I have used Yasmin for several years and have had no side effects .It helped me with adult acne and made my skin look so much better. But I think its different for everyone..have read that some have had issues such as weight gain/mood swings etc. Personally it has been a great pill for me! HTH

**Off to ring DH to get me some BF Pregancare in the UK** Was wondering about this too, as I don't think I am getting enough vitamins in from my meals, so was also looking for something to supplement my diet with! Plumie they have a 3 for 2 promotion on the Vitabiotics website...you might want him to order it online and have it delivered in Uk and bring it back for you :)

Even I took the Normal Pregnacare during pregnancy and then moved to Breastfeeding Pregnacare. I have never heard of BF Pregnacare. Is it available here? I found it once in a pharmacy at Oasis Center but never after that..So had a friend get me some packs from UK. But you can try ordering from the Vitabiotics website directly..its seems they ship worldwide http://www.vitabiotics.com/addtocart.aspx?ID=155

I am using the Medela Swing and have not had any problems. Its quite compact and does not make any noticeable noise and I'm quite happy with the expressing speed. But personally If I had to pump at work, I would have gone for one of Medela's Dual pump.

DS was on Aptamil Comfort when he was 6 weeks old and his poo was always green unlike the yellow one when he was exclusively BF.I too was quite scared when I saw it the first time but then discovered that it happened only when I gave him Aptamil comfort to ease his reflux...So probably it could be the formula.

Frannie, if you still havent found one of these..I got this link from another EW thread and was browsing it for something completely different but when I saw that they are selling so many babyliss products, I remembered your swishy hair thread :) Not sure if they have what you are looking for but maybe you can give them a call. http://www.nazih.com/category.php?category=Electrical+Products&type=Curling+Iron

I also have the original which is fantastic. This weekend I discovered I could even BF 15 wk old DD whilst walking around the mall with her in it. She was happy as anything. All you need to do is make sure you have a shirt that you can pull to one side and I draped a scarf down the side so no one could see anything (and I was just making certain - this probably wasn't even necessary). Yeah I have also seen many videos of women BF their little ones by using the Ergo Sleep Hood :)

Thanks for the replies ladies:) will definitely get the original then. But will try to maybe find a secondhand one first. So if anyone is selling an ergo please let me know. Hope you find someone who will sell you their's..sadly they are very to hard to come by on classifieds.I know because I kept looking for a second hand one on dubizzle and other classifieds for weeks but never came across one. But then again that shows that not a lot of people are selling them, as they are so good :)

Thanks! Am gonna try Carrefour ones a shot too :) Yea, the only prob with Sanita is that they are a bit roungh on the leg.. my DD always has the lines on her thighs... but they dont particularly hurt her. Yeah do that Shaf..Was really not expecting much when I bought the carrefour ones but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised!

Another huge Ergo fan here :) I have the Ergo Original and have used it with DS since he was 6 weeks old (with the infant insert). I also have the Baby Bjorn which I like for now but dont think I would be able to use it once DS is over 8-9 kgs.Where as have used the Ergo with my 18 months old niece with no problems..and I do have a bad back. Last month I bought a few different brands to try for my DS...not particularly to save money but more to compare the quality. So I got Sanita, Carrefour, Pampers Regular & Pampers premium. I would rate them as follows: 1)Pampers Premium: Really nice..soft and stretchy. They are pricey but I love them! 2)Carrefour: I was surprised that these were better than the regular pampers...felt nice and no leaks. 3)Pampers regular: We all know the quality of these ;) 4)Sanita Bambi: No problems with absorbency but the elastic band around the legs was a little rough...so dint like the feel much. Not tried the Lulu, fine etc so cant comment.

I think we have this one. It's definitely BT, anyway! Our only complaint is that the battery runs down pretty quickly but we are forever guilty of leaving it on the base and apparently that's what does it. I'm going home on the 26th, back on April 7th - if you want to order one and have it delivered to Mum's I'm happy to bring it back for you. Wow..Thanks a lot DC thats really nice of you and I would love to take you up on the offer :) I'll probably order it from Amazon uk, as they seem to have the lowest price GBP 50 approx. My email id is glitzi123@gmail.com. Thanks again.

We had one of these a couple of years ago, and it stopped working quite quickly. In fact, it was only when we heard screaming in the distance that we realized it had just switched off. If you double-check the 1-star reviews on Amazon, you'll see lots of people have had this problem with this monitor...I really would not recommend it. When we returned it, they acknowledged it was a manufacturing fault - which is outrageous, because that would mean it's not fit for purpose. We went for the best-selling Philips one as a replacement, and that one has been reliable for over a year now. I think you can get it here, perhaps in Babyshop? Hope this helps - sorry I don't want to rain on your parade about the BT monitor, but I wish someone had warned us! Thanks for sharing your experience eclaire...Its just that DH has researched this and is **** bent on getting this one even though its not available here!

Glitzi, if you are still looking for a jumperoo, I have a friend who has one and willing to sell. Let me know. I am not Glitzi but if Glirzi doesnt want it I have been looking for 2 months now and would really like to buy it from your friend. Yasmin, I would buy the jumperoo sometime next month when DS will turn 4 months so if you wish you can take Tahms's offer!

Glitzi, is it the one I mentioned that you're after? The Rainforest Jumperoo? If so you should really try and get to Festival City, or ask someone close by to check for you. ;) Yes thats the one Shelly and after seeing the price difference will be getting it from Toys R us Festival City. I am so upset with their staff in all 3 branches who were just too lazy to check and thought it was easier to just lie and say that they are not in stock. I do have the name of one of them and actually contemplating reporting the matter when I am there. Thanks for letting me know that they are available!

Mothercare MOE had them for 600-odd a couple of weeks ago. I got ours on Dubizzle as at the time they weren't available anywhere here, and it was absolutely fine - pretty much perfect so I just washed the fabric seat bit in the machine and the rest with Dettol. But Toys R us are selling for Dhs 489..I just checked today. Mothercare is selling it very expensive then :\:

Thanks for the recommendation Shaf! Read some good reviews on the Jumperoo and watched some you tube videos, the kids just love it and were happily bouncing away so will be getting one of these :) Apparently most kids like it for atleast few months.. until around they are 8-9 months old.. so really hoping DS does not get bored of it too soon! But still in two minds about the Bumbo with the tray..

We bought ours from Toys R Us at Festival City 3 days ago, and they had heaps in stock. I'd say approx 15-20 in stock. Saw them with my own eyes! Shelly...Unbelievable customer service! I just called all their branches..Time square, Deira & Festival City and was told in all 3 places that have been out of stock for months!. In fact the customer service lady from Deira called me back to let me know that it was out of stock and took down my details, said will they will let me know when they are back. I did ask them the price and they said its for Dhs 489, hope thats correct!....Is that what you paid? edited by Glitzi on 13/03/2011

Chiggy's tip is quite good... as fried paneer does enhance the flavour in some recipes. But even though I have never fried it prior to adding in the dish, it has not crumbled ..so I am guessing its the brand you used.

p.s. also we use a muslin square over the moses basket/pram with bull dog clips to block out stimulation. Remove mobile's/toys etc from the crib. Nutty..I took your muslin tip and used one to cover the cot securely with clips. Today turned out to be a good day and we managed to get some good naps out of him one for 45 mins and another for an hour and half...so maybe cutting all visual stimulation has helped.

Plumie, Thanks for sharing your routine and its nice to know that there are other EASY babies on EW :) So far I have been following Tracy's routine quite loosely but I am realizing that its the one DS is most happy on and I am loving the flexibility. I have only read the " The Secrets of the Baby Whisperer" but am planning on getting her other book "Baby whisperer solves all your problems" which is more detailed..so hoping it will have more info on tweaking DS's napping routine. But generally I am quite happy with his Night time sleeping. And I really wish swaddling worked for us..but he just hates being swaddled Lets hope his naps get sorted soon otherwise I will need Cecile's help :)

At least he sleeps well at night and it sounds like he's bang on for his age. But not having time to yourself in the daytime, and not being able to rely on a routine, is horrible. Do you stay home most of the day or are you in and out so he has to nap in the car/in the pram etc? We used to be out and about all the time but I've found DS sleeps so much better now he has almost every daytime nap in his cot. For us, his morning nap - about an hour after he wakes up - is key and if he doesn't get this, or it's not a good enough/long enough sleep, the day is off to a rocky start. We can usually rely on the car as a last resort if we're not home in time for his pre-dinner nap but I make sure his lunchtime nap is always in his cot too. Apparently once you establish a routine and baby knows when he or she goes to sleep each day, you should be able to take them out and about more and they'll just nap when they normally do, but I haven't been brave enough to try it beyond going round to a friend's with a travel cot! Too many months of sleep deprivation have made me a bit of a routine freak :D. I am generally a planner and a complete routine freak so really know how that feels ;) .I had done loads of reading before DS arrived and in my head everything made perfect sense but...hmmmm..well had to learn it the hard way that its not always that easy. Although I still completely believe in having a routine but have realised that there needs to be room for flexibility as well. So now working towards not a being a clock watching freak (which was just killing having any fun with DS) but at the same time having a somewhat predictable day with DS. DH travels a lot and I am usually at home so DS has always been napping in his cot from the beginning and rarely in a carseat or stroller. Btw today was a good day..he did manage a 45 min nap in the morning and an 1.5 hr in the afternoon. So I got some "Me" Time :) Thanks for sharing your routine and I know from your other posts that you also went through a difficult phase but am so glad that its all worked out :)

Thanks Nutty...& great to find another EASY follower! I have learnt his tiredness cues after observing him closely and act pretty fast...he is usually ready for a nap within 1-1.15hr. It had been working fantastically until now..along with the shush and pat. But since last week things seems to have gone all wrong. I will take your muslin with clips advise over the cot as he is always looking around at stuff in the room..even though I make it very dark. Maybe I need to get some blackout blinds!

DC, he is actually ok in the nights..Bedtime is between 6.30-7pm, then a dream feed at 10.30 pm. He usually wakes up between 2-3am for a feed and then in the morning around 6-7am. Fingers crossed..I really hope that does not change! After that I follow a 3 hr eat-activity-sleep kind of schedule (Tracy Hogg)..its the sleep part thats just not happening. He keeps resisting sleep all day and a vicious cycle of over tiredness goes on..At the end of the day, there is one very grumpy baby and an overly exhausted mom who is just waiting for DH to get home..so that he can take it from there :(

I love the Ergo carrier and have used it with the infant insert to fly with my LO at 7 weeks. Never used the sling so cannot compare..but I also bought the Bjorn carrier recently and think thats also great for a younger baby...very compact. But personally I dont think Bjorn would be comfortable once the baby is older and weighs above 8 kgs..so its only one that you would buy then I would say Ergo is a better choice. Rgding the newborn set...seems like a good price to pay for the extras. Would just like to add..do check the airline policy for travelling with infant..as some dont fly babies under 15 days. HTH

I would be flying soon with my 6 weeks DS alone for the first time and am a bit nervous.... have been reading similar threads so that I can be well prepared. He is on a combination of breastmilk and formula feeds & i would be more comfortable carrying formula on the flight. He also has a slight congestion so would take him to the Doc before the flight for a checkup....is that something to worry about? Would love to hear from experienced mommies some of your top tips for flying. TIA
