Hi Sweetestpear. I've just seen this thread on Barwa City and wanted to know what it's like living there? We've recently moved to Doha and the only place that fits within our housing allowance and has any availability is Barwa. I'm being told that I don't want to live there but I can't seem to find anywhere else half decent in the price range of Barwa. Are you happy out there? Any issues? Your insight would be great!

Does anyone know where I can get my mattress and duvet dry cleaned from in marina or near marina? I've never had my mattress done but in the past my duvets and pillows have never come back right. I've seen some posts for cleaners in midriff and Arabian ranches but nothing this side of town. Please help.

I don't know much about the pharma market but I've found a job really quickly. I suppose it depends on the profession. With regards to the visa, I'm on my husbands visa and I just got him to write a 2 line letter saying he gave me permission to work. I had heard some horrible stories about employers not cancelling visas etc so I decided it's easier to get it on my own and therefore I'm not tied to any one particular company if I decided to leave - as I wasn't sure whether I'd like the company etc.

@ Snugs - do you play at the sevens ground? I'm trying to get a netball team together from work but my only problem is that most of them haven't played before. However, I give them full marks for enthusiasm because they're willing to learn. Do you know anywhere I can get someone to help coach us? Do you know if there is a social league played at all?

I'm living in Sulafa and have been since September. We like it. It's getting busier now. We looked at Ocena Heights before we opted for Sulafa but given th views we get from our place compared to Ocean Heights and the prices we thought that Sulafa was a fair price. The advantage I find it that the whole building is pretty much owned by one guy so any problems get dealt with swiftly as opposed to having individual owners. The pool is good and so is the gym although again because it's getting busier the machines are being used more and then there are some inconsiderate people using the treadmills to walk for over an hour!! I have to agree though with another member that it is a complete shambles outside but I also understand most of it is outside their control as there is so much building work.

Does anyone know of a good tailor in Dubai where I can have some trousers stitched. I'm not after anything expensive - just some good trousers I can wear to work. I have a problem with the ones bought in the shops where either they fit around the waist but the thighs are too tight or if they fit around the hips the stomach is too big.

I'm new to Dubai and desperately need a really good facial - one that will scrub my skin clean and also 'extract' all the blackheads and clogged pores. I'm not after a softly, softly facial - I really want someone to sort my skin out. Any ideas? I don't want to be paying extortionate prices either. Has anyone used Murjan? Are they any good?

Thanks Appletiser. Can you tell me what the other good schools are. I don't think it matters about area because they'll probably get a house when they choose a school.

I have recently moved to Dubai and I have a friend who is also moving but apparently she says that she can't get her kids into DESS or JESS for September 2012. Is this true? Is there anyway that it can be done? I don't believe that the husbands company has a debenture at either of these schools. Unfortunately, I don't have any children so I can't help her and I don't know anyone in Dubai either -but logically thinking you should be able to get into these schools because loads of people move mid school year. Any suggestions?
