Thanks so much plum2. The school/site that you mentioned looks very interesting and along the lines of what I was looking for.

Thanks Half Moon for your suggestions and comments. . My daughter has been in conventional school since KG1. Right now looking for something smaller and maybe more flexible and perhaps taught differently. My daughter can do a lot of things that they do in Grade 4 but they just don't seem to be relevant to her and as they progress coursework is moving at a faster speed. Its challenging for a lot of kids to keep up now and I think it will be too much for my daughter soon (or maybe it already is). I think best option right now if I want to keep her in UAE is to do K12 or some type of homeschooling with a good tutor. Also looking into boarding school option but not keen on sending her away - though might consider if I could find the right school etc,

Hi Hazyhazard - just want to say that I recently took my ford explorer to Dexol (thanks to advice from Madge Gustard and other ladies on the forum). I ended up paying about 5500. I just got the car back yesterday so its early days but I was impressed with Dexol. They seemed very professional and were very helpful and also fixing lots of cars. When I was at Dexol I met one mechanic/garage owner who sends all his cars with transmission/gear box problems to Dexol to be fixed. The dealer quoted me over 2k just to replace wire on top of transmission plus at least 3K just to open up transmission and said that job could cost up to 20K. Dexol was able to fix wire without replacing. As an aside, according to Dexol transmission problems are common in Dubai because of high temperature; very important to make sure transmission oil changed every 25K.

Hi Carrot Top, my daughter has been diagnosed with early onset scoliosis. She is 10 now and has been monitored by Dr Sinclair (pediatric orthopaedic surgeon) for several years now to ensure that the curve doesn't get worse. She had a full spinal MRI last year at citi and before that a few periodic xrays. I understand one critcal time is when major growth spurts happen ( ie just before and during puberty) .

Thanks Ladies for all your suggestions. My 10 year old daughter has been asking for years to have her ears pierced - not sure she is really ready to do it yet though.

Hi Ladies, Thanks so much for your help and suggestions. AustraliaJudy wondered if you liked Lech and whether you found it more expensive than other major Austrian ski resorts. Has anyone been to Saalbach or Serfaus recently? I skied at Saalbach years ago and really liked it but it isnt super challenging and is lower so snow not as reliable. Thanks again for all your help.

Thanks so much RSAgirl and Elk1973. I don't think I would have discovered either course if you hadn't mentioned. Curious whether either of you are using skills that you learned in work situation. I am also looking at some homeopathy courses one is through the Canadian college of homeopathic medicine. Thanks again for all your help.

Sorry for the delay in responding. Thanks to everyone for all your great suggestions. Will look into animal hospital idea which I know my kids would love (only danger might end up with some more animals. ) Also will look into ideas re labour camps. Also wondered if anyone had done anything here in connection with children in hospital or orphanages. Thanks again for all you help.

Hi - another option is to make your own bars. I haven't found perfect option yet. I have made one bar with oats, lots of nuts, sunflower seeds and honey (which is a bit sweet but delicious) and another bar that has almond butter or peanut butter (or other nut butter) plus nuts, oats, protein powder and small bit of honey (not as sweet but also not as crunchy).

Hi I have also had problems with insomnia. I found magnesium citrate (needs to be citrate not some of other form of magnesium like carbonate) really helps me. I take 400 mgs (blue bonnet brand available from supercare) before I go to bed . One side effect it keeps you regular - if this gets to be a problem you can switch to different form of magnesium like magnesium glycinate

Hi Mohandissa, Thanks for the kind offer re left handed golf clubs. I am sorry I didn't respond sooner, I have had visitors etc and also initially missed your response. I am very interested. I don't know much about golf but according to one site approximate sizes my daughter's height would be: driver - 36 in 8 iron - 30.5 in 7 iron - 31 in 6 iron - 31.5 in I gather you measure club from bottom of shaft (ie don't include golf club head) to top of shaft. Wondered if your son's clubs would be anywhere close to that size. Thanks so much.

Hi my daughter had this on her underarm last winter (about 20-25 spots). I used organic apple cider vinegar (with mother in it- available at some pharmacies and grocery stores) which cleared up the spots. It took about a month but I didn't apply every night especially if any spots were aggravated. Initially the spots were very red and aggravated so I applied cortisone cream which my pediatrician prescribed. Once spots settled down I put on vinegar with Qtip. I used a separate qtip with each spot because it is so contagious. It worked best when spots were swollen and ready to explode. My pediatrician didn't know about this remedy but was ok with me trying. There are a few very good sites on molluscum on internet.

I don't know anything about Beach Rd accident but I had a general comment about taking care. Recently on Al Wasl Rd I slowed down to avoid hitting a jaywalker who was crossing during heavy traffic. After I slowed down I was hit from behind . Just wanted to remind people how dangerous it is to jaywalk when there is a lot of traffic.
