You should find out if your bank accounts were frozen when you left, its likely and if they were joint accounts do you know what your legal liabilty is re the debt? If you come over and pay the outstanding are you sure they will not insist your husband comes over to clear the matter before they would put it straight. You could find yourself in a tangle of red tape, I would not come over before contacting a law firm here in Dubai who could guide you on this, you don't want to take risks to your personal liberty, as you know laws here are very different when it comes to debt.

Depends on their age, interests, and how much you want to spend. You can put those details in this online application and it gives you lots of ideas http://giftgen.co.uk/index-java.php hope that helps!

They can run tests to determine some of what what you may have had. Your immune status can be checked for Hepatitis A & B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Chicken Pox and Tuberculosis. Not sure about Yellow Fever, Whooping Cough, Polio or Diphtheria. Better ask your doctor.

Sounds like you are or have become ambidextrous which is rare trait often seen in those considered genius. For eg. Einstein was ambidexrous and when his brain was examined it was found to have more connective tissue between the right and left lobes than average. So good news for you!

Di, I would take the shots if I were her. My SIL had the same problem and was not given the correct treatment with her first pregnancy. Although the risk of blood mixing is small in a first pregnancy, the hassles she has had since then with recurrent miscarriages and heartache - it's just not worth it if there is a way to prevent it. Babies born to mothers whose immune response has been triggered, can be very ill. There is no way to reverse this state once it has been triggered; she will have the antibodies against any Rh positive babies she carries for life. Thanks - I will advise them to have the shots, it definately makes sense to prevent the possiblility of any complications than to run a risk.

Many thanks salsB & moonbeam for all the detailed info, baby's blood type is unknown, its 28 weeks gestation, but based on what you say they could safely opt for the shots now. I can pass on some reassuring news now! :)

Mum to be is Rh negative and husband Rh postive. They have been told by one doctor to have an injection of Rho immune globulin now even though tests show no anti bodies in mother's blood. Another doctor says to wait until the baby is born since this is the first pregnancy. What is the best course of action, anyone been though this? Is there any risk to the baby or mother in having the injection before delivery. TIA

Went to pick it up Thurday and found the fault not fixed. You mean they said it was fixed but when you tried the seat it didn't work, or when you turned up they said "Sorry, we haven't been able to fix it yet"? edited by edna.welthorpe on 23/04/2011 We discovered the seat had not been fixed. No one told us anything. We had picked up the keys and were about to drive off. We went back into the office and then they said they had not got the right part. I just wonder why they did not tell us anything when we collected it.

I would never expect logic, but based on what you say, if you have seen B's in C then it would seem likely that there could well be C's in B too. These sorts of things are quite prevalent here, like why the floor numbers in the car park don't match the elevator floor level numbers in the mall. :)

I have just run out of the suncream I have been using for years for my kids, its from Australia and I can't find the same brand here. So I bought Nivea for Kids 50spf. I used it on my DD all day yesterday and she has come out in a huge rash all over for face and arms where it was applied and is swollen on her face. I am going to take her to the Dr and I am sure they will suggest antihistamines. Can anyone please recommend a gentle kids suncream 50 spf that I could try. TIA I really empathise with you, I had the same problem with all the commerical brands available here and gave up trying to find any sunscreen that did not cause a rash, so I make my own. Just out of interest which brand was it you used in Oz? Maybe you could have someone over there send you some of it.

I was answering to a poster asking for a garage in SHJ this is totally different than a new poster advertising a business.IMHO In both cases you and the OP were recommending services and providing contact details for such. If this is not permitted on the forum at all it would hardly matter if someone had asked for the info or if the info had been volunteered, and perhaps you might have the charity to consider that the OP was putting it out in the same spirit that you posted. Considering that the OP has not posted any ads before I would not jump to find them guilty so quickly.

One is a bengali guy who is great if you know what's wrong with your car tel 0558031426 The other one did a very good repair job on a French car ( agent very expensive ) He is Algerian national but speaks some English. He just drove the car and gave me a list of what needed doing. He kept calling me to inform me of the progress. The day after I collected the car he called me to make sure everything was fine. Maybe you called at a time they do not answer, they only accept phone enquires at the following times: (971) 4 311-6000 (visa calls are answered weekdays 3-4 p.m) I have got through in the past and spoken to the visa section successfuly. Its true the appointments are usually booked up at least one month ahead but two years is strange, I would call them at the right time and ask.

There were so many candlelit events around town over Earth Day on Saturday, I wonder if this really defeats the object, how did all those people get to the events, unless they walked there Co2 emissions would be increased from all the vehicles on the road. And for those who stayed home and lit a candle they may have done better to just keep one eco friendly bulb on instead. Most candles are made of paraffin, a heavy hydrocarbon derived from crude oil. Burning a paraffin candle for one hour will release about 10 grams of carbon dioxide while an eco friendly bulb will emit only 5 grams per hour resulting in double the C02! Earth Hour is purely symbolic and achieves nothing if its celebrated in this way.

Completely agree, sadly kids are deprived of their childhood IMO these days. I am glad I grew up in an age when we were allowed to enjoy the innocence of childhood. Its the forces of pedophalia that have taken over the retail industry and its up to parents to resist and protest. I actually saw outfits for sale here for age 2 to 3 years that were exactly replicas of a belly dancers outfit with the tassles on the breasts.

I've bought some fish and meat from Spinneys Al Wasl Rd that was off but generally I find things are not too bad here. Basically anything canned lasts for years as long as the can remains undented/unopened. There are expiry dates on cans but that's to comply with regulations and there is a large safety margin with expiry dates. A lot of the canned items I buy have the dates stamped on the top of the tin so could not be relabeled. I've seen items on sale in Choithrams that are approaching the expiry date but they are usually all together, with a clear sign and sold at a reduced price. Authoritieshere do take food safety seriously. There was a huge court case a couple of years back where executives from a company were on trial for attempted relabeling of powdered milk. I think if you shop at a large busy shop, like C4 you are better off as there is a more rapid turnaround of stock. Also I buy local dairy products as imported items are so expensive and may not have been properly refrigerated for the whole long journey. That's where I bought the mince meat that was off too. I have not had problems with canned food but I don't buy much of it, all the stuff I am finding spoilt is locally produced or prepared.

NYCdoll - thanks for the expose! - the complacency and lack of regulation is eye opening. I guess the more we all complain to the offending sellers the better chances we have of food safety.

The quality of food here really is a disgrace. I have to tell you something, and it is frightening, but many shops, and restaurants as well, small ones especially, turn of their fridges at night as a way to save electricity. They figure as long as the firdge stays closed its ok..ugh...they do this even in the summer-and sadly a lot of times that when we see a spike in food poisoning cases. And don't get me started on changing sell by dates...One of my relatives owns a shipping company that often ships foods to the ME. Food that is often labled unfit for human consumption-but by US law it can be bought and sold to be used in pet food only. But thats not what happens. It gets shipped here-with expired dates-by a lot of local food dealers and redated. There are certain foods here that I avoid. This is horrendous to even think about if they are changing sell by dates on the babyfood too!

How about nice Feather pillows? Mine are 6 or so years old and they have lost their volume. In Oz there is a place that can clean/re-stuff your feather/down pillows so they are like new... but I guess in Dubai I will just have to bite the bullet and get new ones... but none of the ones I have seen in the stores here compare to my old ones... even in the poor condition they are in now! Any suggestions? You could pop them in the dryer for about 20 mins that should re-fluff them nicely.

Jewelsmiddle - I would have taken them all back if they had all come from the same shop, but it would mean a whole lot of running around to return all of this weeks items! Actually I am very careful about keeping fridge items cool, I use a cool bag at the check out for the fridge items and I put them into the fridge or freezer asa I get home, my fridge freezer is plenty cold enough. Thanks for the advice. I will take it up with all the stores concerned next time I am there for sure.
