Most everyone I know from the US flies EK here. For the US market it is sometimes the cheaper option, direct, and none of the US carriers I have flown can touch the comfort and service. ( Delta, United)

I thoroughly enjoyed this series in all its grit and glory. The two leads really suited each other and raised the bar. I heard each season will be 2 more new leads. Was anyone else thinking of the the Texas killing fields from the past 25 years?! Even the location looked like the exact places all those poor girls were found

I was just in town center mall and saw a sign for a puppy looking for a home. He is a lab cross about 3 months old, loves nature, and has all his jabs Contact modern vets 04-3953131 I don't know anything about modern vets but as I first posted please consider this option of rehoming.

Monogamy is overrated in many cases. From personal experience? do share........ Happens all the time! In my neighborhood, wife swapping seems to be the norm! This is the most I have seen anywhere in the world.

Try K9 Friends first and help give a forever home to one of the pups whose owners may have moved or left them behind outside. Even dubizzle has adds of people looking to re home and sometimes there are puppies

Thanks Blondie, we will consider all our options. The thing is in this economy we have to consider the financial benefits and great career move that this position would be... If your decision is primary financial over quality of life than consider the move. You will also save a lot more money there. Just make sure you get into a great compound and school as there are waiting lists and not nearly as many options as Dubai. Would you consider being based in Bahrain ?

I did not say "boarding schools" but other options. Most I knew/know relocated when their children were in that age bracket. Many of the expats I know we're satisfied but the children were not about 2 years on and when they were past 10. OP maybe do a search on here as this topic does come up and see what the feedback is from those with more recent experiences. I liked living there but I also traveled extensively during my time and did not have children. I was there in the late 90's into 2000. I went back in 2003 and to me it was different and I would not chose to live there again. I can only go by now the feedback I get from families who moved there the past 2 years . I wish you luck with your decision

I must have been imagining all the children from all the expat families that I knew :-P Your quit defensive and this comes off as patronizing. The OP asked for feedback and that is what she is receiving.

Yes! You are the beauty guru on here! Just really cannot stand how my hair has been this year. Very curly , kinky and frizzy. I have cut off 7 inches and rarely style with heat and have greatly spaced out my colorings. Was considering a Brazilian blowout or just going for extensions in the back for length. I fear the damage from both though

Thanks Lulu and Louise. I will check them out. I always knew it was going to be a bit pricey, but that's OK as long as they look good and stay in! If anyone knows someone down the Dubai Marina end of town, that would be good too, as closer to me! Can you let me know how you get on as i want some more in but dont want to pay what i used too I have seen some bad ones here! Just did a search and this thread came up. How did it go? I am also looking to get extensions and am concerned about the damage Thank you

I know this thread is old but I am looking into this myself. I have wavy, frizzy hair with brittle mid length To ends. Color treated also. It's getting too kinky. Any ladies on here have any luck with their search ? Thank you Hey Blondie. Don't know what treatment you should do as keratin won't work on curly kinky hair. I can recommend Liza at Beauty Plus Salon in Satwa. I trust her knowledge in such treatments. Tell her what You want and she will suggest You best. Thank you !

Anyone can become a victim of theft or violent crime , no one asks for it. However a good way to possibly avoid being a target is not to flash so blatantly what some will target! All the big labels showing and what gets me is the bags! I see people carrying huge Gucci, Chanel, LV bags is such a visible manner. Put a marks & Spencer's bag over it

Dusha, I'm very sorry your friend is feeling unwell. I suspect she didn't expect the overwhelming response to be that her actions are not excusable and her company's actions are justified. Honestly, the thing to do now is own up to her actions and take responsibility rather than try and get rid of threads that condemn those actions. She made a mistake and needs to accept it. Hiding it by deleting the thread and feeling unwell feels like she's still in denial. We have all made mistakes that make our stomachs turn when we think of them. I know I have! It's how we face them, learn something and move forward that defines us. The way you can best help your friend is by talking through the responses to your original query, not by deleting it and hoping it just disappears. You are not doing her any favours by getting rid of dissenting opinions so she can justify her actions. I hope she works through things and finds a sort of 'peace' with it soon. edited by Catawba KSE on 01/05/2014 I agree with your point but I wonder if she wants it deleted because she is more identifiable now

Wonder if she is really an Aunt,,, so many have "Aunties" here and I have found them to be instigators - pushing for working after hours , etc. This Aunt has no place in regards to how you run your household. Do not get pulled into the drama

I just finished "Valley of Amazement" by Amy Tan ( "The Joy Luck Club") and did not want it to end...not too suspenseful but highly intriguing. Takes place in Shanghai about 100 years ago focusing on courtesan lifestyles. Also read "And The Mountains Echoed " by Khalid Housseni - wow !!!

If you do decide to send her back only give her about an hours notice and watch her as she packs. When at the airport make sure she gets on the flight ( and not to Iran for a quick turn) Why give a bonus ?! She had placed you in a stressful state and illegal activity ! I really would feel better not having her care for my children at this point. I know it's a financial loss but piece of mind is priceless

The aspirin you mix with warm water in a bowl or cup and soak the stained area for a few hours. The vinegar you put directly on the stain and rub ( with a sponge maybe) All this before you wash I hope this helps !

I have 2 children currently attending ASD. One has 16 in her class the other 19. Academically they seem to be slightly ahead in comparison to US schools. I know year 1 on must take entrance exams. I would keep trying because slots do open up and if you have a US passport that gets priority. The campus has a very American feel to it and even though there are many US passports holders it is still very international ( basing on my children's classes). You will not regret joining the ASD community. I myself was struggling with a school switch and in hindsight I should not have even given a second thought. My children are thriving and actually look forward to school. Please let me know if you have anymore questions and I will try to help. There are also very knowledgeable posters on this forum in this regard. One even helped in my decision last year !

Almond oil makes a great cleanser for dry skin- it even removes heavy eye makeup. After rinsing your skin is soft, eyelashes conditioned, unruly brows controlled. Also use honey in the morning. Apply a thin layer, let it sit for a minute or two and rinse. It's firming. All simple, cheap, and found at the grocery

Did you know you can whiten your teeth at home with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide? Works like a charm!!! Just mix a table spoon baking soda with hydrogen peroxide to create a tooth paste like mix. Rub it on your teeth for a while and then rinse. Do not swallow!!! Love this thread! FYI I asked Dr Nora at DLC about this and she said NO WAY. So be warned. It may whiten but the hydrogen peroxide will weaken your enamel quickly and after time aside from cavities your teeth will take on that grayish shade.

I just returned from a chain pharmacy and they said it has been over 3 months since Zoloft was shipped here. I asked when they expect it and the pharmacist said he did not even know if it was coming back as 3 months is long. He suggested asking the Dr for alternatives. Sorry this is happening to you

always used Dragon mart cheap ... I used Dragon Mart as well- very cheap and they look wonderful. Still get compliments. It was simple- just picked out the design and fabric, the man working there came to measure, we drove him back, and by the end of the week it was finished for 3 rooms! However, I went back end of last year and the prices have more than doubled !

This is a longshot but worth a try. Over a month ago there was the same issue with Prozac. It suddenly became out of stock and patients did not have the time to even wease the dosage. The pharmacy in the Spinneys Umm Sequim shopping center was the only place carrying the generic form that the Doctors office was able to locate. I of course realize Zoloft is different but try calling that pharmacy as they just may have Zoloft. If you can also take e advice of Sam7 and head to Sri Lanka or Thailand and get it-BUT- make sure you have an official prescription written by the Dr noting also the generic names Good luck

You can buy a small bottle of lavender which is very calming. Have them take a whiff every hour (and you too lol) it should help keep them relaxed and eventually sleep. you can dilute it in water and put in a little spray bottle, (1 drop to 5ml) and give their pillow a spritz. Worked every time. I still spray my pillow at night and those are the nights I sleep the best ;) Susan I will try the lavender next flight and for myself as well. Thanks

You got this! I fly alone with my 2 toddlers to JFK and LAX. If you can get a flight where it is mostly dark that helps. I usually alter their sleep the day of the flight. In other words I make sure they are up for at least 6 hours before the flight no matter the time. If possible plenty of fresh air. Than I give them a bath before leaving for the airport. Once on the aircraft I change them into pajamas to get them in that mode and as apricot posted I make sure they have a movie on of their choice. I don't bring anything else on board other than their sleep time Teddy's because it is just more to carry and lose. The only thing I do bring is extra shortbread biscuits. I have found EK to be the most comfortable flying experience for long haul alone with the kids. It really is not that bad and they will adjust. Good luck
