Do you know what, thats news to me that there is a childs ticket!!! I've been paying full price every time I go, even for 2 and a half year old grrrrrrrr Second this, have never paid a child's rate here over our 31/2 years. I was going to say the same thing. I had no idea that there even was a child's rate. Me neither I had no idea ! I've been paying full price for my two kids for years and none of the the sales person told me anything when they can see I had kids with me! O_o Same here! I actually say at the counter 1 adult two children and they still charge me full price, so I just assumed there was no childs ticket, now I'm feeling ripped off by Reel Cinemas too!!!

Our lease is not expiring till next year and will only get the letter 3 months before it does so will not need to look for a while yet thank goodness. We will try to stay down this end but will most probably end up in Sadaf or down that end where they have bigger ones, but definitely still in JBR.

There have been a few threads on here about this but apparently the usual hang out to hire guys with trucks is by DAA in Al Barsha just when you turn off of umm Suqueim Rd. Not sure if they are there on Friday though.

No not due to maintenance issues at all! In fact idama have been amazing of late and any maintenance issues have been dealt with very efficiently. Shams 1 has been sold and as half is already salwan hotel apartments when people's leases are up they are not being re-newed. The vacated apartments will be turned into more hotel apartments or sold to private people. Sadly, the building is the fullest it has been in 3 years and people don't want to move but have no choice.

Well said Amelia, I think she has nothing better to do with her time trying to dissuade people from living in JBR. Obviously its not for her but for us here , we like it! When our lease expires next year we will most probably continue living here. Again noise in Shams is really not a problem for us, hardly hear any on the weekend unless our doors are open and its not cool enough for that yet. Some people may not enjoy it and move out for various reasons but others remain and are happy. The tenants in our building are all being turfed out at the end of our lease and none of us want to go but have no choice and the majority I have spoken to if had a choice would not leave and as they have to will continue to find somewhere still in JBR as they like it here. Speaks for itself!!! I think this thread should end too.

Anyone? Please... LOL the whole place is a dump Do you live in jbr? Don't see how you can say that. Some areas are nicer that others and if was really a dump people would not be living there. We have lived sin shams for 3 1/2 years and enjoy it, trust me when I hear the stories from all my other friends in various parts all over Dubai is anywhere any better? Shams , Amwaj and Rimal are Ll nice areas, the only noise we hear at the moment is the co striation from a few buildings but it and the traffic noise does not really bother us, you get used to it, if it's there?? I say go for it! Rimal's location is great and easier to get in and out of the car park than the beginning towers of JBR.

For Italian Food i recommend Casa Mia, Le Meridien Airport. I have been to Amala and the food was ok but nothing special. I know some other restaurants in Karama, which are serving better Indian food. My husband is of Indian background and loved Amala,we were recommended it by other Indian friends too. Yes, Karama and Bur Dubai has great Indian food but mistryb I believe wanted somewhere nice for a special occasion and this is one that fits the bill!

My sister looked after my three when we went away and vice versa looking after my sister's child, we make sure to have passports and a letter stating you are giving authority to look after the children. This is in the event that something should happen and they need medical assistance. Just to be one the safe side and it may even pay to give a copy of the will just in case, you never know.

Murjan, go round the fish and chips shop corner and first ramp up into the building to the right and park on that level to the left.

We have been to Benihana a few times. No problems with staff and service levels, not totally authentic Japanese but still a nice dinner out! The Teppanyaki side is nice for something different, have even seen kids, older ones having a birthday party there.
