Hi I'm new to the sight but wanted to give you the little advice I can offer having owned sphynx cats all my life. They are quite a needy breed, they enjoy human company. I once had a sphynx that never got along with other cats and only got worse the older she got. She was like a little guard dog. I'm sure you have done some of your own research. They need to be bathed regularity and their skin looked after. They may not leave hair around the house but if they aren't cleaned properly they will leave brown oily stains on furniture and anywhere else they lay. Having pretty big ears means that they also have to have them cleaned frequently. They are suited to the warm climate but possibly not the air conditioned villas and apartments we have here in Dubai. It might sound silly but havig a little jumper would possibly make her more friendly, as they really do suffer from the cold. They are house cats and shouldn't be let outside, they are prone to skin cancer due to the lack of fur and even when kept inside should have sun cream applied as the suns harmful rays can cause damage even through windows. My sphynx was too old to travel when I moved to Dubai and I have hunted high and low for a breeder since arriving. As this was a royal gift ? I'm sure you will be keeping hold of her, however if you need any care advice. Or if your existing cat never comes around to the idea of a companion please feel free to get in touch. I would be more than happy to help. Thank you soo much for the tips , and yes i did my own search. the one we have is quite and our old cat is the one who kept attacking the Sphynx. Things are getting better i kept them today both together and they didn't fight , they just kept their distance ,however if i do need any further advise will contact you

We must be such bad cat owners..... Over the years of having numerous rescue cats, they have always just been dropped in at the deep end and allowed to get on with it. Yes there has been some hissing and spitting, but it has been more for show than anything else. We have just fostered a kitten this last week and she is now ruling the roost with our other two cats, and the two dogs, all having to accept a minature "Speedy Gonzales" taking over :) Geordie , i did the same thing when we first got the new arrival , however it went far more than just hissing and spitting. I think some cats get along with each other faster than others

Hi Ladies , DS recently got a very very uncommon gift from one of his friends  ( one of the royal family ) , they gave him a Sphynx cat ! I assume he gave them an impression that its OK for him to have another pet in home !! We currently have one cat which we have adopted few months ago and they are both not getting along at all , our kitten is all jealous of the new cat and very terrified and her behavior changed. on the other hand the new cat didn't settle down yet :cry: and is aggressive when she gets nervous. i have a no pet from pet store rule ! and am a bit worried from where did they get him this cat , but as what he told me that they do have lots of them in home  and DS is getting attached to the new cat and am not sure what to do  i would really appreciate if any one has a suggestion on what to do ?? any recommendation to at least make both cats get along each other my home is a cat war zone at the moment

i assume you should hear back from them soon. However it sometimes take very long time to respond back to applicants. Ramdan is around the corner and things go idle around UAE during that period. I think you might hear back from them after ramdan

Deira and Oud Metha are both good locations with great schools and amenities very close by. There are some lovely apartments in both areas and you are close to parks, malls, the beach, as well as a lot more of the cultural side of Dubai. Please don't fall into the trap of thinking that everything must be on the "New Dubai" side to be in the acceptable bracket. :) yes true , I live in Deira and can never think of living in Jumirah or new dubai ! i love it here actually i tried living in jumirah and new dubai for around 3 weeks and it didnt work for my family  oceanview i think most probably you will be given abraj al mamzar , i heard its the new buildings emirates have leased as staff accommodation.

There is a store in Jumeirah Plaza (the pink mall) on the Beach Rd which sells pre-loved designer clothing so I'm guessing they buy too. Can't remember the name but it's beside the Barber shop across from the Dome restaurant. yes this is the same shop the OP is referring to , its called the closet
