My DS is 8 months & has always been a pretty solid sleeper at night. His daytime naps reduced to three 45 min-1 hr naps during the day about 2 months ago. In the last week or so approx 30 mins after he falls asleep in his crib at 7pm, he wakes up absolutely screaming with wee wet cheeks & just so upset :( This then happens periodically 1-3 times throughout the night & I am just devastated to see him Iike this. Tonight was terrible as he normally settles when he is lifted but nothing would comfort him & it just happened again at 9pm. He isn't cold, eats his last solid meal 3 hrs before bed ( he has his bottle after his bath before bed tho) & has a really regular routine. The only change I can think of is that we had blackout lining put in his curtains around that time, but I left a wee light on for him tonight & it still happened :( I went back to work in Nov & he appeared to be doing great could it be a delayed reaction to that? ? Constructive advice much appreciated, TIA xxx

My husband and I went to a place in Satwa just along from the petrol station. We got a 'maids bed' with mattress, small wardrobe with drawers underneath, collapsible table & chair & bedding all for less than 1000 dhs! I think once you put some shelving, a mirror and decorative boxes you can make it really nice for them :)

Thanks guys! He's far from starved I swear;) He always leaves a little with his other feeds during the day it's just his bedtime feed I was concerned about. I'll try more scoops tonight

Thanks for the info ladies :) I would love to simply increase his existing formula however 210 Mls with 7 scoops is the max recommended on the packaging. He has 6 bottles a day already which is recommended for 6 months and he is only just 4 months. I thought perhaps a more substantial formula at night would be more satisfying. Thanks again :)

I just remembered a great tip Cecile gave me for sore nipples ( I had craters missing from mine OUCH!) after each feed dab gently with clean, cool wash cloth & apply olive oil. I applied it with cotton wool & my nipples healed as quickly as they were hurt. Also air you b$$bs, your husband will get over the fact that you look like something from the Discovery Channel I swear :) i am also a huge fan of the Avent nipple shields.

Hi Elnino, I remember feeling exactly the same but I promise it gets better! Mine is now nearly 4 months but I clearly remember just feeling so traumatized & in over my head. The best advice I was given was do whatever it takes to make this time easier on yourself & do see a LC & Doctor. Even if it's just to reassure you that nothing is wrong & give you some peace of mind. It's such a special time & it's easily missed amongst all the stress and sleep deprivation. There is a coffee morning tomorrow at MOE if you feel up to it, you might feel better sharing with other Mums :)

My husband has suffered from this for years & the constant leg shaking at night drove us both nuts. He was refered to a neurologist at home in Australia and was prescribed Sifrol. You can buy it over the counter in pharmacies here & worked really well for him.

Hi Plumie ;) Next month I go back flying so have to stop completely by then. I don't really want him having to deal with too much change at once by leaving it until then tho. He was B/feeding at 7am, 9am, 3pm, 5.30pm, his night feeds where b/fed also. He had 3 bottles including dream feed all 210 ml (he is only 11 weeks) and is now having 6 bottles per day & my b#€bs look like I work in a different industry:\: lol!

Thanks so much Ladies! Today I didn't drink any Epson salts just a well fitted sports bra with crushed cabbage leaves & Ibruprofen. I actually can't lift anything or raise my arms today & I have lumps the size of peas that returned today after I massaged/ expressed them away during the night is that normal? I'm thinking of resuming a couple of feeds but I'm a bit worried though as a website I read said you should not feed your bub once you have ingested Epson salts but doesn't say how long it takes to pass from your system. If I continue cold turkey am I at greater risk of developing mastitis? TIA

I'm so sorry for the late reply I've been on holiday :) Basically the needle was inserted to far in by a female Doctor perhaps the same one as Emma, the epidural numbed my entire body including throat, eyelids etc causing my LO to go into distrss & my heart rate and blood pressure to drop which was frightening for DH with all the bells & whistles going off. My spinal cord was clipped accidentally as it's a blind procedure, resulting in cerebral spinal fluid leaking which is beyond painful. It took 3 attempts and an extra 2 days in hospital to correct this eventually with a blood patch. In the mean time I could not b/f, eat, lift my bub or my head without morphine. I have been told this has not happened in that particular hospital in the last 2 years & only happens to every 1 in 200 women. The anaethsitists who did the blood patch were fantastic & so were the midwives & nursing staff! Very best wishes & please don't worry! Yes, it's good to be aware but occasionally s@$? happens to others it doesn't mean it will happen to you :) My bub & I are both very healthy and happy so it was all worth it!! Good luck & take care of yourself & bump xxx

Thanks so much Kiwispiers I have your email address :)) Yeah it's only for putting him for sleeps defiantly not during the night. I'm just worried that me cuddling him until he's asleep, (even though I love it) is unfair to him as I have to return to work in Nov. I just thought if I could implement some good habits now it will be an easier transition when I do go back to work :))

Lovely man and great at appointments however during a 28 hr labour and 5 day hospital stay due to a complication I saw him once for 5 mins & just before my release. He didn't deliver my lo in the end as it was the middle of the night. But that's just my experience, best wishes with everything xxx

I'm sorry you've been feeling down:( Mummy makeover sounds like an ideal thing to be doing! I'm a HUGE makeup fan...literally at the moment lol, you always feel and look so much brighter when you have you have your hair tidy and your war paint on! You know when you either create a nice feature or disguise a not-so-nice one with makeup well good underware will do that for your body until you have time and energy to diet/exercise, just fake it lol! I rather optimistically got my DH to download "30 Day Shred" for me to try once I'm able after the birth (I'm not a fan of exercise lol) Id be happy to get him to burn it onto disk to pass on to you if you'd like to try it? I'm in Business Bay. There's nothing worse than feeling down on yourself and there's certainly nothing to feel guilty about :) xxx

Big hug to you Julz I know that feeling! It's the website Gina recommended but unfortunately not too many 'pretty bits' for Mums, more for bubs. There was some good spanxs style underware which I already got in Saks and used before I became pregnant and they were great for smoothing out any bumps or jiggly bits. Even if your wearing a maxi dress they are great for making you look firmer. I'm due in 4ish weeks and a wee bit worried about my almighty tummy and what will become of it:);)

Hi Irooni:) I had a package of 4 chemical peels (before I became pregnant) from Kaya Clinic, it was 1650 and loved the results. They give you a free consultation and recommend what you should get after looking at your skin. Ihad gone in thinking I needed microdermabration. I think it's pretty rare to see a difference after just one treatment but I definatly did, good luck and hope this helps xx

Lol! I just did my kitchen, I HATE doing it!:\: Anyways make sure shes either using a string mop or Vileda material one and has a bucket with a wringer and uses it everytime she pops the mop in the water. I find it best to use VERY hot water and not too much product. A generous splash of white vinegar and some washing up liquid is what I use but everyone is different. Its also important to change the water when you can see it needs it, there no point in washing the floor if the water is dirty. If she has used too much product just quickly run over it with cold water so the floor doesnt dry in dull. Goodluck xxx

Love a good tea party! I recently got lovely cake stands in Crate & Barrel. How about some sandwiches with the crusts cut off, some quiche, fairy cakes with different colour icing, large sponge cake, little meringues, maybe some Mr Kipling style tarts, you know the ones with the cherry on top? Fresh lemonade and some Pimms for Mums and maybe some different flavored teas xx

Congratulations Sandyprincess! Enjoy eating :) Your body is busy doing a wonderful thing and deserves a reward (so do you), all you should do is watch your sugar intake and don't eat rubbish. However your body is going to get bigger, it has too and we all put it on differently. I stuggled a bit getting my head around gaining weight at first (I'm 8 months pregnant) but its necessary :) Have a wonderful pregnancy and enjoy your occasional treats xx
