As I was so fed up of being chased up and down the malls, being as attractive as I am, I decided to pop out a couple of children whilst also putting on some weight. Lo and behold, problem solved. Now if someone does a double take I always check if zippers are zipped up, buttons done or that no child accidentally fell off the twin stroller unnoticed by me. Do I miss my curvy size 6 figure? You bet. Bring on the whistles, lads, I wont be ranting on EW. Fantastic ! Love it :)

Does anyone else feel that the lifeguards just sit and stare at you as you swim in the pools? A few of my friends say the same thing, they go for a nice quiet morning swim and what do you get.........a staring life guard!!! I understand that they need to do their jobs BUT if they can see that a lady or man can swim can't they just read or fiddle or do something. I went swimmming this morning and the guys eyes were glued to me!!! horrible! same with my neighbor when she went yesterday and her 17 year old daughter. Does anyone know the name of the lifeguard company so we can have a word with the boss and he or she can educate them NOT to stare! what do you think ladies? Re read your post! ' lifeguards just sit and stare' ???? They are doing their job!!! Sitting in over 40 degrees heat For hours, keeping us and our children safe. Think about it, how would you feel arriving at the pool ,seeing the lifeguard with his nose in a book ? speechless.

Hi, Our two teenagers go to Dr Joy clinic in mirdiff, they both see Dr Nazeer, he is professional, always on time , after 10 months ,they both have beautiful straight teeth. I don't know where you are ,but I think Dr Joy also has a clinic in jumeirah .

Hi, we stayed overnight in Lyon in December and stayed in a lovely hotel called ' Hotel Les Artists' in the middle of Lyon centre, walking distance to the ' Restaurant street' , I can't remember how much we paid, we are a family of 4 and had connecting rooms, breakfast was included but nothing to get excited about, the rooms were clean,hotel very central, underground secure parking. We will go back . Hope this helps.

We sometimes increase the pace a bit until almost running , just to see if they can keep up ! The stop suddenly...... see if they can brake in time :) Is that evil? I think it is evil, but I like it !

I took my mum when she came to visit and she loved it. We made it a really special day, my husband took the day off work to stay with our children, me and my mum had our nails done in the morning , dressed up in our poshest dresses and heels and had beautiful car take us there. I get to see my mum once every 2 years and we always try to have a least one full girley day together, but this was the ultimate treat. It's expensive, just for an afternoon tea ,it's not something I would do again, but worth it as something special.

Swatting away shop assistants who seem to think no one can buy lipstick without help. Baris Gallery is the worst for this - it almost like an attack of the clones as soon as you walk through the doors ... they literally stalk you as you walk around, and even if you say "i am just looking" they still are 2 mm behind you. There are a number of shops my daughter refuses to enter because of this!

Thank you for your reply steth, I have never done yoga and know nothing about it , I have done a search but there is so many types of yoga I have no idea which one we should go for , something for beginners, nice and slow. My daughter is starting to worry a bit as she is the only one in her swimming lesson that can't do the splits and I want to help her as much as I can before she gives up :(

You are doing fantastic, don't give up, like Horizon mum says , just a few more weeks to go! Then we can all smash the alarm clocks :) Your life will change in September . When we moved here, our youngest went to school in Sharjah (no places in Dubai) it was a nightmare and on top of that he hated it and wanted to go home ,the worst 6 months of my life :( Then September came, and both went to the same school life changed for everyone. Try to give yourself a treat at the weekend when hubby is home to look after the kids, a manicure , a massage , anything, but its YOUR treat at the end of another 'Moms Taxi' week!! Keep it up , almost there :)

Thank you so much Lolacat. I have just checked her passport, but it's not easy to understand exactly what she is covered for, but like I say,born at our house, travelled from France to Switzerland ( with 1 week in kennels) and then to Dubai, things were pretty strict! But ,I am not an expert and there is always something new to be careful of, thank you again for confirming.

Evening ladies, Last week I had a lady knock on our door and ask we if I needed 'pet sitting ' services ( she saw the dog and cat travel boxes in the garage!!!! ) ( must remember to lock now with security issues in AR ) anyway we don't , as they are both already booked to stay in a very nice place this summer:) She will ' visit ' walk, feed , clean litters etc or sleep overnight. She has a book of references from previous and existing ' clients' . I don't know if this is allowed ( legal ) or not ,but if you want her number I can pass it on by email:)

Evening ladies, I have just watched the YouTube link, thank you. Is there a ' special' vaccination we need to give, or as long as our dogs have been vaccinated since birth, they are covered? Just wondering ,if no answer ,I will contact the vet tomorrow. Our dog was born at our house and vaccinated for everything since birth, and always kept up to date, is there something more I should do ? Is it still ' safe ' to walk her? I have never heard of this disease before, it sounds horrendous!!!

We arrived in December and were looking for somewhere for our 13 year old daughter who not only loves riding but likes to be around the horses, mucking out, tacking up, etc not just turn up, get on and get off at the end. We found a place called Elite which is in Nad al Sheba. She goes every Saturday and does stable management and has a lesson from 7.30am to 11am. Let me know if you need any more details. Thank you, this is more like what she is looking for, last pony club back home was get on ,ride for 1 hour ,and hand the pony to the next child ! Not good. Will it be closing soon for the summer?

Nope, I have left phone messages for them to get in touch, with a time I know would work for us both, weekend and weekdays, text messages saying what time I will be in the house, Skype , I have tried everything, I have even contacted other family members to make sure they are ok, and if any one else has heard from them, and yes, they are fine and really looking forward to their holidays in Dubai! They have always spent their holidays with us, no matter where we have lived in the world and we have always had more contact before their trip. Maybe they are super busy this time buying bikinis !

to be brutally honest, if i have guests staying with me then i expect to go and pick them up from the airport, no matter what time they arrive. Yes, us too, but some sort of contact from your guests side is also expected and appreciated. No??

ok. But if they decide to contact me on Thursday for an airport pick up on Friday, I will go ballistic! We have friends coming after 'my family' ,and they ring me a few times a week checking things , making sure its not a problem for them to stay with us, offering to have a couple of nights in a hotel to give us a break, asking what they can bring for the kids etc and 'my family'.................
