Hello mums :) I wanted to share my ultrasound picture at 16 weeks and 3 days. http://m1259.photobucket.com/albumview/albums/Hassli/1341253619.jpg.html?o=0&newest=1 Tell me if it is really a boy or there is a chance that it is a girl? I read a lot of articles that sometimes gender prediction based on ultrasound is incorrect.. What do you think? Am I in blue team? Or will be in pink team? Excited on my anomaly scan this coming 28th July :) Hope to see your ultrasound pics too :) edited by Hassli on 02/07/2012 edited by Hassli on 02/07/2012

hi hun, I am booked in with Dr Purnima Deb but my first appointment isn't until July 21st. I will be 36 weeks pregnant then (Coming over from the UK). How are your experiences so far? xx Hi JPS, She is great... I found her very accommodating and she answers all my and my husband questions.. (i am a first time mom and loaded with questions and She explains well.) She is straight to the point. I will back on 4th of Aug for the 5th month check then Dr. Elsa. After Dr. Elsa, I certainly recommend her :) Take care

Hi Ladies :) Hope all are well and having a great weekend despite the Hot Weather... I just had my fourth month (16 weeks and 3 days) check up with Dr. Purnima at CH. I find her nice.. Before the usual Scan, we ask of she will be able to tell us the gender.. But she said, gender check will be part of the detailed scan. It jut so happen my baby is in a very good position and from the monitor we know it is a Boy 100% Because, we already know the gender, me and my husband is thinking if we need to go for the detailed organ scan including echocardiography (19th week to 22 weeks). How important is this test (it cost 1200aed and my insurance does not cover the same). Take care. :)

Don't buy pet from a pet store... Maybe there are some birds and fish for free adoption... (or minimal adoption fee)

No need to get rid of cat if you are pregnant.. I am pregnant and have 3 cats and they make the house interesting to live in :) Have you tried those calming collar or spray which will make cats more tame... There is one even which is plug and automatically remits the substance which is calming for cats.. Maybe, this will do the trick... There is also a spray which is used to furniture and stuff and prevents cats to go near those area.. (forgot the name but you can have them from Any veterinary clinics). Hope you manage but please don't let him killed (euthanasia) it just so sad to let him die and take away the chance to live longer... Try to rehome him if you can't handled him any longer... Hi Tia... Same here... I am now 15 weeks and 1 day and frequently suffering from a very bad headache... Been like this two weeks ago.. And everytime I have it I really need to throw up then have a nap to ease the feeling... I didn't take any medications... I am using my menthol stick to rub on my head and neck and it will give me some relief.. Though need to check this with my doctor if this is ok or not... Wish this headache stops soon..

Hello ladies, I hope u r enjoying the long weekends with your families :) I have got a question - has anyone done any special tests , like those for down syndrome, where did u do it? I heard about the clinic next to city hospital ... and it will cost like 2000 + there.. Hi Molu, This is a very good and long weekend :) I haven't done any special test / scan yet and actually interested if it will be covered by my insurance. I heard about this FMC... Fetal medicine and Generic Center in Healthcare City (http://www.my-baby.net/#) and they offer a series of diagnostic scan. By the way, has anyone craving for cold stuff like ice cream? Will it be bad for pregnant women? I heard and read different views on this matter :) Take care ladies :)

Dr Azizunissa saved my life and also delivered my preemie baby I highly recommend her! Thanks Sami for the Reply. I will try to book with her and let me see. Is she pro natural delivery? I am afraid that doctors here will just go and opted to give u c-section for the money. Tell me more about your experience with her? Thanks Sami

Hi there, Would like to ask if anyone has experience with Dr. Purnima Deb. I will have my two months check up with her for the month of June and July and will be transferred to Dr. Elsa ( wish I could start with her but no avail). The booking staff also advise me if I like her on my first meeting, I should stick with her till delivery.. But, I heard a lot of good things about Dr. Elsa, so I don't know if I will follow the advice of the hospital staff.. What are your ideas? Thanks

I just called city hospital and ask if they squeeze me to dr Elsa schedule anytime anyday for month of june. They say they will call me back if someone cancels.. so for meantime I will be with dr. AZzizunisa. Does anyone tried her? My confirmed booking with dr. Elsa is aug. so, means to say need to be seen by other doctor. @dangerous blond - your so lucky .. You knew the gender as early as 12 weeks.. Me need to wait till end of this month and they say, it might be on the 5th month depends on baby's position... Good to know you are doing well and no longer high risk :) Happy pregnancy weekends everybody :)

Hello everyone :) Hope everything is fine and well :) It's already June 2012... 6 months more and it will be December 2012... (sight...) Where are you going for pre-natal class? Me, Maybe Cityhospital Finally, my DH sorted the insurance and we bought one..so thinking to go to city hopital. I heard Dr. Elsa is very good and will have a August slot..... Will call them if they can manage to squeeze me for my fourth month check up end of June or early July which I doubt..but still will still try. Will you opt to deliver the baby here in Dubai? Or Back home? Me, here.. It is expensive to go back home and we are only allowed for 45calendar days maternity leave. I will used my annual leave and have some unpaid leave. (will be back to office when my baby is already 3 months old) What brand of vitamins and milk you are taking? Me, caltrate, pregnacare and Pro PL for milk :) Do you have pets and if yes, how you manage taking good care while you're pregnant? Me, i have 3 adorable persan cats (all adopted) which gives me joy everyday.. (i played with them and talked to them about my baby and that there will be a new member of our home).. My DH cleans the litter tray. I wah my hand as often as possible. What is your usual meal plan? Me, dont have any. I usually buy homecooked food from outside. My DH opt for delivery as I dont have time to cook.. (so tired after work..from 8 to 6pm) but, during weekends i do try to cooked some veggies :) and some good food for my DH. How do you keep the house tidy while pregnant? Me, weekly vacuum and mapping for 1bedroom hall flat...All lifting and heavy work is done by my DH, the rest would be me :) but still, having pets, need a daily cleaning but we cant manage that... Do you have plans how to manage as a working mom after delivery? Us, we are still unsure how.. Shall we get a permanent ? Part time maid ? I will take care of our baby on the 3 months, then My mom will be here only when I go back to work for three months then we are clueless whats the next plan... Nursery as early as 6 months old??? Oh, sad for my baby now... I watched a lot of youtube videos about delivery and wishing i will deliver normally with epidural. (wish my placenta is in the correct position soon as I am more afraid of C.S.) Have you ever thought that Sonogram (which is also ultrasound) is harmful for us? My DH told me to inquire for the same, as my farher inlaw say it is actually not good for me and the baby... I read in the internet and got more confused :( some said it is harmful and can cause some defects, some said it is ok and necessity to aid the doctors. I winder how about those High Risk Pregnancy, they require not just a monthly scan. (confused... I have 4 sonogram now (6 weeks and 4 days (april 26), then after 6 days as i have bledding so they check inside if everything is alright, then 11weeks and 3 days (may 26) then 3 days afterthat as i went to new doctor for a possible UTI.) now, im worried, are these bad. I keep praying that Hope All is well for my baby. Now, i am thinking is I should ask my new doctor not to scan me every month.... (confused) Hmmmm.. Having a little colds now.. wish it will go away by just water theraphy :) My prayers for us for a healthy pregnancies :) Godbless:) (this is long post :) sorry guys... I'm up since 430am and cant go back to sleep.. Been thinking too much lately...i Had my milk and will iron clothes now.. Bye :))

Hi all, First check up on Wed all went well. Bub is coming along nicely. Still feeling rubbish also. A long way to go yet. Just cant get over how tired I feel all the time, and hungry and then sick. Usually in that order. :) Hassli, will u find out what your having? are you a sweet tooth usually? Both my DD's craved sweets all the time (not usually a sweet tooth) so that's something to think about. :) How you feeling DB? Thanks Tablair2004 :) I just arrive from a check up (finally found one nice doctor in karamA). She did ultrasound and O my O my.. I have a Dancer inside me.. I feel like crying... God is so amazing... Though I need to take extra care of myself... My placenta is blocking my cervix (placenta previa) which can lead to miscarriage... She said, i can't lift heavy things (something that will exert effort down).. No s** until my doctor said so.. No traveling (plane, sea and long driving)... Hope on my next month, my placenta goes far from my cervix.. (though the doctor said it will shift as the baby grows)... She also told me that as early as 4-5th month, she can tell the gender of my baby :) Prayer for all pregnant women out there :)

Thanks DB, I will try to find that brand :) I feel a bit ok than before but I have this dizziness most of the time... But tolerable now and good thing it does not affect my work that much... Great DB, hope they can tell my baby's Gender by 12 weeks (almost there). I notice the following changes in my body and my senses. (11 weeks 3 days) 1. My breast is not so tender now 2. Less frequent need to pee 3. My sense of smell is more sensitive and strong 4. Have white milky discharge (mild smelling) still I feel gross (last time they check no infection).. Hope I'm clear on my next check up 5. My belly is now noticeable :) 6. Enjoy s*** than before 7. Moody ( feeling so sensitive ) 8. The way I walk change (that's the feedback I have from my officemates) 9. Love sweet items :) 10. Love to look at my DH face every morning :) 11. No food cravings (find it weird) (my cats are so sweet than ever ... Wonder if they sense that a baby is on her/his way to meet them :)) Happy pregnancy to all :)

Hi ladies.. Would like to ask regarding the Check Ups procedures and process in latifa and the Clinic (accredited by latifa). I'm 11 weeks and 3 days pregnant for the first time (almost ending my first trimester :)), and Latifa told me that I need to report to the accredited clinic for the check ups then when I turn 5 months, my check ups will be held in the Latifa hospital itself... What kind of check ups and lab tests are they doing in the clinic and in the hospital? Do they let you see your baby in the monitor? ( al Baraha does not do this). I presume taking your weight, height, BP.. What else? Do they monitor if the baby inside you is progressing the way the fetus should be? Do they monitor If your water level is ok or not? I would appreciate if someone will give me some enlightenment :) Thanks a lot

I just enter my 11 week period (10 days and 1 day to be exact) and I am feeling more nausea than before...and always have a feeling that you like to throw up all the time... I find it weird as I though that I am approaching the end of my 1st trimester, I will be more relax but find things more worst :( I even cried one night feeling helpless... I will also try that sickness band. Also DB, where will I get a ginger ale? My DH brought me ginger herbal tea which doesn't helpe at all... Hope everyone is doing fine :) edited by Hassli on 16/05/2012

Thank you champagneblonde for this information... Now, my DH is the one cleaning the litter tray... Do you have an idea how much is the toxo fee for each cat.. I have them for a year now and I'm a cat woman since childhood.. If I have extra fund would send them for this toxo test :) does it mean that once they are found negative, then they will never develop this particular virus ? Also, what is the most effective dewormer.. Thank you so much.. :)

Hello ladies.. Just had a check up yesterday and it went well. We hear out baby's heartbeat and everything else is good as per the doctor. Though, We are happy to learn these... We have a concern over the whole pregnancy costing..we find it a concern where to have pre natal care and which hospital to go for delivery... I have insurance but it does not cover maternity. Can you recommend a good hospital (pro natural birth)? I have already inquire with latifa hospital (al wasl) it will cost 16k - 21k with epidural (5k for prenatal (10visits), 9k normal delivery (14k c-section) with private room for 2 days and 2k epidural) Amber clinic have 4k prenatal care but they will only refer you to other hospital for delivery. (we already spend here almost 1k.. For consultation 150, ultrasound 350, and 500 for urinalysis, toxo IgG test, and CBC - we find this already a lot... Thinking to have pre natal package) Any recommendation :) Thanks ladies :)

Hello girls ... Has anyone experience difficulty in breathing? Been experiencing this since 4 day ago and I'm currently 7 weeks and 0 days... If yes, how are you dealing with this shortness of breath? Thanks... No, shortness of breath isn't normal and if you're having difficulty breathing then you should get yourself to a hospital. Thanks floridagirl... I moved my check up/appointment Tom. Instead of sat. as this is troubling me especially at night... I will go to hospital once I feel I can't tolerate the same... Hoping all things are fine with my first prenatal check up and hear my baby's heartbeat... Thanks...
