Hi ladies I did a search on here and couldn't find any threads on this so I thought I'd ask the question here. Does anyone know where I can find a decent first aid kit or where I can buy all the things needed to create my own first aid kit? Also, what are the essentials for a first aid kit (bearing in mind that I have a LO on the way in 2-3 weeks time) Thanks in advance

Hi, We have a huge crack in our window that was there when we moved in but we never got around to telling the landlord so now he's making us pay for it. He is quite dodgy when it comes to money so I want to get a quote myself so he doesn't overcharge us. Does anyone know who to call? I tried googling it but not finding anything.

I realise I am a bit late but wondering if you still have some packing boxes to give away? If not, do you know where I can find/buy some or does anyone else have some to spare? Back home, my father-in-law usually handles things like this and I have no clue what to do here in Dubai *sigh*

Thanks for the replies ladies... dubaisusan, can I ask if you used the AC all day? I'll be getting a maid soon so she will probably be running the AC all day and I'd like to get some idea of what the bill would be. bluecamel, ive looked in the greens - but cant find an apartment under AED80k. Gege_DXB i will try to look into JLT again and find out how the charges really work. Im afraid im running out of time as I need to move by the 1st Nov :( Does anyone know which buildings in Tecom to stay away from?

Hi everyone... Need some help regarding apartment hunting. Been looking in the Tecom/Al Barsha/JLT area but everything we've looked at seems so terrible, too small or totally out of our budget! Ideally I would like to stay in these areas as its close to work. Our budget would be max AED75k We are looking for a 2BR apartment, but lots of them don't have AC free and I have no idea of how this works. So some insight would be great here Also, if anyone can let me know what buildings are good and which ones to stay away from in these areas, that would be appreciated.

This thread has been a bit quiet lately! Things are crazy my side...still covering 2 jobs at work until the handover to the new guy is complete so thats taken a lot of my time. We have to move to a 2BR place, currently live in the Marina so we are looking for apartments which is an awful task given our current budget cos it seems the Marina is out of the question (or at least the nicer buildings) so been looking in other areas that we arent familiar with! Pregnancy is going well, although I cant sleep very well anymore due to my size and leg cramps :( I am in desperate need for a full body massage. Have you ladies started on baby shopping yet? I have no idea what clothes a new born would need so I havent bought anything! :\: Sorry for the long post, but it feels good to get all that out!

Does anyone have any more experiences relating to the iftar at Atlantis? Friends want to go there for iftar but if the food is really sub standard I wouldnt want to pay that much - i'd rather go elsewhere. Any idea on how much the iftar buffet is?

so can someone tell me precisely how Dubai and Abu Dhabi are SUPPOSED to be pronounced, just out of interest? Im not an arabic speaker but I know the alphabet and can read arabic (even though I dont know what it means) - we were taught the phonetic rules and If you read Dubai in Arabic it is actually pronounced Du-Bay. Explaining how to say Abu Dhabi correctly could take a while though but essentially the Dh in Dhabi is said with the tongue against the top of pallet just behind your teeth (if that makes any sense) ;)

Hello ladies! Hope everyone is better today. According to my calculations im due on the 2nd Jan but i thought i'd say hi here cause it might very well be that i give birth in December....this is my first one so I am totally clueless! Lucky for me i havent had bad MS...just a strange taste in my mouth all day that gets really bad in the evenings which leads to some nausea. Went for my first scan at 7 and a half weeks...couldnt wait to see if everything is ok! Heard the heartbeat and everything looks great! Next scan will probably be around the 25th June - not sure what OB im going to yet though. Cant wait for week 12 cause I want to tell everyone already! PS, anyone have any advice on how to break the news to your manager? I've only been at the company for 10 months now and its the first time my manager has a female reporting to him so I have no idea what to say and when!

Choosing a doctor here in Dubai when you dont really know anyone or anything about the doctors isnt very easy so any help would be appreciated. Oh, im currently 9 weeks!

Not sure if its inside or outside but if its Yas Arena its normally outside. Radisson Blu is having an offer: AED950 bed and breakfast (excl's 10% service charge & 6% tourism levy) incl dinner for 2 and 2 reserved tickets.
