First of all I would contact schools list is here http://www.gov.im/education/ Then choose area to live nowhere is that fat from Douglas , Onchan is a nice area and very close to Douglas. One question to make sure to ask is the property on TT course as you do not want to be there! Houses and apartments to rent will post estate agents to try in a min http://www.gov.im/isleofman/housing.xml edited by angela on 06/09/2011

Hi I was born and brought up there and have family still there so visit each year. There are only 2 private schools one primary and one secondary and the state schools all work on catchment areas so you really need to plan where u live. There is not a huge amount of entertainment but depends what u are looking for? Lots of nice parks and glens and of course the beaches. I presume u already know it's a top cap of 20% tax so that's a bonus! Shopping can be a little limited but again depends what you need. Any specific questions please don't hesitate to ask

My daughter has just had the imupro 300 test done at medcare via the dermatologist there. Altogether it cost about 4000 dhs which included consultation imupro test and subsequent report and eating plan as well as other medical related blood tests. It flagged up wheat oats etc eggs and all dairy except soya as the main probs and 20 oe so other random things!! Imagine trying to enforce this with a 14 yr old!!

I am in semmer villas and we have a contractor who comes round each sun morning to remove bulky waste from beside your bin. Must be in black garbage bags. In fact they've just been! Not sure if this was something EK organised??

If u know someone in uk with sky package they are allowed one remote sky connection that you can use and watch independently via internet. If your broadband connection is good enough it works well

Depends on whether your laptop has an HDMI port though, if not you need a different type of cable. We bought an apple macmini and have it permanently attached to tv. This makes downloading and watching so much easier. Also the tv now doubles as family computer.

Taken from the DESC website:- EXAMINATION ENTRY FEES • Exam fees are set by the awarding bodies. Entry fees are charged for each unit test or subject entry. These fees vary per subject and generally increase every year. Parents will be notified by letter of the exam fees for the relevant examination series.

Service package on 4dr lwb pajero is worth 10k (that's how much I was quoted by service centre 3 weeks ago) saving approx 5k on full servicing pricing over same km. Worth knowing if you are going to negotiate it to be included

Just thought I'd add to this as just come back from Mirimar in Fujairah. Stayed for 2 nights and had a great time ( usually stay at meridian) room was very nice and food was excellent. Admittedly we didn't have evening buffet but both Asian and Italian restaurant evening meals were superb. Would definitely recommend to just adults or families with older children. Very good for a relaxing break

Are you mad?????????????????? Ha ha it has been said!! What I'm looking for is an a/c I pay so much into a month and she has a card but can't go over the limit - she's 13 so no student ID. Don't know if I fancy the idea of giving her an additional card on our a/c knowing how efficient the banks are here !!

No not as far as I know the community centre at semmer villas is supposedly for Emirates staff only not sure how strictly its enforced for gym and classes though! If you go to www.siliconoasis.org you will see that a lady offers yoga classes - maybe contact her and ask

For the iPhone you need to download a program to disable edge. Think I got this info from google load onto phone and then when you check under setting general profile it should say disabled edge or similar. I just use wifi now
