Can you do a search for a new device and see if it detects your printer? Or did you think of updating the driver? I didn't very much understand the description but I am trying to have a picture :)

Thank you ladies for your lovely replies. I love the poem. About weaning, indeed I meant night weaning, otherwise I am willing to continue till DD is around 2 or perhaps till she weans herself, donno, perhaps as long as it takes. My only concern is this new habit of waking up at nights again. I am very tired! So in the middle of the night I just can't do the fetching between her room and our room anymore and just keep her in bed and now she is used to it and doesn't wanna stay in her cot after midnight. And so far I don't feel I can do the crying down thing. She doesnt seem very interested during the day, just whenever she is thirsty or hungry but when I offer, she doenst always take it. So I just don't refuse, and she is asking mostly at night /: she wasn't like this two months ago. I just realized that it has been two months now that we are doing this and it is starting to weigh on me.

Hi, does anyone know of a good agency that provides help ( nanny or babysitter)? Per hour or live-out, that I could contact please. Or, do you recommend a nursery? I need some ME time. Help. Thanks edited by gaijind on 18/09/2012

Hello, I have a question for experienced nursing mummies: My baby is now ten months and a half. Since we came back from the holidays, things have changed. Am still nursing at night and she now wakes up many times. She doesn't wanna stay in her bed after midnight. She has only two teeth but is almost walking. My questions are: when do you drop the night feeds? How often does a ten or eleven month baby nurse usually? Any typical schedule to suggest? Finally, how to wean a baby by age 1year? This post is mainly for the nursing advice etc. I will have to write another one regarding her new sleeping habits... /: vacation does really ruin one's routine or perhaps babies do change the older they get when going thru milestones! ... Thanks for any feedback.

Oh that sounds nice. I'll try and join though Mirdiff is a little far for me. So, does it mean there are no downtown mummies out there in the forum? /: I hope there would be some. Or else I'll have to go to Mirdiff!

I was in ur shoes last year. Till delivery I didn't have a name in my mind but the name her dad liked from a list I read to him ^^ and that I wasn't sure about. When my eyes met her eyes, there, it came out: Kenza ( = Treasure). :) She is now 9 months and she truly is our Treasure. I wish you a safe delivery and a healthy baby. That's what matters most. Her name is already chosen, you just don't know it yet ;)

I went for the first time to this mosque this Friday with my husband and baby daughter (9months) to discover that children were not allowed in! It was super hot outside and the cleaner did not allow me at the women section. After a long fight i managd to wait outside but in the shade and after my husband was done with the prayer, I went upstairs to the women prayer room while my husband held the baby to find three kids in the prayer room, the room that was big and almost empty !!! The cleaner/ guard told me then: "u can go from the other door with the child" what amazes me is that both entries/doors lead to the same room! So I don't get it why others were allowed in while not us, and make me miss the prayer. I was and still am very upset. I don't recommend this mosque despite its luxury! It is clearly not family friendly! We tried to contact management to complain but no one was available! If you have their number, please would give it to me as I called the information number and they don't have it o_O.

so don't consider it! if it makes you this unhappy and miserable, don't cut ties. it is better you keep arguing with her, may be she'll give up smoking, but then again, she made it 80 years... so cigarettes don't matter anymore at this stage, perhaps. May be you should open up and tell her all this. Tell her how you feel about her and how you feel she neglected you, you might be surprised that she could see things differently.

Hi, I had that pain.>_< Avoid standing up for too long. When the pain strikes, just sit down or lay down. Simply REST. Swimming actually helped me. Good luck. Soon you'll deliver and all becomes history :)

I can't recommend Dr. Andrea enough! She's AMAZING. I delivered with her last October. She has recently opened her own clinic: Western Medical Center. It is on al wasl road, near the iranian hospital. tel num: 043855655 She still delivers at IMH as far as I know. If I'm pregnant again, I'll definitely chose her again :)

Happy New Year Everyone. May it be a wonderful year for you and your loved ones. I have posted a few days ago a question regarding introducing a routine for a baby. I can't find my thread, now. There was plenty of valuable information from the replies, despite some arguments. But it was very informative and I didn't have time to save all the links and or book titles/other info that was suggested to me!! I am very sad, what happened? Why can't I find my thread? It had over 30 replies I think :( Please someone help me understand and get back the info I lost :( PS: baby keeps me tied up, so I don't check frequently and not for a long time. I appreciate you keep this thread. Thanks.

I delivered there six weeks ago :) I agree with Mona75 about the nurses. It is my first time and they confused me with breastfeeding positions and timings. They didn't have a lactation consultant. But other than that they were very nice and helpful. I chose it because my OB, Dr. Andrea delivers there for now and I LOVE Dr. Andrea! I had a natural birth: as Dr. Andrea has her own clinic, here how payment went for Delivery: 7000 dhs for hospital and 5000dhs for Dr. If it were c-section, we've been told it would be: 15000dhs hospital and 8000dhs Dr. We didn't use epidural after all, so price not included. It was not a bad experience. You should go see the delivery floor and they ll give u a tour :)

My sister will be visiting for almost a month in November. She has a 13 months old baby. I'd like to find a car seat for her to use when she is here. Can someone help me find out if we can rent such things or is there someone who has an extra car seat that i can borrow for the duration of her stay, then give it back, of course :). Many thanks.

I think I'd simply ask why, he doesn't wanna go and would tell him that it upsets me or makes me feel sad to be without him in an event like that and see what he says. Speculations and/or assumptions might come afterwards :). First, I try to get his "alibi" ^^.

Hi, My brother-in-law and niece have applied through the UAE embassy in Canada. They first have called and they told them what to do. They did it two weeks ago. As of the airlines, they could check their offices in Canada. I am sure they will give them straightforward info. The visa is doable from Canada. If you, however, wanna do it from UAE, then, indeed, you need to sponsor them. If you go to Immigration in Bur Dubai, they have all the info or check their website. You'll need to go to the typing center (there too, they can tell you what docs u need), with a copy of ur parents passport ID pages, ID photos, money, your resident and passport copy, salary certificate if u work etc. if you don't work and u r on ur husband's visa, he should be the one sponsoring them. edited by gaijind on 16/10/2011

Hi, Before when I was working, I could easily sponsor my family etc. Now, my visa has changed. I am sponsored by my husband and it says Housewife on my resident visa. I need to sponsor my sister to visit me for my delivery etc. Can I do it? Or my husband has to do it? Any idea of the documents in this case please or links to where to look for info? Thank you for your assistance.

Hello again, Some people have recommended Dragon Mart for curtains. Has anyone been there recently? Which shops do you recommend in Dragon? It is HUGE! As am pregnant I get easily tired, so I'd appreciate if someone can help me locate the curtains area. I always get lost in dragon as everything seems all over the place. Thanks. :)
