I tried that - I will just bombard social media and encourage everyone to call EMAAR. I think they will take issue with the RTA trying to pass the buck. I agree Alismum, it's tough here sometimes. Persistence pays I think. Persistence definitely pays here. Stix, I think you should try your complaint again with RTA! edited by Haim on 31/12/2014

Definitely a year of mashed up feelings, highs and the lowest of lows. But I must say that every year :) hope you all have a wonderful time celebrating this evening and tomorrow. Happy New Year!

Batiste from Boots Ditto - look for the Batiste range. I imagine they will be cheaper than a Sephora product!

If I'm entirely honest, and I'm sure others might agree, you may want to consider looking elsewhere other than Palm Jumeirah. You can get much nicer apartments, in a much better location for less. Depending on where your careers will be, try JLT/Marina/Tecom or somewhere. They're sort of near the Palm, but you won't get the hassle of trying to get to and from your home every day due to traffic. My husband and I moved to the Marina recently and absolutely love it. Good luck in your search however :) edited by Haim on 31/12/2014

The thought naively crossed my mind.. Water bottles.. Bubbly.. But nope! No way! Drinking in public is highly forbidden, and all it takes is the wrong nose to sniff your water bottle. If you still want a pop for NY though, like polly said... Get a non-alcoholic version. Have a great one!

I used to dislike my folks when they never let me go to either Reading or Leeds fest... I used to have friends at school at the age of 14 who went!! But while that sounds all shocking, their parents went with them so they had a nice balance of being watched over, and the chance to experience a festival with their groups of friends! If you're back in the UK at the same time, why don't you make it a family thing? In hindsight personally, it doesn't bother me now that I never got to go at the ages of 16 or below. Once I hit 18, freedom came to do with it what I wished! And while I agree that drugs and alcohol will be readily available at a place such as Reading Festival, I imagine it's a case of going looking and knowing who to look for to get them... and I also imagine your son wouldn't do that!

I've never had chance to go to a coffee morning, but I've been to their monthly evening out a couple of times and it was great! Worth a try? And congrats Figs! I'm also newly married, April this year :)

For whitening and a hollywood smile, check out Just White Dental Clinic. I've had whitening there and loved it! And I've had my eye on their six month smile treatment for a while now... Worth a look for you?

I used Firefox. Fairydust mine didn't look as if it worked either, but it could be that it's in the pending pile wating for admin approval. Ok, will wait and see. Didn't see it in the upload box though. No mine didn't show either. Looked like nothing was attached. Me neither.. It didn't show but when I pressed update, it said successful and now it's showing! Wahoo!

Go to Just White Dental Clinic... They even made my terrified-of-the-dentist husband feel comfortable! They're not exactly in the Marina, but nearby... JBR, in the Al Fattan towers

Kindly do the needful. This! Also, the word 'retard' makes my blood boil. edited by Haim on 17/11/2014

This thread is so like, totes amazeballs  I have hatred for the word 'buddy'; my brother started recently using it as part of his whole, teenage, university lifestyle. It makes me want to punch him in the arm! Also, 'darling', 'lush', 'queen'. Queen in the sense of, 'hiya queen'. edited by Haim on 16/11/2014
