I recently moved to Dubai from the US - married, no kids (don't plan on having them while in Dubai), and not working.. What's the best way to meet people here? I tried e-mailing the American Women's Association, but it was returned undeliverable... Welcome to DubI! You will find after time that you will not be bored as there is a a lot to do. AWA no longer exists but is in the process of regrouping. In the meantime besides coffee mornings or EW events you can search for the communities area in which you live on Facebook as there may be groups on there

That Baskin Robbins "Burj Al Emlaaq" - the brownie layered huge sundae one. But I felt far from comfortable afterwards.

WhiteOrchid, that is very 1980's! Very funny. Personnally I have a very good nose for BS and I find, comparing to 1st world countries, its quite easy to tell here - in general that is - or maybe it's because just about everyone does it. White Orchid have you ever worked in Europe or US, out of interest? the post reminded me of the early 90's book "The Rules" even though that was for dating.

You should certainly get testing done to cancel out anything or see what may be the issue. IF it is inconclusive you should add supplements, make sure you are exposed to the sun (without sunblock and hat) for about 20-30 minutes a day, and look into switching hait treatments. For me Selsum Blue (the gentle one for colored treated hair) helped immensely. When the Dr told me this I was skeptical because i thought it was only for dandruff. I noticed a huge difference after time but I feel it ruined my highlights a bit so I only use it about 2 weeks before coloring. I also use bottled water as a final quick rinse. and the typical trying not to wash hair often or use electrical appliances. The Dr had me use Regain (for men as it is stronger) as well. I do have regrowth since last year but it is growing in more kinky

are you losing your hair from the root or is it breaking? if it is the root and its a vast amount I suggest getting bloodwork done. Bloodwork can determine if it is hormonal or a deficiency. I had the same issues last year and discovered I had a severe iron defieciency. I started taking supplements as well as omega 3/6. biotin, silicia. For me the filters did not show any improvement.

I was reading some reviews on a forum about Radiesse and many felt it did not last as long. Someone was telling me about some type of outpatient procedure now ( in the USA) where they use your own fat for the fillers and it looks fantastic ( not that puffy look). I just emailed her for the proper name but maybe some of you here have some feedback ? OP - I would be very wary of the low cost "deals" in regards to this here. A lot can go wrong and especially around the eye area the consequences of using someone unskilled can be devastating. Dr. Jaffer Khan is excellent as well as Dr.Hoshney - though he only comes here every few months

I lived in Jeddah for 3 years. Giggles57- I got used to the abaya as did most of the ladies I knew. Saudis were very friendly and interested in getting to know expats. You can go out to dinner with your husband and there were fantastic restaurants. When I lived there you could not have family members fly in to visit you and you needed to apply for a visa even to travel within the country ( road trips included! )

there is a brand called "dermablend" which is for bruises and scars that covers them up well but not fully. Make sure the area is well moisturized before application. However this wont get rid of them. Fillers usally do

Any recommendations on where to take children today after school? I have tried Irish Village and McGettigan's to see if there was anything between 4-7. Both said no. I was looking for somewhere that may have the dancers and is child friendly. McGettigans said they used to have this but not anymore. I have tried google and both these places came up but when I called it would not be child friendly. Was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere else to try. thank you

One of the mothers at my child's school was having similar worries. She came to find out that after being let down by dating the maid became part of a prostitution ring here where they were picked up in the am and driven around from John to John with other maids as well. Obviously not what she wants near her family so she sent her back. I had a similar issue years back ( but not these selfies ). I also let her go back. Aside from other issues I was told that as the household is the sponsor we could be in trouble.

I " think" they can only tell its reported stolen when it is swiped at landing. At check in they just type in the numbers for the records which don't come up flagged instantly

I worked for a carrier within this region and yes, you could be fired/ written up for so many "offences" including "slouching" at the airport while in uniform. You could be abruptly fired without reason just like a US carrier I flew for before it was unionized. It also had a curfew. However, sometimes it was strongly enforced and other times not at all. I can easily see how this article is true. My only issue with this article is that no one "forced" anyone to sign the contracts.

I also was sufferinf from hair loss and a terribly receding hairline. Since last May I have been "on a program" of various habits and my hair is growing back and thick-however- its growing back very kinky/wavy and a different texture. Also a wad of grey (yikes!). I use argon , coconut oils, Regain (Men's strength) and supplements. Anyone else find thier hair is growing back differently?

with all these celeb overdose deaths one wonders how sad there life must be despite all the money & fame... i am not being judgemental, just wondering.. because u dont necessarily take drugs because u have too much money or for the want of something new to try, or just for the recklessness of it all.. there must be something deeper than that... I imagine they are no different to the rest of us. ( Except money and fame) Most take drugs because they want to disconnect from the reality of their lives It's a very dark and lonely place to be regardless of how much money you have

I was looking for this thread. The clipless does last longer for me but the ends of my hair also fl strangely. Over the holidays I tested it out veres my large curling iron with the clip. I used the one with a clip the first night and the clipless the second night and went out where I would see the same people. Just about everyone preferred the first night (with clip) -myslef included. It looks more natural and your hair as a whole just falls into place better. I have thick hair mid chest length.

My 4 year old goes to Kids First. It was recommended to me by her speech therapist. Frankly this is my only experience with O/T so I cannot compare it to any other places but for what it is worth I am happy there. The staff is very warm and my child actually enjoys her sessions. I have also noticed improvement. Speaking with the other parents in the waiting room they all seem satisfied there as well with all the therapists and some have switched over from elsewhere.
