zatar and zweit? many outlets. Don't think that Z&Z is "healthy"! that is why i asked what she means... it is not fried and not fatty... also mOre cafe can be an option, for english type breakfasts... or any hotel for buffet... really it depends on what is close by!

oh my. in the afternoon i felt bad about not having a ticket but now i am glad we couldn't go. seriously, the other thread has lots of wisdom: how come we could go to jail for kissing, driving after a beer, etc but then they bring paris hilton, amy winehouse and alike and celebrate them?

debit cards also accepted no need to be a "manager", just have to have a dubai residence visa with min 6 months validity That is not true. U need to have "manager" status and above. If you are female, they wont let u travel alone if you are on husband's visa that says "Housewife". U need to have your husband with you in tow and his visa should say manager and above. lol, so one can only be either housewife or manager? my visa says none, it states my profession. and i am travelling to doha quite often, in fact i was there this monday. not sure about housewife visas, but probably they need an NOC from husband allowing them to travel. maybe you should ask on the Qatar Forum.

you are right, if he pays for the full time not only for the time you fly then it is rude to ask. so, maybe try real estate as you said, not a bad idea. or some internet based sales?

hi. cover letter not necessary, they wont read it, may not even reach the decision makers. put everything in the cv what you wanna say. format that works in the uk will work here, but add (at the beginning or the very end): nationality(as per passport), visa status, marital status/number and age of kids if they live here, age. also add a picture at the top corner of first page, select a good passport style picture, no holiday pics , lol. good luck

firstly, when washing machine moves and vibrates that may not be good for the freezer. secondly, washer produces heat, which may reduce the efficiency of the freezer. thridly , she does need to be tall, lol... but anyways, i think she needs a carpenter, and get kind of a shelf with extra legs, and create an independent space for the freezer above the washer, rather than stocking them on top directly. like a high table, and put one of the machines on top. i see no problem with that. edited by dentro on 11/02/2011

haha, this forum is full of moms, that's why you do not get responses. my company allows 5% of the annual department revenue allocated to the department would not allocate individually as some staff benefits from training more than others, hence i would leave it to the department leader whom he sends to expensive training and who goes nowhere. then i would make sure staff expresses their aspirations via personal development forms/ interviews, and that is followed up by the manager+hr. edited by dentro on 11/02/2011

It is a choice of Etisalat or Du here, that is all! At some areas you do not even have the choice, you must go with one of them only. If you do have a choice, Etisalat is way better in reception, connecting you faster and have better customer service. Du customer care is a JOKE!!!

go ahead, do on your own. agents cost extra money for no reason. you need to get the title deed moved from the LL's name to your name. make sure you are fully aware of all common expenses and community maintenance charges.

Also (this is my own question) for my friend and all of you. [b'>WHY WHY WHY are they still responding to emails if the work day is over[/b'>? Is Dubai a place where working hours aren't always respected (will my DH be a slave to his blackberry?) Because it is expected of everybody.... and NO! working hours are rarely respected. In most companies you are expected to work way more hours than you are contracted to. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but yes, your husband will be a slave to his blackberry no matter how many good intentions he has! :( ehmm... just received a work email 5 minutes ago... and to make it worse.... i have responded it....

Yes, sounds dodgy. Mind you when I came here my first company made me buy my ticket and be on emirates visa and I had been naive enough to do so, but guess what, they had turned out to be super dodgy and my ex boss proved to be extremely far from being trustworthy!

So? Ask the movers company, ask neighbors, etc. It may still be laying somewhere in the corner of the staircase or something. I do not think anyone robbed you, probably it is just simply lost. edited by dentro on 31/01/2011

Not normal practice. The company should purchase his ticket. Additionally it is illegal to work on the emirates visa. The company could also arrange a visit visa, takes a day! But again, no working allowed on that, that is for short business visit (meetings).

HR always messes up everything. Show me a company without HR, I wanna join them. She should call her future boss here and ask him about what is going on. Depending on the reaction she gets she should make a decision: If he steps in and sorts it out fine, if not or hesitant, go for London. Good luck. Okay, so she's sat here (looking over my shoulder!) and she followed earlier advice and emailed future boss ccing HR guy. She explained the salary differences+time limits+no further communication and received a prompt email and text message back saying that they were unable to get approval for the slightly higher salary but that since she is entitled to 50 days of holiday, she can cash in 10 and achieve the higher salary (or however many she wants). HR guy has also asked to speak tomorrow at 8am. I feel like it might take too much time for her to get all required documents in a timely manner. How possible is it for the company to rescind her offer just because? (or am I just being overly paranoid--it's just if I was being treated this way, it's how I would feel). Sorry, I did not read back. Honestly, things work differently here. Especially with local companies. It is not that outrageous or surprising as it seems. And true, by law everyone has 30 calendar days of holiday, so 50 is something extra. Also for each public holiday they have two announcements: 1 or 2 days off for private companies and usually 3-5 days off for government. That is also extra... Get everything in writing, for sure. Otherwise it is a good adventure and if the numbers meet and she feels like trying it, she should, at least I would. There is always an option to move back to the UK any time. Edit: Ok, I see now that she had been here before. So she knows the place. edited by dentro on 31/01/2011

i do not think they would let her buy a ticket out of visa validity date. but why do not you arrange her a longer visa? I just book tickets for the dates I want and then do visa runs.....never been questioned....even with a one way ticket they asked my daughter (who lives in Australia) why she was on a one way ticket if she didn't have residency and she said she was coming here to study and was applying for her study visa..... ok, great. i remember they made me buy a return ticket when i came, but that was many years ago, things are constantly changing.

It is banned and the health ministry people went around and collected back the remaining stocks from all pharmacies months ago. You will not find it. If you need it, travel to India, buy Sibutramine there, same stuff. I am in the same shoes, it really helped me and worked really well with my body, it is a shame that it has been withdrawn. Good luck. edited by dentro on 24/01/2011

I do not have any full time maid but i frequently wonder when i see families with maids in shopping malls, restaurants, airports, etc that it is at least as difficult with them as without them... so i am of the opinion that whoever goes to the path of hiring multiple ones must really need them otherwise not worth it...
