will it get all new everything?

Sort of the same subject but a little different- We were at a restaurant the other night (a golf course restaurant in the community) and it was late, about 900, 930ish. There was one table with the adults, and the other table had all their children, youngest was maybe 6, oldest maybe 12, and about 6 of them. Nice that they got to eat at their own table, and they're old enough to do so- I'm fine with that. BUT, they were finished eating, the parents were drinking away on a few bottles of funny juice, the kids were either playing ipads or on their phones, and two of them were asleep. Uncomfortable asleep I might add, all crocked up with one arm on the table, poor thing. It was CLEARLY time to wrap up the party and take the poor little dudes home. I'm all for adults getting in some adult time, but shouldn't the children be considered at some point? When one dad noticed his son so sound asleep he finally decided it's time to go, about 10:00 now, and boy, was mom none too impressed to be leaving as the next bottle was due to be open. Sounds like our family on holiday!!! he, he - we would get to the restaurant about 7pm, and by 8pm the children would be asleep! Of course we made them comfortable with extra chairs, but no way was I leaving the restaurant without eating or having a good bottle of vino with my husband.....it was hard work carrying them back to the room tho' Well, maybe a holiday is something different, but this wasn't holidaying, this was everydaying.

I cannot for the life of me figure out where she came from or how she got there... so yea, I think mom will appreciate those good samaritans, but then again maybe she won't care considering she had no idea the whereabouts of her kid in the first place. Or else, maybe she ran away.... Who knows. But she was just clinging to the barriers and trying to stay off the road but there is literally no shoulder there. So strange.

Has anybody seen Homeland yet, the new series with the British guy and Claire Danes? Fab show. Cant wait for season 2. Another good show worth watching is Game of Thrones. Very enjoyable. Oh my gosh, we were addicted to Homeland. It is really well done... we were watching at least two a night as it keeps you on your toes! Patiently waiting for season 2 of it and The Killing. Currently watching Sons of Anarchy. Good but the writing isn't perfect, and we're sort of Series snobs- we like our shows well written and delivered. Like 6 Feet Under- it will always be at the top of our list. We also love Once Upon a Time, but maybe we're a bit bias because we're close family friends with the producer! It's filmed in the Vancouver area... love the premise of it and it's something different.

My parents had a message on the fridge when I was a teen that just said: "Move out now, while you still know everything." Got the point across. :)

thanks for all the feedback. And for saving me a trip! 750 is a little steep for our little party, plus it's all females so a lot of the food would go to waste. Will definitely keep them in mind for a party sometime in the future though!

Hi Amelia, Thanks for the info. Do you know if they would do it for less than 40? I'm expecting maybe 25. And how was the cost established? By person? Sorry for all the questions but I just tried calling a little while ago and had trouble understanding most of what he said other than he told me to go to the head branch in umm suquiem to finish the booking. He didn't tell me a price and I would like to know if it's worth me going there or if it's going to cost too much and I'll move on to plan b. Thanks!!
