Hi guys , my 7 week old DS has been prescribed Zantac and motilium for his issue with silent reflux , he is already on novolac anti reflux. Any positive stories about these two meds working for your LO

Hey zaynab I had exact same issue , HCG wasn't great and doc said would schedule me for D&C but two weeks later had a healthy jumping foetus , there is still hope don worry and keep us posted on your results for today

Well I have consulted a paed but not so happy with her as she wasn't very helpful jus said that I should try gripe water or a medicine called Bonissan. Didn't find this too helpful but if some other mums of GERD babies have some tried and tested remedy that would be more useful I guess

The problem is that whenever I latch baby on to breast he quickly sleeps of and then 45minutes later Gets up hungry again and this goes on . I tried so hard to breast feed only and keep top up at minimum that I aggravated hs jaundice which he had since birth as docs said he wasn't feeding enough. This scared me and so I switched to top up plus breast feeding but as I mentioned the issue is he dozes off at breast and doesn't get enough and wakes up crying again in 45 mins.

paracetamol? That's all I use on myself, let alone the kids! (got a stinking cold at the moment and paracetamiol's working on it, along with some Vicks vaporub) Besides, Zyrtec's an anti-histamine, isn't it? edited by Hello.Again.Kitty on 01/10/2011 Yes true HAK it's true zyrtec is an antihistamine but with my daughter u never can say whether it's viral or allergy related as she is very allergy prone that's why always confused on what treatment to start on her, as for paracetamol , isn't that only for fever ? I want something to work on opening her blocked and stuffy nose

WOW CK1 am reallyy jealous as i am willing to take unpaid leave only if they allow me ...maybe i shld resign and join ur company after delivery :) Another issue is the fact that some companys give 45 working days which comes up to 2 and half months whereas some give 45 calendar days which is only 1 and half month <em>edited by Enigma1979 on 07/09/2011</em>

Hey CC I have actually tried that but unfortunately company allows ONLY 15 CALENDAR days leave as unpaid leave and that too they may ask for justifications . The actual problem is that i dont want to spend my 9th month in office infact am trying to take off ASAP and thats why all these questions about leave 45 calendar days is less and on top of that if i even am allowed to take 15 calendar days unpaid leave , jointly it comes up to only 2 months pre and post delivery :( therefore the feeling of resigning creeped up. But that would honestly be such a pity to leave few days before maternity leave (after having served comapny for almost 4 yrs i would think i am entitled a good maternity leave atleast)

Bump Hi guess didnt get many replies from you guys on the maternity leave so thought would refresh, just wondering how many leaves you all are entitled to as my company is giving a meagre [b'>45 CALENDAR DAYS [/b'> ONLY which comes upto one and a half month only and unfortunately dont have many annuals left as well :( i really need to know ASAP cos making important decision of whether to quit now or after availing my maternity leave Please please tell me how many leaves all you december working ladies are entitled to.

Hey you all , just a quick question to the December 2011 ladies. How much leave according to UAE maternity leave policy are we entitled to and how many are you working moms targeting for I do know it is a standard 45 days in which you can add your annual leave (which in my case isnt many) but can i attached unpaid leaves to this as well and how soon before the EDD can i start my leave ......any answers would be much appreciated :)

Hey southern one more question if you don mind , but was it your normal doc doing the scan or some other specialised sonographer. The thing is i have my app with my doc on the 12th of July (19 weeks) and i don know if that is the day when i will have my anomaly scan or will she schedule it on a seperate date

Yup thats right DC as you can imagine i really dont need two foetal dopplers so deffinitely want it off my hands, as for the price yea i know but honestly i saw the exact same thing at premaman for 499 and i was SHOCKED . Yes i did use it to hear the heartbeat and it works super fine :), it is actually a great thing to have around just to make sure that there is a lil one inside since we arent fortunate enough to have felt it move already PJ if ur interested just let me know ur email address and we can decide when and how you can pick it up if ur still interested :)

Congrats on ur pgcy! Love pgcy news and cute baby additions! I did it for my first baby at 26 weeks and it was really nice. Gender confirmation too. dr told us the gender at 13weeks for my sons with u/s Wow how lucky of you to have known, my doc jus ddnt bother though i did inquire if she can make out in the 13 week scan , but she jus bluntly said no , anyhow will think abt it as im still a bit early on for it i guess <em>edited by Enigma1979 on 13/06/2011</em>

Hey DC im with Medcare hospital Jumeirah and i am sooo unhappy with the doc cos she does honestly treat me like a number, she has alotted a specific 5 minutes and thats it whatever u can ask in those few minuts you can ask (that too u will get many disgruntled replies) and the rest is left for your next vist which for us is a month apart.

I jus feel this to be a looot of vitamins , cos generally ppl jus go on pregnacare and that seems enough?? what do u say

Hey Dubai71 , well apparently the blood test is a part of the NT scan and collectively looking at the scan and the blood test they will be adble to deduce the chances of baby having future downs syndrome. They look at various factors like the age , the ultrasound and the blood test and then come up with the chance of you having a downs syndrome baby. Its a fairly new procedure i would say as i didnt have this last time for my DD.

Hey all , i too am planning to quit after the baby but cant figure out whether i should: 1. Do the whole 8 /9 months and then take maternity leave so that i get paid for the 45 days (which i think i deserve after 3 years with them ) and then when maternity leave gets over then tell them i am not coming back at all or would that be unethical 2. Leave in my 5/6 month as anyhow once they find out i am not intending to come back they wont pay for the 45 days Please give ur valuable inputs

Hey guys thought i would update that had my nuchal translucency test yesterday and was great. It was sooo nice to see though it was very quick and didnt take much time. They took the blood test but said results would take two weeks but keeping my fingers crossed. God seems like such a loonggg wait till the scan and then once it happens its over in a few minutes :( anyhow next meeting with doc is faar faar away 12th of july so thats a downer as wont get to see bubs for a whole six weeks. By the way she couldnt tell the *** just as yet but it was 144 beats/minute. Any old wives tale guesses based on heart rate ?

Hey dc as u may remember were same month buddies, but tell me whats preggie POPs , sounds interesting but i have no idea, please feel free to enlighten me and the sad part is this one is my second so should be more knowledgeable in this area. Also tell me did u have ur nuchal translucency scan yet, im scheduled for next tuesday and scared **** cos honestly i don have much symptoms anymore and cant even feel the baby move as of now (since obviously its tooo early )so jus stressing and hoping all is well in there :)

I totally understand that feeling ;). I think, though, that those monitors can only pick up heartbeats from 21 or 22 weeks - would that be further on that you are now? I'm racking my brains now because I have a feeling I saw one somewhere recently. My brain is fried but I'll keep trying to remember. Thanks DubaiCat, really appreciate your help , and no i am wayy before the 21/22 week mark , am at 9th week :S

Hey Enigma! I'm also in my 9th week and I'm not taking Duphaston. Instead I'm on Estrogen tabs, progesterone tabs, and that novidoxine to quell my nausea. I cant tell anymore if I'm bloated or if I am just eating too much, but none of my pants fit anymore. As I read, thats quite common and then it just continues as your little bean moves out of your pelvic region. Anyhow, try this, realize it will only get bigger, eat less veggies that cause gas and relax. That's all I'm doing ;)!! But hey, nice to hear some one is around the same time as me. What's your due date? Mine is Dec. 9th. Wishing you happiness and healthiness! Hey DC im due on December 6th , thats kool our due dates are so close. Well actually as i said maybe she gave it to me since i have PCOS and would require them. By the way what doc are you showing and are you happy with her. I am at Medcare and not too happy. I am also constantly bloated and i think my stomach has grown quite a bit which feels more like the bloat affect and not the baby as were still to early to be showing.

Yea i understand that i may be stressing myself out but the point is even not having it will stress me , cos gynae appointments are far apart at the stage i am in , therefore i just wanted something with which i can personally use and make sure all is well . I know i probably sound a little finicky but cant help it till i cant actually feel it move i need some reassurance.

many thanks everybody for your hugs...you specially need them when you are far from home. after shedding tears for 1 week and having terrible headache from last 10 days now i have come to terms with this and hoping better luck next time . edited by manubhadauria on 19/04/2011 Hi Manubha if you dont mind me asking how did it happen, did u feel something or just went for scan one fine day and found out , am asking cos i am in same boat as you , PCOS sufferer and 6 weeks preggers but extremely tensed that something like this may happen to me as well, i know they say u have to be positive and everything but its harrd when your a pcos sufferer and termed as HI risk pregnancy :(

Better go and see any good obs. If she has previous complications and is married and has kids then it's only unto doctor to decide whether pregnancy is harmful or not. Then it Can be terminated. Hurry then at least you have option of going home for termination. And here I am scheduled for d&c for sat coz my baby has stopped growing :( Extremely sorry to hear of this , hang in there , theres always next time , i know its easier said then done but then again we dont really have a choice.
